I got a few sets at 50%. A friend of mine got the $10 Prince of Persia set for 54 cents! Also, they have some great deals online if you search for LEGO and then show only clearance. Some of the board games are 75% off.

Got another Target Practice when I spent $75 at my local LEGO store. I would have preferred to buy a whole bunch of Target Practices for $75, but they won't sell them even though they have a price on the receipt.

Very cool! Love the mix of a dance party in medieval times. Alternately, you could always say it's medieval dress-up day at the dance club. Works both ways.

Back To The Future III (WW Category 1 Train)
SilvaShado replied to PrinceWilliam's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
One of my favorite movies and now I get to see it in LEGO! You have made my day!! Everything looks great! The minifigures, the delorean, the train - it's all absolutely beautiful and so detailed! -
Great review! Love the humor and the way you write. I'm surprised that Sprout was included when she doesn't have an office. And then there's a divination room, but not Trelawney... and then an empty room with pictures? Just odd! But I bought it because I'm buying all the Harry Potter sets. I'm definitely mixing it into the Hogwarts Castle on my shelf, though, to make it look better. I'm still disappointed in how little space there is to do anything in most of the sets, but oh, well. Most of them look great. And I would have preferred the name to be Battle for Hogwarts. It's a stronger name and means something. Hogwarts... is just bland.

I love a lot of the ideas in this thread. There are so many locations and scenes to choose from that would be fantastic to see in LEGO. The only thing I really really want is a centaur. They have them in the video game so why not make them?! Also, Hagrid's dog. I always thought it odd that they never made him even though there are two versions of his hut.

Fantastic job! Spot on in recreating the scene. It was great that you included the source pic. It's so cool to look from one to the other and see what an amazing job you did! -
The Unofficial Minifigure Catalog
SilvaShado replied to legolijntje's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yeah, I saw this today. Oh, boy! That's too expensive. I mean, it's a cool book, but that's almost my entire LEGO budget for a month. I'm going to wait to see it listed on Amazon and check if they ever put it on sale. Otherwise, I'm going to wait a while to see if they do a new edition as they get feedback. If I'm going to spend that much, I want to make sure it's as accurate as possible. -

Favourite Series 1-3 LEGO Minifig Collection?
SilvaShado replied to SilentMode's topic in Special LEGO Themes
That's too bad... It'd be neat to see the running total of how people are voting, or would vote. -
Thanks for the link! Now, if I ever get my hands on the train, I can motorize it.

This is fantastic! Thank you so much for your hard work creating these instructions. We're looking at creation a pirate section for our club's layout in November and we just may have to build this!

Pirates of the Carribean Contest - ENTRIES CLOSED
SilvaShado replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
So this period is more of a review-like critique (two-minifigure hands up kind of thing) rather than constructive feedback, since the writers can't change anything. It's a little odd, but *shrug* okay. I've only got one more story to review. -
Oh, man, that looks so cool! Is it motorized with power functions? Aw, that sucks... Well, I can only hope that LEGO will come out with a new one in the next few years...
-
There has! What's the set number? When did it come out? I have to get it!
-
I'll be sure to post pics as I do them, though I have a lot of project upcoming for our club's layout so it may be a while before I get to my fairy tale MOCs.

Hi! I've been an AFOL for a little over a year now...
SilvaShado replied to SilvaShado's topic in Hello! My name is...
Hi There! I've been in the pirate section lately for the writing contest, but we did buy all of the PoTC sets and we may be designing a Pirate section for our club's layout in November. If we do, I'll take some pictures and post in the pirate board. I was thinking about requesting the Lady tag, but I like rising in the ranks of the normal crew. I was actually a little disappointed when I became a citizen as I liked the term vassal. I like medieval stuff and this kind of touched on that. Of course, on the other hand, Lady was a designation of nobility in the medieval era. I could always think of it like that... ...but it comes down to me not liking pink! lol! Sorry to hear that you're wife is not onboard, but you've got the right forward motion with your son. You get him hooked for life and you've got someone to share the fun with. I'm finding that it's pretty rare for both people in a relationship to like LEGO, but I'm also starting to realize that it helped that we emerged from the Dark Ages together, at the same moment. It was very bonding. -
I think it'd be fantastic if they could partner with Disney to do all the Princesses. Then, they couldn't mess up the colors because they'd just have to pick out scenes from the movies and all the colors would already be chosen. As long as they do minifigure scale, it'd sell like hotcakes. In more realistic view, I think doing city sets that focus on non-conflict or emergency would work great. A hair salon would be a lot of fun along with restaurants and other stores. Personally, I'd love a fairy-tale theme, but that'd probably involve a lot more new molds for minifigures. But all the fairy tales are public domain so as long as they stick to the stories, I don't think they could go wrong with them. Can only wait and see what LEGO does. Hopefully, it's minifigure scale, whatever it is, and opens up the color palette a bit more.

Thanks for posting that link. So it looks like nobody knows any solid info yet. As usual, we'll all have to wait and see.

Favourite Series 1-3 LEGO Minifig Collection?
SilvaShado replied to SilentMode's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I got it and voted for the elf. Mostly I hope they notice that a lot of people want the elf and will create a new series with them, not just a new vintage pack. But it does look like they're going to do a vintage pack of the 5 most popular. My guess will be = elf, spartan, zombie, robot, cheerleader. The only one that may not make it is the cheerleader because it just came out in the calendar, but I still think it'll get a lot of votes. Or course, I'd rather them do new minifigures in these themes rather than re-releases, such as females or alternate designs. Maybe we should do a poll here? Can the poll include that many choices? That'd be 48 choices. -
Like the title says, I've heard rumors that there will be a new girl theme next year. A month ago, I sent an email to LEGO, telling them how disappointed I was in the Belville series. They wrote back saying that the good folk in Denmark are working hard on a new series for girls, but they wouldn't confirm any details. So does anyone know anything about it? I really don't want to get my hopes up considering how poorly they've done with girl-oriented sets so far. They have some of the basic concepts right - fairy tales & fantasy - but the execution is just bad. It needs to be minifigure scale to fit in with the rest of the LEGO universe and the color palette needs to be expanded beyond pink and purple. If they don't get it right, well, I'm just going to have to make my own fairy tale sets. Which I'll probably do anyway.

Thanks! Glad you like my MOC. As for the photo, the problem I was having was finding the link on flickr. It's not easy to find, but someone on another thread pointed me in the right direction.
