Small LDD contest - [FINAL RESULTS]
SilvaShado replied to Calabar's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Thanks for the clarification. I was undecided as I liked so many of them, so that's why I went with 3 points each for the ones I chose. They were all great. -
Very cool looking! Can't wait to see what else you make. It's too bad minifigure series 6 isn't out because there will be a barbarian in there.

I tried sending LEGO an email with that question and the response was some nonsense about how they can't take fan suggestions for doing new sets because its against the rules...blah blah... So I guess the answer is probably no. Otherwise, they would have said that they can't reveal information about sets before they are released. I was hoping they would, but considering they only did 2 sets for the previous Avatar... it's not very likely. Although I will be completely overjoyed if they do.

Small LDD contest - [FINAL RESULTS]

I hope I have this correct, that if you like one, you put a higher number towards it. If you don't like it as much, you put a lower number. Please correct me if I'm wrong so I can redo my voting. But here it is with the understanding that 3 is good and 1 is not so good. - 11 - the last chronicler - Red Faced Monkey-Lion: 3 - 27 - blackpyre - Fire Wyvern: 3 -36 - -R8- - The Goblin Schoolboy: 3 -
Ninjago has been hit and miss for me. I'm a castle/medieval person so I wanted Ninjago to be more in that vein with fantasy creatures and Asian-style buildings. We get some of that, much better in this wave withe the dragons, but I do not like the vehicles. It's like Pharaoh's Quest, which I feel was ruined by the vehicles. Still, I'll end up buying them as once I start buying a theme, I don't stop. So for better or for worse, I'm in completely. I'm glad the game gets an overhaul. I really hope it works better, but I'm still not all that impressed by it. Thanks for the advanced info!

Aw, that sucks. Well, I went ahead and joined. I'll give it a try for a while and we'll see.

I hope this is okay to discuss, but I'd like to know what people think about Brickli.me, the social network for LEGO fans that is run by Brick Show. Is anyone here also on Brickli.me? If so, what do you like about it? What don't you like about it? Oh, and does anyone know what the lime means? I'm just trying to get a feel for it and decide whether to join.

Well, we played it tonight and didn't have as much fun as we hoped. It really is for kids, not for adult fans. Unless you come up with your own challenges and use the alternate challenges. Anyway, the basic game is you are traveling around a track and participating in challenges to move around. The first one who gets back to the start and wins a challenge becomes the Champion. The 5 basic challenges are: On Target - each person throws a 2X4 of their color at the die and whoever is closest wins the challenge. This was the most fun of the basic challenges. Bluffing Bricks - each person secretly takes 3 bricks of any color. The challenger makes a guess as to how many of one color are among all of the player's bricks such as I think there are 2 red. The next person has to guess at least 3 more of a color. At any point a person can say reveal if you think the previous person's guess was too high. Everyone reveals and count up the color. If there are fewer bricks than the guess, you win. If there are more, then that player wins. Toople Tower - the challenger takes on brick and puts it down as the base of the tower. The next person takes 2 bricks, connects them and balances them on the base. The next person takes 3 bricks, connects them and balances them. When it topples, the previous person wins. Codebreaker - The challenger builds a secret code by stacking 3 different colored bricks in secret. each person gets to ask yes/no questions. When someone thinks they have the code, they build it and then compare. If that person got it right, they win. If they didn't then the challenger wins. Speed Builder - challenger takes 1 brick of each color and secretly builds a shape. Then reveals it and everyone else tries to build that shape the fastest. As soon as someone has it, they say finished. If it is exactly the same, they win. If not, the challenger wins. I think it's overpriced considering it's mostly 2X4 bricks, though the two new female microfigures are nice - a pink princess and yellow barbarian. And there's a solid pearl gold microfigure. All the other microfigures look to be repeats from other games. But I do like two of the alternate challenges, Bowled Over, where you play a bowling type game using the 2x4 bricks as pins and the die as the bowling ball. The other challenge allows you to make up a challenge when you roll that color. If you've got a group with good imagination, this could be a lot of fun. Or, like I said, just make up a bunch of challenges ahead of time and substitute the ones you don't like for the ones you made. Overall, though, I give it 2 studs out of 6. It's overpriced for the pieces you get and you really need to make up a lot to make it better for older players. But with the right group and imagination, it could be fun.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 Discussion
SilvaShado replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I'm so hoping that these are real. Love Statue of Liberty, Scotsman, Leprechaun, Genie and Minotaur. I know I'd buy many many copies of those. I've been wanting more fantasy creatures and the Genie and Minotaur are right up my alley. I think I'll have to make a maze. lol. -
You're right. And TRU lists all the spinners online. And I wanted to confirm for people that the Lightning Dragon is not sold at LEGO stores. I just went there today. It does appear that it is a TRU exclusive, at least for the US. So if anyone hears of any good percent off coupons for TRU, make sure to post them. Please!

I had posted it on Brickshelf, but I don't like how little info you can put on each image. It wasn't until recently that someone told me about flickr so I've been slowly uploading all our MOC images to our new flickr account. BUt then, it's better late than never. Thanks for the positive feedback! We really had a ball doing all the details.

Went to the LEGO store to see what was new and saw that they had a couple of copies of LEGO Champion game #3861! I've been looking forward to this game for a while, but didn't think it'd be out yet. It's good for a lot of players, 3-8, which is what we've needed. And there are 5 different challenges in the box so that'll be good for variety. I'll post again when we've played it.

Yeah, it was my husband's idea to make it open like it does. Yes, very much like some dollhouses. Glad you like it. Thanks for the feedback. Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, I've never seen anything that opens like this with so many hinges. Glad you like all the details we put into it.

I hope they're not doing something silly like regionalizing which sets go where. That would really suck. Maybe not all the stores have all the shipments yet.

Comic-Con Star Wars Advent Calendar Set 7958
SilvaShado replied to SilvaShado's topic in LEGO Star Wars
If that's it then I can definitely wait, especially to pay a more reasonable price for it. -
I've seen the new Ninjago sets at TRU, though I didn't pick them up because they didn't qualify for the BOGO sale. I'm still hoping to get them at a discount. So I saw: Mountain Shrine Sensei Wu (spinner) Lord Garmadon (spinner) Skull Truck Fire Temple Blacksmith Shop Earth Dragon Defense Lightning Dragon Battle What I'm wondering about is the two skeleton spinners, Wyplash and Kruncha. I haven't seen them listed anywhere, but I don't see that there's going to be another wave this year. Unless these two are exclusive to LEGO stores like the weapon training set.

I was just curious if anyone got the Comic-Con Star Wars Advent Calendar Set 7958? If so, what makes it different than the one that is going to come out this winter?

Any good sales/coupons on LEGO?
SilvaShado replied to SilvaShado's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Thanks all for the feedback. I'll keep an eye on the Eurobricks thread and take a look at Brickset. And thanks for the B&N codes. I'll give those a try. -
Hi all, My husband and I built this last year. It was the second MOC we ever made and is still one of our favorites. I've finally loaded them up on to flickr. Here's the full gallery of images: http://www.flickr.co...57627199096381/ Here's a few highlights.

Very very cool! I'm glad you finished it because it's awesome! I really like the musical instruments and the symbolism you put in from the lyrics. Great work! I'll be sharing this with my friends and LUG.

Very cool! I haven't read it yet, but I downloaded it and I'm working on downloading the previous English issues. I didn't know this magazine existed, but I'm new to the AFOL community. I'm looking forward to reading Issue 11 and I'll return with feedback soon.

Just wondering if anyone has heard of any good sales or coupons on LEGO? I've heard of the 30% off B&N, but only seem to get 10% off when I tried to use it. I also know that today is the last day for TRU's buy 1 get 1 40% off deal. And Target's clearanced a bunch of sets. Anyone know of anything else going on right now for discounts in the U.S.? Thanks!

I picked up 2 copies of the game Robo Champ for $2.64 when it was normally $10.59. I saw the passanger plane for half off and there were a lot of copies, but it wasn't anything I wanted. They also had a lot of an Atlantis set half-off, but not anything I wanted. I've also seen LEGO sold in Ross stores. It's not very often, but I'm going to begin looking, just in case.
