  1. It seems to reuse most of the modules with a slight modification, except form the suspention/steering modules that are all new and a new lower mid frame with center diff and axels to front and rear. Gearbox, motor, main frame (slightly altered), doors, hood (slightly altered) seems to bee the same. I would guess it would be possible to build this as a "B - modell" without needing to many extra parts. Anybody know if he's made an instruction for this? -ED- EDIT: Added some pics
  2. Did Nathanaël make an off road edition of this, reusing most of the components, or was that someone else? I'm certain I've seen pics of it. If the instructions for that version also comes out, i'll buy both! If not i don't think I'll bother, even though it is a great car. But anyways, great work Nathanaël!! And i do think the price of the instructions is just right!! -ED-
  3. Wow, that seems to come directly from TLG. Great MOC! Congratulations! -ED-
  4. I agree, noting wrong. A tad to square and maybe a bit hollow, but seems like a good basis to work on. Good luck! -ED-
  5. Yes, a forklift including these parts would be great, but most important to me would be a remote with proportional control! I really miss this for the mocs i'm designing...
  6. I really don't care what it is, as long as it includes one or more of these parts: Longer pneumatic cylinder (preferable with a smaller cross section), remote controlled valve, servo motor, S-PF motor (size of micro motor, but more power), High rpm L-PF-motor, new remote control with variable stick controls that return to zero speed when released, new flex system with adjustable length cables (threaded end pieces?). If I had to choose a model, I would prefer one of the following: - Road Grader with full functionality - Plane with a new flex system and pneumatic - Machine of some kind, with some of the mentioned parts (I really have found memories of the old Control center sets 8094 and 8485 even though I only had the first) - New space shuttle (As 2011 was the last year of the space shuttle and lego has made a lot of models of them, I do not think it to far fetched we would get a new technic one in memory of the shuttles)
  7. This is what I call an original idea! I've got to try it, if for nothing else, just for the wow factor. Could be a nice little ting to throw on the shelf and show of... -ED-
  8. Mine is hanging from three hooks in the roof... =D Yes, It would be nice with a new plane. It would also be a great opportunity to introduce a decent propeller, and maybe to reintroduce the flex system... -ED-
  9. Only one word comes to mind, AMAZING! This must be the absolute most compact PF controlled models I've ever seen. Great work!
  10. Both. If the model is really epic, like the 8043 excavator is in my opinion I leave the RC stuff inn it. If not i reuse them, and all the other parts. Often i will buy additional sets just for the parts, especially sets with RC part. But of course I'm on a rather big budget with about € 1500 to buy pats/sets for each year. The last three months I've spent about € 1000 on Bricklink, building up stock for MOC's for the 8110 and a couple of other large MOC's (I'm probably not going to tear them down anytime soon, so I need extra parts). So my answer is probably not the most accurate for the larger mass.
  11. May i suggest "the Bahamut" (A creature so big and fearsome that no mere human can bear it's sight). You can read more about the name here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bahamut Or you could use the more known "Behemoth" in some combination. More info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Behemoth -ED-
  12. Hi, Good luck with this massive MOC. Is it supposed to be a recreation of something from a film or similar? -ED-
  13. He said current project... So hi is working on it right now. This, I at least, think qualifies. But as for putting old models into the competition, I do agree with you. -ED-
  14. New video of 8110 available from lego.com http://technic.lego.com/en-US/Products/default.aspx#8110 -ED-
  15. This fits well with my building speed for the UCS Millenium falcon. It's 5000+ parts and took me about 15 hours, including a dinner and some food later on... So i would expect about 6 to 8 hours for 8110. -ED-
  16. I believe this is because of us, AFOLs. There are a lot fewer Technic sets and fewer special parts in Technic than in Lego System. This makes it a lot easier to affect prices, and there is a lot more advanced MOC's with instructions (and ideas with instructions) then in system, and it also effect prizes... I did buy 10 return to center parts a few days ago (for a MOC), and just a few hours before somebody bought 20 witch brought the prize up quite a bit... There was only about 60 available at the time. -ED-
  17. Agreed. But that doesn't mean we should not care. Just some soft reminders of who's work it actually is might be enough to make this guy think twice before doing it again. -ED-
  18. I actually heard back from him again... I sent this message: "Hi again, I take it you aren't going to admit it's Jurgen's "Lil Devil" you are selling... I'll have to report this to e-bay. -Naz-" And he answered: "Dear nazgarot, Hey, I have taken some of his design but it has been modified so they are actually not the same. As I said, I worked with a friend on this unique design. While it may appear similar to another design, I can guarantee you that it is not the same. Furthermore, feel free to report it to eBay, I'm not sure what you would be accusing me of. Thanks again for the design and good luck with your build! - rower_24" So in the end he is admitting it's Jurgens design, and that Jurgen is not his friend who helped design this... I don't think it will help reporting him to e-bay, but I'll do it anyway. Maybe it helps if they get several reports.
  19. I asked him if he had designed it by himself, and got this answer: "Dear nazgarot, I designed it with a person that I know. - rower_24" Hes hopping around the truth like it was a dangerous snake... He never say that he designed it him self in the add, but this is close to a lie (except if he really is telling the truth, but I doubt it). I also asked if he would be willing to tell me who he designed it with. I said I've seen similar cars on the net, and was wondering if it would be worth the money to buy this, or if it was possible to download the instructions and build it with the parts i've got... I'm not really expecting an answer, but we'll see... -ED- EDIT: He actually answered: "Dear nazgarot, I can't give out a name as that is his decision. You're more than welcome to try to build your own, designing it took forever, along with sourcing the parts which is extremely difficult in it's own regard. If you try to build your own, it takes much, much more time than even I thought. Sourcing parts was also very difficult and expensive with shipping from so many sources. Good luck with whatever you decide. - rower_24"
  20. Is that a W-28 motorblock i see, or is it a star 6x7? This is an insane MOC. Some of the most ambitious work I've ever seen. I still think rechargeable batteries in individual closed circuits could solve both some of the weight problem, and the power problem. It will also be a lot cheaper for you in the long run, as you wont have to buy AA or AAA cells all the time. How are you going to control this? It cant be all remote with that many motors? -ED-
  21. There is several different battery packs, but i would recommend using the rechargeable battery. It's the lightest of them all, but still cant deliver enough power for more than 2 XL and 2 M PF motors. If you are willing to modify the electronic (not a purist) then i would recommend you use LiPo RC batteries at 7.4 Volts. These you can get up to at least 8 A/h from, and the best can deliver a peak current of more than 200 A. You should also be aware that there is a limit for how much power a RC receiver can deliver. I think I've heard 1 XL and 2 M PF motors, but i can't be sure. Anyways it has an internal safety that will limit the current when it goes above the "safe area". How come you need 20 M motor? Isn't it possible to multitask some of them through gearboxes? -ED- Put the foto's on brickshelf, flicker or similar service, and add a deep link.
  22. It should be. Se the instructions for some older cars (8850 for example) to see how a V-block can be made with studed parts. If you want to make a flat or in line block it should be even easier. (A star engine is a bit tougher, but doable. Of course it's quite unheard of in a car...) -ED-
  23. If you look at the rear axle you can see there is two 15 stud liftarms running parallel from one side to the other. These are in line with the edge of the tire, so total with from outer edge of tires should be: (15 stud + (2x (34mm/8mm/stud)) = 15 stud + (2x 4,25stud) = 23,5 stud.
  24. They are bigger. About 12,5 studs vs the old 24*43 tire with 10,25 stud, and a slight bit wider as well. -ED-
