  1. Ink and paper, what are you talking about? Just build it beside a computer, and you wont have to print the instruction... I've done so several times, and it's no problem. Or, are you talking about something totally different?
  2. Try this link: http://technic.lego.com/nb-no/BuildingInstructions/default.aspx
  3. Add them in this thread, then we can collect all of them... -ED-
  4. i can't say for sure, but I believe they aren't launched in any sets. It may be pieces that are used in a Legoland somewhere, or it may be a mistake on bricklink. I remember seeing these brick designs on pictures from a workshop in a legoland somewhere, but can't remember where. I think it was a kind of wish list. Fact is, it may very well be impossible to get them, but if you do, be sure to notify us in this thread. -ED-
  5. For those who are collecting I've composed a basic Excel list over all 29 figures released from TLG. You are free to edit and do what ever you want with it. It's a nice tool to keep a registry of your figures, and you can find it at my brickshelf folder as soon as it becomes public. It's the "...minifigs.xls" file. -ED-
  6. Amazing! That's the kind of stuff I wanna see done with NXT. I would really want to take a closer look at the program he is running...
  7. That thing works amazingly well! -ED-
  8. You could try mounting it on a half beam and put two of these on the end of the pin. I've done something similar before, and it worked well as long as i didn't spin it to fast.
  9. That's exactly the idea I got, but in a mini edition: -ED-
  10. I love the way that rather simple square cabin sets off the advanced frame. It gives the whole vehicle that rough tough look. Great MOC!
  11. Yes, i agree. Many of to days sets are actually in Technic minifig scale, and it only needs slight modifications to include a seat with a minifig (As this proves). The last set i saw with a minifig was the Power puller. And the minifig from that set is really expencie on bricklink. I may buy one anyway though as I have set it as a goal to have all the technic minifig ever released. I had a complete collection until -95 when I went into my darkages, but was stupid enough t give it away... How i regret that desition! But anyway, Its looking better now, I have managed to collect about half the figs ever released again. -ED-
  12. Yes, I will try once i get home from work. I was thinking of trying with a 8 tooth gear as well, but using rubber bands as the springs are to stiff for this. Edit: Oh, and the batteries where almost flat. You can especially hear that as I try to lift the boom again after cracking the cookie (Should it be cracker maybe?).
  13. Nice. Small but efficient mods. Makes the model grow in my eyes. -ED-
  14. If it is a yellow construction vehicle, i just hope it uses the Unimog tires on yellow rims. I really would like to have those rims in yellow, and I guess the only way to get them would be for Lego to produce a set with them in yellow. -ED-
  15. This gave me a great idea for a easy moc for my kid to play with! Thanks!
  16. The video of the Nail Beater is available on YouTube. Sorry about the quality. It was made entirely by my mobile phone... -ED-
  17. I'm not certain it's the same part, but I found the set I was thinking of. It's from 1982, and includes two of these "support stands". Bricklink parts list for 6890: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=6890-1 The beem with two studs is form set 6361. Parts list: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=6361-1 EDIT: Actually it's been in a lot of sets, but 6361 was the first, and the only one i have that includes it. -ED-
  18. The frist one (thin beem with offset studs) is part of a crane boom for a an old city set. This one http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/9978/photo18082011212041.jpg was used on a old spaceship for earli/mid 80's. All the other seem prety standard to me, just different molds.
  19. Hi, I've been modding a little on the 8043 excavator recently, and discovered a lot of new equipment mods. The problem is that there is on topic for each mod, so they are almost impossible to find. With this topic I want to start a collection of equipment for 8043, and equipment related mods. I hope everybody can help by either putting a link to other topics or adding replays with pics and videos of their own mods. I'll start by presenting my Jackhammer "The Nail Beater" (It actually hurts unleashing this on a finger nail, just ask my wife ) It's a simple spring loaded system that packs quite a punch, but it's slow. I tried to make it faster by using a 8 tooth gear, but that ended in a destroyed gear... I'll try again in a while with different springs. 3 times shorter time between hits would mak it a lot mor realistic, and it would be more compact to... The motor in this construction is doubling up as additional weight to make each punch count. More pictures and the complete .lfx file will soon be available on my brickshelf. The result of hitting a cracker Here you can even see crumbs on the spear Attached to the excavator Better view Details of the loading mechanism Partslist A youtube video will follow soon. You may also be intrested in my mod to fit a technic minifig in 8043. -ED- EDIT: Added some details.
  20. Mine is done. It really packs a punch (hurts when i let it hit a fingernail), but is rather slow... I will start a new topic to present it shortly. -ED-
  21. A slight mistake there. The 2011 flagship was not an offroader but a truck (the unimog is an off road going truck). So next should be construction equipment in yellow with wheels... To bad, I was hoping for something very different, preferable a machine (like the old control center with drawing machine), but maybe if we look further back the statistics can come and save us -ED-
  22. It was my first set coming out of the dark ages to. I bought it because i wanted to make a RipSaw model, and it had the perfect parts for this. I agree that the Bulldozer was a great set for PF parts, but i think it was better for this then the 8043. First of all it had to XL motors, and it was a lot cheaper then the 8043. But it is a really good base for making more advanced Bulldozer (or tank models) using LAs and newer panels. For me it was a perfect transition into studless technique, as it had a good mix of studded an studless. I ended up buying two, but both have been demolished for parts. I'm thinking of building a new Bulldozer how ever. It will be a more advanced edition, but based on the same design, maybe even using the same tracks. To anyone thinking of buying this set, i don't think it's worth the prizes demanded. Buy the parts you are missing, and build it yourself. (Used XL motors on Bicklink arn't to expencive, and they where what made the second set a bargain for me. I payed less then $ 160 for it, and in Norway Lego is really really expensive. It had a new prize of $ 270. (The 8110 Unimog is $ 310)) -ED-
  23. Hi, I recently bought the 8258 Crane Truck (A great set, to bad I waited this long to buy it) to part up and use for an upcoming Scania MOC. I'm just waiting for drawings from Scania :) But, to the topic: I want to build a full RC construction machine park in Technic minifig scale. I've been planing this for a long time, but buying the 8258 really kicked me to action. This is a presentation of the first mod, to make the 8043 compatible with a minifig. It's a simple mod that only took me about 15 minutes (making instructions, how ever, took a lot more time), and I don't know if it's been done before, but i included a instruction so anyone can do it after me. The instruction (as a .doc document) and more pics will soon be available on my Brickshelf. To accommodate a minifig I had to make the whole cabin longer, but i think i managed to keep an original look on it, so I'm quite pleased with it. I also thought about including pedals for the belt controls (the "4 long axles with stop" in front), but found there was to little space (might do it in the future though). But no more talk, here it is: Hope you enjoy this. Next up will be to include a variation of Jurgens 8043 mod, and make a working jackhammer for it. -ED-
  24. Just buildt one in yellow myself, and it looks great. Added some black details around it, and it really sets it off. I also got rid of all the red parts and replaced them with dark bluish gray or light bluish gray. A few details i included in black, and it looks really realistic. Will upload pics in a few days (I'm going to work for 48 hours straight...). -ED-
