  1. I like it!
  2. I read 3d printed bricks cannot maintain their clutch.
  3. Would be nice getting access to retired sets without paying resellers markups.
  4. Nice moc, can't wait to see it when its built.
  5. Agree seams a little over priced.
  6. Good rebuild. As a subway would be nice if you added lights to the front.
  7. I like it, very unusual. Hope it gets selected.
  8. One thought, if you do convert to 100% 9 volt. You could run one train with a 9 V motor on the metal tracks. A second train could be run on PU, that way you could control one or both so they don't hit each other. Another option is adding a senor on the PU train. If properly placed could automatically stop the PU train if it senses the 9 V one. Automating my trains is more fun then I thought. Fairly easy to have a train run forward thru a switch, then reverse its direction and have it go the alternate direction of said switch. I use this control strategy to back a train into a siding. Your layout is too large not to have multiple trains running what ever you decide.
  9. You have a lot of space which is awesome. Will be interesting to see your layout develop. One question, you stated wanting to convert to 100% 9 V. I am in the process of converting to PU and using the Lego App for automation. Are you planning on running multiple trains on your layout at the same time? Believe this could be done with a 9 V system, but as the track is always has powered all trains would have to run at the same speed and direction. What are you plans?
  10. From the Alternate build article. Wow!!! Could you imagine if we got this version. “Specifically, that patio [above the art gallery] is there to make sure that we don’t hide the billboard on the Police Station. At one point the building was mirrored the other way over the angle, and that was completely hiding this beautiful detail that people who bought this building probably want to show off.”
  11. Looks good. If you have plans on expanding suggest adding the outdoor play area. Recall a lot of times the show was on the playground.
  12. Looks like you have a lot of room to continue your collection. Nice city layout.
  13. I hear you. i was the same way. What got me thinking recently is I have several of the Modular Buildings and they have sat as designed for years. Would like to change these up a bit, unfortunately don't have the number of spare bricks on hand to moc. Due to costs, would prefer to figure out my new design and secure any pieced I need vs purchasing a bunch of bricks.
  14. Agree, think a few corners (pardon the pun) were taken on the design of the Corner Garage.
  15. Sounds like it is still supported them. Don't recall where I read it was not. Thank you
  16. I will check this one out. Just want to play around with the software to see what it can do. Is LDD still supported by TLG? Thought I heard it was no longer.
  17. Just give the reindeer to my kids. Will be broke in half in less then 5 minutes :)
  18. Interesting question. Have wanted to try virtual building. Which software package is currently the best?
  19. Planning on changing the figures up a bit. Going to add at least one more hotel employee and a maid. Planning on adding a shop keeper for the art gallery, someone artsy. Other figs are fine for guests, One guest does need to have a dog thou....this is the Boutique Hotel after all. In my city, the back of the building will not be able to be viewed. Thinking I might move those 4 windows (2 per floor) on the back and extend the building to the right by 1/2 a base plate. Would require reworking the hotel rooms by could allow for 1st floor, public bathroom, indoor eating area 2nd floor this one is going to be difficult as floor so chopped up. Maybe can clean it up and make two nice rooms. 3rd floor, adding and additional suite Looking forward to modifying this set, can't wait for it to be released.
  20. i stand corrected, this set is perfectly sized.
  21. Will be interesting when BH is available for all. Right now the only ones with the set able to review with set in hand are the Lego Ambassador crowd, which is typically very pro Lego. This set is growing on me, just wish was a little taller as typically a hotel is a taller building in a city.
  22. Yes, have missed out on a lot of the GWP sets over they years. Didn't even know TLG was offering something for the upcoming Modular
  23. Yes, for the 15 year anniversary set, think most AFOL would have spent a little more for a better version. I am tempted also to get a second AS set. Have seen a few nice moc's for AS on Rebrickable. The best I found for my city is next to DO with DD acting as a corner build. My current city layout will not permit so DD is stilling by itself. With the addition of the Police Station and soon BH will work DD in somewhere.
