  1. I was trying 25 Euro for all the figs, 65 for the buildings. Both is below the cheapest bricklink price in Germany. I consider that a price as low as I can go. I bought the set for 118, so that would be a Smaug for 28. Most Smaugs here cost 45 or more. For 2 months now no one answerered. Well, maybe I'll use the bricks for myself. The dwarves will only get moer expensive once the line runs out.
  2. This comes at the right time. I am so going to pimp my elven horses with that. Especially with the blankets. There are no saddles in dark green unfortunately, but dark green blankets with reddish brown saddles will look fine!
  3. I have bought 2 complete viking ships, kept the dragons, sold the figs and the ships seperately and this way I got the expensive dragons almost for free. Time is money though, if it took me 2 hours this is quite a cost. But time I regard as part of the hobby. At the Moment I am trying to sell the Lonely Mountain in order to have a cheap Smaug, but no one at all wants the buildings and/or dwarves...
  4. Thanks for pointing out the new heads. Some are new to me and its good to see the new options. I just checked the prices in Germany. If I wanted more of the silver soldiers, it would cost about 7 Euro per fig. Add the custom parts and the head and you have 10 Euro per fig. That is too painful for army building. Cheaper are only the torsos from the "Scutter" fig. But thats only a torso, it is a Spider fig without legs. Hmm... Too bad the scorpion tribe was so small. I could put the scutter torsos on horses so the feet would not matter.
  5. Thank you. It is nice to get feedback even months after I published this. I still have not acquired the golden version of these Chima torsos/legs, but it will become a fine dark elf king. The scolder keychains are sold out meanwhile, so there goes this source for cheap troops.
  6. Finally, some action in the much neglected field of horse customizing! It was about time! I am particularly happy that is something I could never do myself. Fabric is so difficult to work with when you want to make something as big as a horse barding. I tried to make barding once and all I got was cut up pieces. And now this. The horses are restless tonight!
  7. I also thought a good way to make these would be to use capemadness mid capes or over capes as a basis and then cut them out.
  8. Hi Everyone, I have decided to get rid of my wargs. The amount of daily meat I cannot afford any longer and my wife does not like the howling. HAVE: - 5 dark brown wargs WANT: - up to 4 dark brown bears - up to 3 giant eagles (printed or not) I am aware that bears are a bit more valuable than the other animals. I have a lot of other stuff to give if we can work something out. Keep in mind that the animals are not flat enough to fit into an envelope.
  9. Perfect. It looks like an official product. I would buy these immediately. Well done!
  10. I like that the armor has a stud to hold e.g. a quiver. So we could make heavy archers.
  11. Finally, an armor worthy of an elf. Bronze would be nice. Silver, I request silver!
  12. A noble endeavour. I would be interested in hearing how it turns out. There is a famous video on dyeing lego, but I cannot find it. Hopefully some of the users know it.
  13. Hi, there are a few threads here which discuss this. I guess that is why no one has answered yet. Take some time to look, if you dont find enough, I'll help you.
  14. I chose the brickwarriors viking longsword. It it only avilable in dark grayish silver though.
  15. The problem colorwise are the weapons. They force pearl gold upon you, because they are not available in any other color. If it were not for them, you could use metallic gold to cover the customized edges of the helmet, change the arms to olive green and be done with it. It is an odd choice by TLG to mix silver, pearl gold and metallic gold on one fig. Since you probably want to keep the weapons, youre stuck with it. You cannot paint them because the hands would peel of the paint. So pearl gold it is. My elronds use different weapons, so by exchanging the arms I try to get rid of as much pearl gold as possible. Helmets will either be metallic gold or silver. Shields are even more complicated for Elronds, I have not solved this part of the puzzle yet. There are some chrome gold and silver shields, but they would Kind of overdo it.
  16. Hmm, I cannot help you finding a paint. But I wonder why you want to change the beautiful metallic gold to (not as beautiful?) pearl gold. Elronds are difficult in terms if colors, I also have a regiment. How about olive green arms? And/or silver helmets that match the silver areas of the armor. I dont wanna intrude on your design choices, but painting a series of (expensive) customized Atlantis helmets in a hard to make pearl style might be risky.
  17. Very nice!! Love the dragons. Where are the legs from? I could not find them on BL. The dragons might also look nice with the new lizard eye printed round tile.
  18. I never thought I would say that about SW again. Quod the f***! A fallen Star Destroyer! The epicness!
  19. I havent done any, but if I were to make one, I would imitate the one capemadness has made from fabric. This shape should also work in paper. His bricklink Shop can show you the hood.
  20. Love how the number of bombs under the wings is equal in the real and the duplo version.
  21. Unfortunately I have not tried this color yet. But maybe this could give an idea which paint to try, nine09nueve explains it in this thread: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=64353 You have to take some RGBhexcode from a website and enter it into a database which then tells you which paint of which brand matches best. At least in theory. If I you find a good match, you can share it in the thread if you like. Edit: Just saw that you posted in the thread already, so you most likely know everything I said already.
  22. I cannot believe it. Prices got even lower. I must be crazy.
  23. Hi, Brickforge has released the beautiful Elven Sentinel Tanglewood: http://www.brickforg...05&cat=0&page=1 Being focussed on elves, I would LOVE to make use of that for my custom army in the form of 1 regiment which means 9 figs. However, I do need all of the parts and I do not want so spend 9x6 dollars for a selection of parts I only partly use. The nicest parts are only availalable in the set and not seperately. Maybe YOU feel the same way, but only with other parts. IF this were the case, we could split the cost and maybe create a WIN/WIN situation. Parts I would definitely require: - shield Parts I could take if you don't want them: - spear - little sword Parts I do not want: - helmet - plume - bow - big blade If, for example, I would take the spears and the shields for 2,5 dollars, you would get all the other parts for 3,5 dollars . That is a good price for a lot of fine pieces, many of which are printed and two-colored. Shipping cost would be split equally. I live in Germany. I could extend the deal to 10 or 12 figs if we agree.
  24. They do not fit into my strict color scheme.
  25. [Review] RBC Tabard and Balaclava I recently got hold of a few of RBCs tabards and balaclavas. Maybe you will find it useful to have my humble opinion about them. Let us look at a few pictures first. The Tabard Tabards by MWardancer, on Flickr As you can see in this picture, the red tabard matches the original LEGO cape kind of well. If I were building a castle army, I would not mind the very slight difference. I do not have a dark blue LEGO cape, so I could not compare this. Also visible here is another difference. The TLG cape looks like machine made. Edges, angles and holes are all 100% clean, symmetric and straight. The RBC products have a bit of a handmade feel to them in comparison. Tabard Front by MWardancer, on Flickr Here you can see the tabard on a fig. It is easy and self-explanatory to apply, The arms of the fig need to be taken off. Tabard Back by MWardancer, on Flickr The picture from the back shows that the fabric will not cling to the body tight. I personally do not mind, it gives an airy feeling to the thing. Tabard Side by MWardancer, on Flickr Poseability is not affected as you can see here. The Balaclava Balaclava Color Matching by MWardancer, on Flickr In this case color matching is perfect. I am very picky and I think it looks like the real thing. Balaclava Front by MWardancer, on Flickr Does it make this fig look better? I think it does. It is compatible with the hood. Balaclava Front by MWardancer, on Flickr This is how it works. Verdict Tabard 7/10 + a good idea for a fun product + color matching in red is ok, other colors may be different though + poseability remains intact o the loose fit may be a matter of taste o edges and symmetry not 100% If I had a focus on castle factions, I would enjoy using these. Balaclava 10/10 + a unique idea as far as I know the market + compatible with hood + perfect color matching in dark green This makes virtually every minifig look cooler than before. I can think of numerous uses such as assassins, knights, mysterious ladies, dark priests or druids. I think this fabric ones are better than any plastic ones.
