I’m trying to find 4 x ‘Light Gray Brick, Round Corner 16 x 16’ in very good, or ideally, new condition (Link here). They are used in 10123 (Cloud City) so if anyone has one, or more, for sale at a reasonable price, please PM me!
-
Not sure if this counts, but I’ve decided to try and track down all of the parts for 10123 Cloud City (apart from the minifigures!) as I can’t stomach the cost of a MISB one. I’ve got about 20% of the 700 parts in my spares, which is a start. I’ve spent the last few nights creating a shopping list of the parts I need, and my first stop will be Lego’s ‘Pick a Brick’ at the end of November (so that I can pick up the second Holiday set at the same time). It looks like the most expensive parts will be the 4 x ‘Light Gray Brick, Round Corner 16 x 16’ link here so if anyone has any for sale or trade, please PM me! It’s the first time that I’ve tried to build a set this way and it’s actually really fun!

+1 for RubeusHagrid; brilliant trade, fast delivery, great guy -
Simply beautiful spacepilot3000! x 10 Incredibly accurate, great use of LEDs, and I love the little humorous bits you added (especially the skeleton!). I hope that Lego might produce something similar one day; I’m sure there are lots of UCS Falcon fans who would love to display their pride & joy like this (me included!). This is up to the amazing standards of ACPin, Brickplumber, Marshall_banana, Anio & Cavegod.

Your Slave 1 is superb, Anio. Although it may not be 100.00% accurate it’s the best version that I’ve ever seen, and always remember that you’re limited by the variety of elements that are available. If this was released as an official UCS set I’d buy one without hesitation, simple as that.
-
I was expecting someone to say that Mr Man! Well, it was included in the May 2011 promotional poster: http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/UCS_Promotional_Poster, it has a ‘10’ prefix and is expensive, so I’m sticking with my original statement

I really don’t see any genuine advantage in having the minifigures included within the Executor, and hope that they don’t repeat this in future sets of a similar scale. I had mine on display for a couple of weeks, but ended up adding the minifigures to my main collection as they simply didn’t ‘fit’ any way I tried. Most annoyingly, you can’t even store them inside the bridge as it was too small, so they had to lurk under it! I really like minifigures, but I think that Lego should stick to including them in minifigure-scale (e.g. 10179, 10212 & 10123) UCS sets!

Has anyone seen the UK (£) prices yet? I’ve just compared the UK (£) price against the (German) € price for two sets on the Lego website and it’s about £1 = €1.15, so on that basis the X-wing will be £60. Actually, considering the old version was £45 and this one looks a lot nicer (and presumably contains several more parts) it doesn’t seem too bad! If this is correct, the battle packs will be about £12.50, Tie Fighter £50 & the Droid escape £22.75 (which will presumably be rounded up to 22.99!) I’m really looking forward to next year, lots of nice OT sets to buy, I just hope they do a new Cloud City soon...

+1 for kyphur (great trade, really nice guy ) -
Hi, that's fine, whatever you have spare. Please can you PM me to finalise the details (I think that your inbox must be full as I can't PM you!)
-
Do you have any spare 30024 trucks? If not, anything else from the recent promo would be fine! Cheers, Robin

Hi, I've got 4 x Harry Potter Trolley (30110) & 5 x Republic Attack Cruiser (30053) polybags for trade. These are all brand new & sealed. I would be interested in a straight swap for other new & sealed polybags preferably within the UK, please PM with any offers. My Ebay username is 'hothbase' if you want to check my feedback

I found the only way that I could disassemble mine was to use the pliers on my Leatherman to very gently tease out the longer technic pins/bars from the wings and those used to connect the wings to the hull. I don't know if anyone managed it without resorting to simalar measures?! Still a great set though

Simply beautiful, ACPin! The detail is amazing and you even included R2 peeking in the window! It will be interesting to see what you decide to do for Episode VI.....

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Lobot replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Has anyone tried to build 10123 Cloud City from scratch? If so, does anyone have any idea what it cost to build? I'm not worried about the minifigures, I just want a copy of the actual set! I've spent an hour sorting through my spares tonight and found 137 of the 698 required parts (19.63%!). I had a quick look on the Lego site & they have most of the basic parts I need either via the 'Pick a brick' or replacement service, but there are several larger ones not listed (inc the larger rounded base plates & the column that forms the main structure for the carbonite chamber)...is it possible to source these without spending a fortune? Any advice would be really appreciated -
Thanks to everyone for the very positive comments, and a big thanks to M<0><0<DSWIM for the Brickshelf suggestion! I've slightly modified the original design & added some better pictures. I need to get some more 2x2 grey tiles for my episode VI build, which is going to be along similar lines

Thanks everyone for the nice comments, I'll try & sort out a Flickr account before the next Community Build! This must be the LEDs affecting the colours, I didn't notice it before you mentioned it Luke's hair is actually blonde; I borrowed it from the Luke in '7110 Landspeeder' - I know it's not perfect but it was the best I had!

Community Build: SW Episode V - Empire Strikes Back

Here's a link to my entry: Corridor Duel -
Bespin Corridor Duel This is my entry for the ESB Community build. I've always loved this scene and I was determined to have a go at re-creating it! I know that my Luke isn't the correct version and the wall colours aren't 100% correct, but I'm fairly limited for parts and 'Pick a brick' didn't have any dark red upslopes. I used four sets of the standard Technic LEDS to illuminate it. Maximum dimensions are 26 x 25 studs, now slightly modified from previous photos. Anyway, C & C welcome (but please be nice as it's my first attempt!) Luke looking apprehensive: Darth looking apprehensive: Without the roof:

I managed to find a bashed, but sealed, 7119 Twin-Pod Cloud Car for £14 plus P&P last week. I’ve been meaning to get one for a while, but never quite got around to it! It arrived today and it’s a great set. The ship is classic Lego, very swishible & nicely designed; Lobot is also very cute Highly recommended, but that’s it for me until Christmas.

Hi, I've managed to get hold of 6 new & sealed Promo 30053 Polybags. Edit: (5 now available as one is heading to the US!) These have been given away today with a newspaper in the UK. If anyone would like one, or all, of them please PM me. Ideally I'd like to do a straight swap for any other sealed SW Polybags, but please feel free to contact me if you have other suggestions! I'd also be happy to do a straight swap in the UK for the Harry Potter Lab (30111), if anyone has one spare! My Ebay username is 'hothbase' if you want to check my feedback. Cheers, Robin

Free LEGO promotion with UK Sun Starts Oct 8th
Lobot replied to tbroyd's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I've managed to get hold of 6 spare (brand new & sealed) Venators (30053), so if anyone from outside the UK is interested in one, or all, of them please PM me. I'd be interested in a direct swap for any other SW sealed polybags; my Ebay username is 'hothbase' if you want to check my feedback! Cheers, Robin -
I’m definitely in the ‘OT’ and ‘accurate’ camp on this question! In my opinion UCS sets should be i) impressive, ii) challenging to build and iii) as accurate as possible. Lego have a massive range of other sets, so I’m surprised that they would consider diluting a winning formula with the addition of unnecessary ‘play’ features....like a bridge, but the ‘GL’ factor does explain a lot! I can’t imagine that many parents could afford to buy this set for their kids....so the primary market must be solvent adults! Personally I would have been much happier to pay £25 less for the set & to not have the bridge or minifigures. I hope that Lego will eventually make a new UCS AT-AT; I have a 10178 and it’s a cracking design but not the prettiest of sets. Alternatively I’m sure that a new Slave 1 or a re-release of the Snowspeeder would do well. I’m not keen on the PT, but if they did a nice (3,000+ piece) Venator I would be tempted.

Well, I just finished building mine and thought that I should make some subjective comments. The ship looks far better in real life than any photos that I’ve seen, and it’s almost elegant. It’s very stable and the internal frame has been well designed. All of the sections lock together nicely and the engines, in particular, look beautiful I was surprised how colourful the interior is; lots of red, yellow & blue (!) but most of this disappears when the final plates are added. Actually the use of colour was very clever as it provided helpful reference points. It was nice to build but perhaps next time I’ll put all of the bricks in a large pile to make it more of a challenge; the numbered bags almost made it a bit too straightforward (but I’ll admit that I’m a bit strange like that! ) Yes, the bottom part is flat and in an ideal world Lego would have done something to make it a little more interesting, but this is similar to the original model. Other community members have made valid points about the greebling, and I can see why. It creates a nice effect, but I think that this would have been improved if they had used a greater variety of parts including light grey round studs, and possibly a few translucent 1x1 plates. Is it impressive? Yes. Is it expensive? Yes. Would I recommend it? Well, if you’re a UCS fan and can stomach the cost I would say yes, otherwise it might be worth waiting for a sale!

Well spotted! They're also 'selling' Death Stars & Robotic vacuum cleaners (they seem to like these for some reason! ) Standard, low value feedback, total scam
