  1. A WIP update for my Cloud City MOC, also my first attempt at using my new Canon 550d in low-light: Han looking a little worried: C & C welcome Cheers, Robin
  2. Excellent work Brickmamba! He's very cute Another vote for the purist version, and it would be great to have a copy of the instructions! I'm surprised that Lego hasn't released another version of the Dewback, it was have made a great addition to the Droid Escape set.
  3. Hi, I've just checked mine (purchased new from Lego) & it has 24 bags. It should weigh 4009 grams (including the box & instructions!). The wings are a bit repetative to build, but the finished result is well worth it! Cheers, Robin
  4. This looks most impressive StoutFiles! You've captured most of the key areas very well including the 'recycling' room where Chewie finds the remnants of C-3PO. I particularly like your Carbonite chamber, which is excellent As mentioned earlier you could add a little 'hatch' for Luke to fall out of at the bottom, with a small aerial for him to cling onto! Also, have you considered using (these) for the rails on the walkway? I found that they fit well with (these) and (these)! Anyway, excellent stuff! I'm really looking forward to seeing the final version; any chance that you could make the LDD file available?
  5. I'm really looking forward to seeing this StoutFiles, especially your design of the landing pad & carbonite chamber. I've been struggling to design these areas on my version (link here). I've been quietly hoping that the new Lobot minifigure is a sign that a new Cloud City will be released at some point this year. Perhaps I'm being too optimistic, but it does seem strange to release Lobot on his own!
  6. I just purchased (9490) Droid Escape from Asda for £17. Even with a 15% discount this set is expensive, so unless you want it urgently I'd wait for a decent sale!! I quite like the pod, some nice touches, but the swoop bike is fairly pointless. I'm still not sure if I like the detailing on the Stormtroopers, perhaps I'm getting old. C-3PO is the best part of the set by miles ; he's very cute although the dot printing of his eyes are high & right so he looks really puzzled!
  7. Please can you add Lobot to the list as we now have a nice photo of him (link here) No prizes for who I'm going to be voting for....! I'm still waiting for the UCS version
  8. At what point in Stoutfiles post (above) did he state that the Death Star II had scenes in it? It might be helpful if you actually took the time to read what he wrote, rather than pulling him up on an error that didn't exist!! Actually, a 'Death Star II' version of Cloud City would be amazing, and I'd certainly buy it However, it wouldn't be the easiest shape to accurately replicate in Lego....
  9. Thanks for the photo! 'rogueang' has also very kindly provided some other photos; it's great to be a part of such a helpful community. I want this set sooo much!! Cheers, Robin
  10. I think the key point here is that they haven't re-released a UCS set. Despite the huge popularity of this set, I doubt that it will be re-released, unless it's a updated version. That said, I hope they do as I'd love another one!
  11. I’d like to pass on my thanks to Anio for the considerable time that he must have invested in creating these instructions. I’ve just purchased a set, and they’re simply amazing; 135 pages in a .pdf format with easy to follow steps, including a detailed inventory of the parts required (inc. colours & part references). All that’s missing to make it totally perfect is an image of the Slave 1 blasting away from Cloud City! Highly recommended.
  12. A bit of a random request; does anyone have a decent quality photo of the back of the box for 10123 Cloud City? I can't find one anywhere! If so, please can you PM me & I'll confirm my email address. Cheers, Robin
  13. Thanks Anio. I just hope that it hasn't been 'influenced' by Mr GL like the Executor, otherwise it might include pop-out booster rockets & possibly a removable drinks serving tray!! I won't mention the possibility of Flick-fire missiles for the sake of Stoutfile's blood pressure..... I'm surprised that it's supposed to be 2000+ pieces, but it still looks quite promising to me.
  14. My entry can be found here: (Watto's Junkyard) Cheers, Robin
  15. Thanks for the comments everyone, really appreciated I've added a couple of extra photos which I took in daylight. He's standing in for a battered protocol droid that's in the scene. If you look closely he's lurking at the back of the room and crashes to the floor when the Pit droid runs away! Thank you!!
  16. This is my entry for the Episode I Community Build Ok, I'll admit it that this isn't my favourite SW film but I thought that I'd give it a bash. I simply refuse to own a Jar-Jar Binks so he's missing from this scene. I was debating doing an 'alternative version' with Ben Kenobi slotting Jar-Jar with his lightsaber But I digress.... Anyway, I'm moderately pleased with this; as usual limited by my supply of spare bricks & talent. I used a couple of screenshots as a guide. I'm quite pleased with a couple of the robots; I wanted to build the pit droid in brown, but 'Pick a brick' didn't have the necessary parts available so dark grey will have to do! It's 30 x 24 studs & illuminated by 5 x sets of Technic LEDs. Credit to Lego for the design of the white Gonk Droid which is very similar to the Sandcrawler version & the 'rebreather' on the floor (I love the design!) Anyway, I hope that you like it. C & C welcome Watto spots another sale: A slightly different angle: The (unusual) suspects: From above (without the LEDS): Edit: New photos added
  17. Excellent work Praiter Yed! This looks really professional & it’s obvious that you’ve put a lot of time & effort into it. I love Luke’s hat, really cute! Keep up the great work!
  18. That must be a very impressive sight; actually I'm having a slight problem visualising a pile of Lego boxes that big!! I now understand how you've managed to collect 1000 clones.....! Are there any SW sets that you don't own? Cheers, Robin
  19. Hi Markus, you can embed photos in a post by using the 'insert image' icon located in the toolbar (if you move your pointer over each icon it will confirm what each one does!). It has a tiny tree image on it (in-between the chain & envelope icons! ) I hope that this helps. Cheers, Robin
  20. I've just done a quick price calculation for Jabba's Palace (using the Lego £-$ exchange rate ) If it's $119.99 then it should be £102.99 (based on 8098 - Clone Turbo Tank & 7964 Republic Frigate).....I can live with that, and if it's available via Amazon it should be a bit less eventually!
  21. I saw this last night on Ebay, and I couldn't believe it! (link here) As the auction is now over I assume it's ok to mention it; this is the highest that I've ever seen one sell for!! It wasn't even new... at least I'm not feeling quite so bad about spending £750 on mine (which was still sealed)
  22. Thanks LEGOman273 for the photos The new Lobot looks beautiful, my life is almost complete!! All I need now is a new UCS Cloud City for him to administrate.....!
  23. Thanks for the photos CM4S The sub doesn’t look that much of an improvement on the old one, and I’ll be giving that one a miss. However, the Skiff looks really good and a lot more detailed than I expected. I can see this in the £25-30 price bracket; it will be one to buy for me. I love the new Boba - finally a chance to get printed legs without having to spend £100+ on a Cloud City version!!
  24. Skyhopper Pilot, numerous Rebel Pilots (Green & Orange), Greedo, Royal Guards, Bespin Guards, Senator Palpatine, R-3PO to name a few. I'm genuinely really impressed by the new photos of Jabba's Palace, it's a vast improvement on the earlier prelims. My favourite part is the shape of the roof! I just hope that it's not going to be over £100; it looks similar to (7879) Echo Base which is £92 for 768 pieces & 8 minifigures so it should be around this? I can see this being an exclusive.....but perhaps I'm being too pessimistic
  25. Is that a UCS Slave 1 (minus wings) in the middle?.....Oh, that would be soo good. Either that or the Probe Droid, or the FX-7 (ish) one; they would all be cracking sets to own
