  1. Approx dimensions as follows (it's not the easiest shape to measure accurately! ) Length = 47cm Width = 32cm Height = 12cm I'd almost forgotten what a nice set this was (apart from the 'essential' flick-fire missiles), highly recommended!
  2. I've just started building mine (again) so I should be able to give you the dimensions tomorrow. Is it only the width and length that you need? Cheers, Robin
  3. I'm really looking forward to getting this set, as soon as it goes on sale! I refuse to spend £10 on it, although I love the new Lobot figure
  4. MISB 8038 Battle of Endor, £90 including delivery. If only it didn't include the sodding ewoks!! I'm planning on building my own version of the battle at some point....
  5. Lego S@H (UK) has Palpatine's Arrest 9526 available for £59.99, it almost seems quite reasonable for 645 parts! (link here)
  6. And another total 'bargain': link here Reported!
  7. +1 for Lego_Hero Excellent trade, really nice guy to deal with!
  8. That's a great collection of Hoth Rebels, rogueang! I haven't seen so many before in a group, it makes a nice change from clones, stormtroopers, battle droids etc. Did you Bricklink them, or have you got 40 Zev Senescas as well?!
  9. 1 x 8083 new Rebel Trooper Battle Pack 3 x 8084 new Snowtrooper Battle Pack 3 x new Hoth Rebels.....all via Bricklink, total of 19 minifigures (I'm going through a 'Hoth' spell at the moment!)
  10. The set looks even better in the new photos, and it's very tempting! The rancor strikes a nice balance between detail and still looking like it has Lego 'roots'. I just hope it's not going to be more than £65, othewise it's going to be a rather pricey when combined with Jabba's Palace. Hopefully, both sets will be discounted quickly!
  11. I just completed this for you, good luck!
  12. I've used byggeklodsen (link here) 4 times in the last couple of months and the service has been superb. High quality parts, very reasonable prices and fast delivery. 100% recommended!
  13. Thanks for the comments guys, really appreciated I had this idea as soon as the competiton was announced; it didn't turn out as well as I had hoped but it was really difficult to create a frame that I could hide the LEDs in, without it looking too 'blocky'!! Cheers, Robin :-)
  14. Hi, this is my entry for the Astromech Workplace Contest. R5-J2 diligently watches over the main Death Star tractor beam, ensuring that it's working at an optimum level. However, his commendable efforts are about to be ruined by the meddling of a certain Jedi! I'm surprised that the main override control wasn't password protected....the benefit of hindsight I guess. Illuminated by official Lego technic LEDs. Main view: Lower down: Side view: C & C welcome. Cheers, Robin
  15. The new TIE Fighter (9492) on sale, reduced from £49.99 to £34.99. Well worth it with a 30% reduction; the Death Star Trooper, Imperial Officer & R5-J2 are soooo cute!!
  16. Great review KielDaMan! I doubt that I'll be buying this, it's just not for me; I'm trying to concentrate on OT sets and this doesn't have anything to really tempt me. Oddly the cost doesn't seem too high to me (RRP of £54.99 in the UK) but perhaps that's because of anomalies with exchange rates?
  17. Close, the torture droid is called EV-9D9, and she was female (apparently!)
  18. I was trying to avoid buying Jabba's Palace because of the ridiculous RRP, but the new set has tipped the scales for me. My favourite part is the dungeon....I love the mix of colours
  19. Thanks for the comparison cavegod! I'll amend my previous comment, actually the cockpit doesn't look that bad after all..the 'canopy' just looks a bit to narrow to me. The image on pages 146-147 of Sculpting a Galaxy suggests that it should be; perhaps it just needs some sloping pieces either side of it? I'm surprised how relatively inexpensive this will be in the UK (it's UCS after all!), so I'll probably end up getting it when it's double VIP time, or similar. Shame they didn't put some power functions in it though, it would have been a nice addition
  20. Most of the parts are readily available, but it was difficult to find enough of them! I copied the inventory from Bricklink & saved it in Excel, and kept a running total of the parts that I'd ordered and received. Using this method I only ended up ordering 2 parts that I didn't need! Try to order as many parts from one supplier as possible as the postage costs are significant. Some of the orders I made included parts for another couple of projects I'm working on, and it's a good way of making up minimum orders (or you could always increase your minifigure collection if needed ). Thanks! I can't take any credit for them though, it's the camera. I recently purchased a EOS 550d; it's 18mp & each file is 6-8mb, all of the photos are reduced by 86% to keep the mods happy!! It's just a shame that we're having such a rubbish 'summer' in the UK as the light has been awful The parts I need are available on Bricklink but the only seller with any decent numbers is in the US and doesn't ship to the UK I've managed to find a very helpful US EB member who's offered to order them for me, in exchange for a few minifigures, so it should be possible...I'm going to wait until these arrive before I make any serious orders! Thanks I'm really surprised how much it 'twists' on the stand Why didn't they use the thicker technic beams with the studs on one side? They could be covered in tiles to make them look a bit less prominent. I'm rubbish at modding so I'll leave this to other, far more talented, EB members
  21. Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I just might be.....if I can source 7 rare parts that I'm currently trying to track down. It will be another UCS, there's a clue buried in the sell/trades if you're interested
  22. I'm quite impressed by most of it, apart from the cockpit which looks awful! It looks like a last-minute 'that will do' sort of solution. Also, are the small 'cannons' at the front just gold lightsaber hilts? I'll probably give this a miss unless it's less than £200; do we have any idea on the part count?
  23. 'The Emperor interrupted Vader's contemplation with a cackled remark to Luke. "As you can see, my young apprentice, the deflector shield is still in place. Your friends have failed! And now..." he raised his spindly hand above his head to mark this moment: "Witness the power of this fully armed and operational battle station." He walked over to the comlink and spoke in a gravelly whisper... "Fire at will, Commander."' 'A thick beam of light slowly pulsed from a long, heavily blockaded shaft. On the outer surface of the completed half of the Death Star, a giant laser dish began to glow. Luke watched in impotent horror, as the unbelievably huge laser beam radiated out from the muzzle of the Death Star' All finished!! It's been quite a challenge, but worth it
  24. Thanks for the comments everyone I'm almost done, another hour tomorrow & I'll finish. I refer you to a previous update (copy below) I always knew that I'd find a use for the skeleton in the Wampa set! Cheers, Robin
  25. Update: Getting there!! A couple of hours of building and it's starting to look almost finished. It feels a lot more solid than before, but it needs a stronger attachment to the stand! Hopefully, I can finish it by tomorrow night.... Cheers, Robin
