  1. Hi GuiliuG, I just wanna say that you archive a really good overall redesign of the U400 pneumatic arm on your U20 unimog. Simply put you made the right design considering that the U20 mostly appeals to afol's and not kids, and therefor you choose to base your redesign on cylinder brackets. I think that I even might want to undo my own arm and rebuild it, because right now it features three paralle connected cylinder instead of two in series, which is a solution I think is to crude.
  2. AKM_76 First of all welcome on EB(eurobricks). 1. Not essential but a very good start, mainly because of the PF elements, that is the PF L motors are now regarded as the best drive motors and with good mounting points. Secondly you get a PF Sv, which over time will save you a lot of trouble makeing another solutions to steering. And then there is the V2 IR R/C unit. But do keep in mind that there are roumors of a upgrade(or second edition) pf m motor that better matches(or Works) the new v2 ir unit - find the story over at http://technicbricks.blogspot.com 2. Easy it the 58122c 01, that is the best unless you take in to account those remotes that people build which uses both. Mainly because the latter has the advantage of giving steep ir commands, while the other works with speed dials, then you risk you car driving away todo it being out of range of the remote. 3. It depends on how much Money you are willing to Invest in it, the big 9V box(6 x AA) has the advantage of giving the higest voltage but also being the biggest, and most expensive todo it need refresh batteries. Of note is it that frome time to time people have dream of coubling several box together, either in paralle or serial connections.
  3. D3K that looks like a really good quick moc. And your model shows how usefull the small la can be, which I don't have any of together with the new small turnable(both parts are in my view some of the most impontant newer technic pieces). Which mean that is about time I soon either buys new stuff(read big technic sets) or gets shopping on BL, it is easter after all(I don't celebrate it at all being an atheist - but my familiy and friend does).
  4. I properly have, the front Axel for instance incorporates Nicjasno complete redesign (he wrote about it long ago, and made an YT video), with my small change to allow it to use the new style gear but with the same ratio. Then the last change is moving away from differentials on the axels and using knob wheels instead, but keeping the center differential. That is in my view a fair tradeoff because yes, it remove realism (that the wheels do not rotates independently of each other), but then it give better driving performance. And as I said back then it is a really great improvement over TLG design but its quit part expensive as he also noted himself, but I regard it as an essential upgrade (change) for proper functioning steering with servo r/c of it.
  5. Yeah Pat, I do - please just call me "Jacob"(or informally by my nickname, "Jake"). I have for more much longer than a week felt(it’s properly two or three weekends since the main rebuild was done), bad for not posting to this thread, but my time is limited and I want to polish all the truck befor uploading it. And my Unimog include many improvements from different people, who all have uploaded their improvements to this thread, so yeah I have read the thread and been inspired, and all the same I have for some part “just” integrated different mocs into one. The other highlight of this winters rebuild include that I have swapped a PF M for a PF Sv for steering, and change that motors location two times(I am merely annoyed that didn't realize the second was possible before just replacing the motors, the first time)!
  6. Inspired by the talk of Eigenbroetler & Pat-Ard, I just finished building a U400 cab where the battery pack is mounted (or more precisely suspended) under the roof. Moreover, and best of all, my pneumatic raising function is strong enough, to still raise the cab(I was worried that it might not have the strengt, and due the design of the cab there are very few other ways of mounting those cylinders, if I was to maintain the orgrinal look of the U400).
  7. What cool tractor, and quit nice feature set.
  8. DLuders I have that already in on my mind, but I ain't sure if it is so bad as to ask for a replacement.
  9. Hi Guys A few days I got my self a 9398 set for only 989dkk(133 euros) in Bilka(a major supermarkedet store in DK). Anyway after I got home, I didn't play with the motors as I normaly would mainly because I simply wanted to build the 4x4 offroader. But after I had assembled the 2/3 of the set, I got some batteries in it, and fired it up. Thats when I got a bit annoyed/shocked/scared to notices that the front motor sounds much louder than the other motor. It some kind of of squick sound that, aint healty when compared to the other. Have anybody else notices different noises from the PF L Motor?
  10. That just blew my mind, that chair got the scale of the really technic/mindstorm creations showed during conventions like legoworld. Really really good job:thumbup:
  11. I knew, it just anoyes me that I was in such a hurry that I din't grab. Detailed pictures of the crane, that could been useful for everybody if lasse had allow for posting them. Also my position compare to the dslr zoom was a perfect fit. But I didn't shoot any shoot of the crane...
  12. My video is a per my principles free to see of everybody if they got the link. And I normaly disables YT comments and sometime I add link to the EB thread in the text description text field on YT. To keep the talk here on EB for serious afol where it belongs. eh? Posted by me? Because there is only one version my video filming the crane online on youtube as far as I know. And it is not at nice video, I could have kicked the mother in her big butt, she just walked in front of my filming(and didn't trust her son nor the crane, I belive she was too cautious around Lasse's crane). And I don't recalling who was operating the crane then, either it was Lasse or a random kid. But I had turn controlling it before I filmed, and I managed to control and raise up the crane with a contain without trouble. Then I went around around the show hall, and got back to film it and small talk with Lasse whom I didn't and still don't know.
  13. Lasse, It was I who filmed the big red container crane you showed off. And because I have gottan my inet's connection tripled from 1Mbit to 3Mbit then I will see if I can renember to reuploade it in full 1080p as it is strait for the dslr sometime late I a bit busy for the next few months. http://youtu.be/1rIpJWeemPI Video
  14. My main 2h 2013 wish would be a forklift released as a flagship/top-of-the-line-set forklift(for next year). Last I recall haveing seen a proper one was in the Forklift Transporter, where the forklift was extremely plain. Functions should/could be something similar to 8043 five/six functions dependig on where we count switching the gear box. Basic features could include.: * 1 x PF-L(or pf-xl depending on weight and speed) for drive(crawler reuse) which should be a simple four wheel base * 1 x PF-S for steering(crawler reuse), and they could make the back wheels turn as on comon real forklifts * 1 x PF-M for a pneumatic compressor(unimog style) * 2 x PF-M for pneumatic valve control or two electro-pneumatic-valves(Tlg design team desicion and I preferre the intergrated option) * 1 or 2 pneumatic extra long cylinders to raising and lower the forklift's forks, dependig on its power * 1 big pneumatic cylinder for tilting the mast. I know it could be in the high price range of common technic flagship. But it got a few arguments going for it.: *The technic design team is know for a too strong liking one constructions machines as technic sets. *Heavy part and design concept reuse from older flagship sets(crawler and unimog) *Fit the constructions machinecs series nicely *Only the pf-pneumatics-electro-valve and the extra long pneumatics cylinders are new parts. That whould also fit LEGO's refurbishment/expansion of the pneumatics line, as they started on during the unimog.
  15. Nice small scala moc, it look very real, and I like the yellow/red rescue color team(like life guards at the beaches)
  16. That is a realle well done scale technic moc, and with lot usefull functions too.
  17. Foggy - I understand you, but the thing is that a couple of years ago I brought four pf-xl off lego@shop some I am not really in need of electric pf stuff from the dozer.
  18. Blackbird, I can most your arguments and tend to agree with them. And I have longe decide not to buy the dozer because is cost 200% of the price it was release at on bricklink. I more just that I wonder how much of a premade plan that lego had premade plan for PF back in 2007. So as it looks right now I am, not buying the old dozer nore the 9398(crawler) insteade I found a uses but never opended 8043 that is about €47 cheaper than on BL:cry_happy:
  19. Hi are there anybody out there that has the bulldozer from 2007 and would care todo a good review off it? Like those of Sariel, Blackbird and technicbricks.blogspot.com ? Because I am starting to looking to recent history of LPSS/PSS/PF(Lego Power Functions System), from 8275 up till the release of the 9398 and the 8043 in between. Like what reason TLG could have to relase the dozer without the LA for the bucket/blade and the show how it could be done next year in the b-model of the 8043. It simply makes me thinking about if the considering release the dozer in a few year with the new PF RC2 units and once again uses the PF XL, witch I haven't seen i a technic since there release.(And I don't have the 8275 and I have come to regret quit alot since...) Sorry guys, I should have used the search function. There is a review here.: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=10690&st=0&p=180947
  20. Speaking of Philo, I am looking forward to the time when i he get around around to study the new PF-SV motor. I don't know if has just gotten a crawler(9398) or if has got the PF-L motor from somewhere else.
  21. The problem is also a bit similar to the differences between, 4265a - Technic Bush 1/2 Toothed Type I and 4265c - Technic Bush 1/2 Smooth And honestly I sometimes misses the old hard to disassemble part, it is usefull if what to make something really sturdy. But I agree for "everyday" moc the smooth bush is much easier to handle.
  22. I have ob several time noticed the same kind of dust from the orange axle mounting hole on pf-xl motor. And I can't decide for self it is intentional from tlg or it because that they put under high load.
