CHALLENGE 6: I am Legion.
Captain BeerBeard replied to Captain BeerBeard's topic in Guilds of Historica
I got a freebuild or two in me. I'll see what I can do. I think I have a good idea started in my mind and just got a ton of bricks organized. Maybe in the next week something will materialize. -
CHALLENGE 6: I am Legion.
Captain BeerBeard replied to Captain BeerBeard's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks again! The Kali scene was a pleasure. @Erynlasgalen I see what you mean. I should have had some headless handcuffed minifigs in the scene. I didn't realize the barbaric savagery my scene portrays. -
Hmmm... It's a decent scene but I would not use barrels. Scenes like this are used for setting up stories in mocs. I personally would not make an individual moc like this. A scene like this fits best in a story moc accompanied by another couple mocs in the same post.

I like this as an entrance way. That is a cool idea storywise. I don't like the roof design so much though. I think your idea's with the stone work are superb. I will be posting a roof tutorial soon. Make sure to check it out.

A Refuge in the Rakath Mountains
Captain BeerBeard replied to Kai NRG's topic in Guilds of Historica
Nice vig. I'm not sold all the way on the snow but it is pretty good. Cool thing to see you try something different. I like the the 1x2 knob plate usage. Nice story too. Keep'em coming! -
I really like this. Great details and figures. I like the use of the mines of moria stickers too.Keep'em coming!

[REVIEW] 70400 Forest Ambush
Captain BeerBeard replied to vriverajr3's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
If I was in charge of making these figures, you guys could not get enough. These have to be the worst in years. -
Thanks for the review! You have some great pictures of the set. Now on to my personal opinion of these terrible sets. Glad to know I'm not the only one that thinks these sets are awful. These minifigs make my eye's hurt. The set design is terrible. Who is responsible for these color choices? The minifigs look so bad. I can't get over how ugly the colors are. The two factions next to each other look awful. They don't compliment each other how the Kingdoms factions did. Look at how cheap the plain legs look with the cheesy torso prints. The main reason to buy a set is for figs or pieces. This has neither. I won't be buying any of these except the set with the dragon. I showed my son the pictures of these sets and he thought they sucked. The only one he liked was the one with the dragon. I can't believe these sets are going public. Who's going to buy this?

Challenge VI: A Song of Orcs and Fire
Captain BeerBeard replied to Gideon's topic in Guilds of Historica
Some great builds here. I love the interior. The micro is great. The focus really helps sell the scene. Your other scenes have their strong points as well but some weak point too. Overall an awesome entry and I look forward to many more builds from you. Awesome stuff!- 31 replies

CHALLENGE 6: I am Legion.
Captain BeerBeard replied to Captain BeerBeard's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks, again. I appreciate everyone taking the time to comment. As far as badges go, I got Nu Breed. What can I get better than that? Now I just have to outdo myself. I hate the idea of that. It's going to be hard. -
Challenge 6: The time has come!
Captain BeerBeard replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
Very nice! I see you've been influenced by Avalonian architecture and fashion. The siege tower is epic! It looks like it's straight from Brotherhood. All your scenes are very solid but I don't expect anything less from you. Your interior scene are very stylish and fancy but in the one, you forgot to connect the pieces on the floor. Awesome job  Your best so far.- 24 replies

Challenge VI - Battle for Historica
Captain BeerBeard replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
Awesome! You finished! The river scene is really nice. I really like the stream and those flowers in the foreground are so pretty. The Varlyrio scene gives me a Venice vibe which I like. The scene is pretty small but you managed to fit in a few unique architectural styles that compliment each other. Your interior is tied for my favorite GoH interior. The color scheme is perfect as is the building. Great job! -

Challenge VI: Friend or Foe...
Captain BeerBeard replied to Erynlasgalen's topic in Guilds of Historica
Nice! All three scenes are great. I love your color schemes. The arches are awesome. You put the Chima parts to good use. I personally don't like those but you used them really well. The mushroom scene is my favorite. Awesome job. -
I'm glad you made an entry! It's been a while since you posted. The interior has some great details despite feeling a bit unfinished. The second part has some great action with the classic castle "vintage" feel to it. It's much better, though than the old catalogs. The story is hilarious for the celebration. I love celebration scenes. Nice job!

Challenge VI: Taking Back Historica
Captain BeerBeard replied to Torgar's topic in Guilds of Historica
Most impressive builds!! For the most part, I love your building style. You have an extremely clean, very detailed style. I'm very upset that you have so few views. Your moc's are amazing. -
Challenge VI: Historica United
Captain BeerBeard replied to ZCerberus's topic in Guilds of Historica
Awesome! These are your best moc's ever. Marecroft Mannor is jaw dropping gorgeous. The hand mosaic looks amazing. You could double it as a LotR moc. Most impressive entry. -
Very nice! Love the candles dripping. It all looks good.

Challenge VI: Eric Grimmson Abroad
Captain BeerBeard replied to kabel's topic in Guilds of Historica
That Varlyrio scene is beautiful! I love every detail. Everything just works so well. Your tavern interior is really nice too. I like the walls a lot. The second floor woodwork has a really nice solid design. Your ship design is great. I'm a big fan of these small ships loaded with details. Your photos look considerably better than before. Great job. -
