  1. Lots of great detail, well done! I'm a sucker for for these building rows. I really need to get started on my own. Great job!!
  2. The lighting used in this is just simply amazing. What an interesting model, keep up the great work. Absolutely stunning, really.

    Big Apple Diner

Brilliant design! You've even got the kitchen vent fan on the place! The interior is out of this world, you really nailed it with the stove and sink area. Such a beautiful design. Outstanding work!!
  4. And there is your answer. It won't hurt the tires at all.
  5. This is one of the nicest MOC space ships I have seen. Great job on this. If this was a Lego offering I would definitely buy it. I really like the functioning lights on this, outstanding work!!
  6. I've actually designed many train layouts in n scale but not in Lego yet. The basic principles are the same though. You've got some decent track plans there and either one would work. The idea is to come up with something based on operations or what you want the "train" to do. Many track plans are designed around the purpose of the trains meaning what buildings does the train need to visit and what cargo is being used. For a basic "show" layout a simple oval with some sidings and buildings will work. If you want to get complicated then design it so several trains can run at once with purpose. The top track plan won't really work for multiple operations but the bottom one will. Out of these two I would shoot for that. If your looking for additional designs try a local hobby store that sells model trains. They usually have track plan books that you can look through to get other ideas. I would also keep from having an unreachable switch. The idea may seem fine now but later you will regret it. You may also want to try adding height to the rails here and there. By the way, will this be Power Functions or 9v?
  7. I've noticed in several other forums that they often have a community build where interested members contribute a MOC to a specific theme with specific rules in place. The question is, has this ever been done in the train forum? The other question, would it work? It seems like the Star Wars and Pirate folk do these types of things often and I would love to see what the train community could offer. Being a newer member I don't know the rules on starting such a thing and I know we would need staff permission at least from The Brickster I would imagine. So, thoughts, comments and whatever else. And remember I said "would this work?" ------- EDIT: I've added a poll to help promote ideas and let us keep track of what our EB Train Community might be interested in seeing. Please take a moment to vote. -TheBrickster Prize Ideas: Aside from a Train Tag for the winner(s), please share your ideas for any non-physical award/prize (eg. front page recognition, a picture next to me (okay: just threw that one in for fun ), the winner gets interviewed, etc, etc...
  8. I'm just curious to how you have come to this conclusion?- besides the background- A couple of these images have been floating around for a month or so and certainly don't look like imitations or custom work. I'm really getting excited over the butcher. An army of butchers, I can see it now. They still haven't released series 5 around here so I better calm myself.
  9. This goes for all Lego sets that are no longer in production. When it comes to Star Wars the prices get ridiculous especially on eBay and many of them sit around because no one will pay the insane prices being asked. Lego has a way with re-releasing sets like the Imperial Star Destoyer. The second one apparently not as nice as the first. They also re-released the town holiday sets which really pissed off the hoarders because they couldn't charge 10x their value anymore. With that said we may see this set again but toned down some.
  10. I'm really hoping that this is true. The Statue of Liberty, Butcher and Genie are my favorite out of these and I would really like the chance to own them. These are definitely getting better with every series.
  11. Completely agree. The flex track is not one of Legos best moments.
  12. I saw Back To The Future in here and couldn't agree more. God, I would love that. Mega Man would work too. Anyone remember Mega Man from the NES? What a great series.
  13. Probably making room for new POTC sets coming out soon.
  14. Lol! I wish I could be around when everyone has a Mohawk.

    My town

Excellent work there. I really like the theater and hotel, both have an authentic look to them. I'm curious if these buildings were your own design or if you found various building instructions? The reason is I wouldn't mind building that Theater, what a great MOC!! Keep up the great work, definitely a town to be proud of. By the way, great idea for the Hazmat guys!
  16. Just got the Rebel Trooper Battle Pack 8083 for $1 off!! Yeah, yeah big deal. Waiting on another Target clearance event to clean up.
  17. Not a bad improvement at all. I've always liked this set but agree that its lacking in detail. There is very little room for adjustments but I think you did a nice job on it. I may actually pull mine out and see what I can come up with.
  18. I've always enjoyed reading these types of threads in the other areas of EB so I'm definitely up for this one. I agree with some that have already posted. We need new trackside structures, an engine house is overdue. It's so hard to imagine what Lego will really do but I'm hoping the success of the Emerald Night and Maersk will continue a yearly tradition. At least one new loco per year would be great. The last year or more has been train heavy so there should be a spike in those sales for TLC. I would like to see more thought go into the trackside structures and not the basic builds from the early 90's. Who really knows what's going to happen but an engine house, yeah that sounds good to me.
  19. Stopped in at a Kmart of all places and found set 3367 Space Shuttle for 50% off. It came out to $15 American. Not a bad score for a newer set.
  20. Batman, Western and the Santa Fe train. Luckily I will have a chance to aquire some Batman sets and other super hero's as well so that's pretty cool. I've almost won some of the western themed sets on eBay but lost out. The Santa Fe locomotive and cars are just too much. I just refuse to pay the going rate on those trains.
  21. You certainly make some valid points, Big Cam. You normally do ( dont let it go to your head). I guess the question really is- do I want to sell this later down the line? Ehhh, not really. Even if I change my mind later I'll keep the box, instructions and so on. Not only that but in ten years Lego will probably remake it a hundred times better. I'm convinced. Construction will commence this evening. Thank you all
  22. I completely agree. I would love to see pictures as I can't grasp what that would look like!
  23. I really enjoy MOCs like this, you don't see them very often. I really like movie sets that have that feel to it like "I am Legend" and this pictures that feel amazingly (condemned, ruined). Traditional Lego's are used to build something "new" not something destroyed and you managed to do a beautiful job at that. I can't wait to see more of your work. Well done!!
  24. I definitely agree on that. I really wish I could have landed one of those. Perhaps I'll take the plunge and open 6211. Why the hell not, right?
  25. Thanks for the great review. I don't care what anyone says, I think it's a great set. I was planning on buying it when I found out it was getting released but the review got me even more excited! Thanks again.
