  1. I very much enjoy these older set reviews, as I was far into my dark age at the time, which I came out of just a few years ago. So a lot of it is new to me, thanks.
  2. Hmm, that is definitely not the same model and looks to have much fewer parts and attention to detail. Would be interested to know more about it though.
  3. Seems like an unusually fair price to me considering all the cylinders and great part selection, especially when compared to recent pneumatic offerings, I consider the tow truck to be a good bargain as well. That's something I rarely say anymore about any LEGO set.
  4. Oh man, how depressing, lol, I have about the same size collection, in dire need of sorting and storage, will be moving this summer. I guess I better get cracking. My problem is whenever I start sorting, within ten or fifteen minutes I start experimenting with different parts, then next thing I know I am moccing and digging out already stored bricks, lol.
  5. I want to be excited about this set, love the car, unfortunately after building the Camaro and continually rising prices, I am at best hopefully optimistic. Patiently awaiting pictures and other info, it is discouraging though, even though I have all the other cars of this theme/style and love them, the Camaro really disappointed me, unlike the Speed Champion sets which seem to improve with each new wave, new useful parts, interesting build techniques and reasonable pricing is what sells me.
  6. Right on, thanks for responding, it is great to see how much fun you are having, pushing LEGO to the limits. Looks like the glue bottle got a little out of control there, I wonder if maybe there is a better way of preventing tire slippage on the rim.
  7. Very interesting, I am most interested in how you achieved positive castor angle.
  8. Lol, since I picked that set up last week at Target, that is one reveal I am no longer interested in.
  9. Welcome to Eurobricks, if one didn't know better, they would think you joined only to share a tik-toc video, lol. What did you find so great about it? Personally, I agree that it is pretty poor quality and not very entertaining, I guess I must be getting too old.
  10. It pains me greatly that the only reason at all, I am considering buying a $100 set, that in my opinion ain't all that, just to acquire a minifigure. Crazy, the thing is I will do it and TLG knows it. I just hope I am smart enough to pick it up on sale, at least 20% off, lol.
  11. This looks top notch and very well done, I can't even find something to be critical about. 👍
  12. Didn't the Target VIP thing end January 31?
  13. Now that is the LEGO of my childhood, very nice there @Toastie, man I hated those tires and rims. Mine actually looked like that, even back then, lol. Not sure if it was the desert climate but those tires would split in half and get hard, every single one I had, in less than 3 or 4 years. Of course they were played hard as well, hauled many a load. Thanks for the picture.
  14. I did this as well, works like a charm. You can experiment a little and find what works best for you.
  15. Managed to pick up 75348, Fang vs Tie set today at my local Target, a bit early I guess because I don't even see it on LEGO's website yet, probably work on it tonight, yay.
  16. I replied to this same exact topic a couple of days ago, trying to learn a little more about it and that thread was removed for some reason. Good luck with this one, lol.
  17. Lol of course not that would be ridiculous, sorry I guess I totally misunderstood what you were looking for.
  18. Wow, this is nothing short of amazing, I can only imagine the amount of time it took to design and actually make work.
  19. Welcome @Jecho66, I would suggest looking up the set on either bricklink or brickset, there you can view the parts list and find the appropriate part number, making your search much easier. There may be other easier ways of doing it but if you don't have the actual printed instruction book, that is the way I would do it. Obviously if you do have the instructions, just simply look at the parts list to identify the part number you seek.
  20. Definitely weird alright, I have exactly the opposite experience. I have been noticing that many parts have been retooled to make the injection points less noticeable, something I am very glad to see. More importantly though, I am interested in hearing more about how @technicboi is dealing with this ban situation. As someone that has only contacted TLG two times about missing parts, out of many hundreds of set purchases. Even though I have never had any issues with replacement parts, I do worry that TLG may decide to ban me as well, so much so that if a set is missing a common, inexpensive part, I don't bother to contact them. However if a sticker sheet is somehow damaged or I am missing an important semi-rare part I will not hesitate to request a replacement. Never have had even the slightest problem getting a replacement.
  21. Looks great, very well done. I did get a chuckle though as it reminds me a lot of Clark Griswold's Wagon Queen Family Truckster.
  22. To me it seems very odd for LEGO to resurrect a long dead theme just to add a diorama and a couple smallish play sets. It really just makes no sense, there has to be more coming.
  23. @Krxlion I love what you are doing and can appreciate that you are looking to stick with Technic parts as much as possible, just not my cup of tea, keep up the great work and keep us updated as you make changes. One thing though will you please turn the directional tires, with self cleaning tread around the other way, before my brain explodes, lol.
  24. Well as it turns out, the chain does actually operate very smooth. I jumped the gun complaining about it, after a few more steps there are some bits that help guide the chain and prevent skipping, should be more patient, lol. Glad I picked up this set now, was on the fence before but after building it I was pleasantly surprised. It's really not a bad set, I enjoyed the build and look forward to modifying it, the recolor looks great @JunkstyleGio. When you factor in the price, $50, it is actually not a bad deal and when it goes on sale I will probably pick up another set, just for the tires, rims and front forks, will be great for mocs. Nothing special but it is a solid set, I would recommend it to anyone looking to expand their parts bin and I can appreciate the build style, the way the engine is incorporated into the frame is pretty cool, even though the position and layout of the motor, just don't seem to make much sense, even though it seems to match the source material.
  25. I seem to be having a great deal of trouble with the chain binding up and skipping on the blue 12 tooth gear, I even tore the motor down and rebuilt it so it operates much more smoothly, had issues with a bent axle. I have tried flipping the chain around as well, no help. Do others have this problem, it is incredibly annoying and I find it hard to believe LEGO intended for it to work this way.
