  1. The old set there was room to add a m motor and a couple gears to make it "yaw" without too much modifications ... Hopefully that carried over. But realistically the blades spinning was enough and it did have decent pose-ability. Prototypically they yaw very slowly like 5- 10 min for 1 full revolution .
  2. I really like this one... Sorta old World downtown feel to it
  3. I like the cane parts usage... And the snot side details
  4. Got ya... Might be easy to color the wings on the male. I actually though emu/alpacha lol
  5. Really it turned out quite stunning for the dated material lol... Glad someone built it! ... Really bothers me though that I can see batteries and wires through the windows... Other than that I'm gripe free lol Good job on the design the doors are clever indeed
  6. These must be the females? With the males being colorful? Looking good is the design yours?
  7. I love this... Must visit on next port call!
  8. It looks slick but wonder if it will short out on the (low) electric lines lol
  9. I think this looks pretty dang close
  10. That's why my consist plans are for a open deck observation platform @Winchester I'm not familiar with the real train but yours looks well assembled... Do you plan to build other versions?
  11. I would disagree here. Not on all the detail custom parts. Sure you could over simplify the rods with technic, and it would have looked OK without the treads. But the wheels are a must (for this model). Also this wouldn't have been a show stopper without all the eye grabbers. As far as the lights... Lego lit trains in stock sets. Lego has lit buildings in stock sets. True the aftermarket lighting picks up where Lego left off but again it maintains the system connectivity of Lego. I think the only thing "non legoesk" is the smoke generator. Saying that... I intend to do the same on one of my trains... Why because it's a show piece and smoke/sound grabs crowds attention. I look at it this way... Lego could have done it. They didn't because after all they were built as toys. As a Lego hobbiest I feel OK with it as like you said "it maintains the spirit of lego"
  12. You beat me to it lol On his site (and ideas) there are several "other stories" you can build for this. I'm really glad I can see another set I supported become available. I really wish TLG would have kept the clasp but it's relatively unmodified from his original idea. And I'm glad Jason made the how to on the clasp!
  13. Yea birds was an issue on older turbine models as the "swept area"(where the blades turn) was shorter and thus making the gearing faster so the blades had to spin faster as the gearboxes were smaller. As technology improved the turbines got bigger allowing for better gearing. Most modern turbines spin 16-20 rpm at the hub now.
  14. I'm not sure I'm translating that correctly? ..... If I am I'm concerned for you lol
  15. That was part of our job... To find them... The problem isn't from the blades hitting them... It's the negative air pressure that follows the trailing edge it collapses their lungs they die instantly.
  16. You can add a decal to the inverted slope and "retain" the forward window... Looks real good... Your really crank oh no these out
  17. Do you happen to recall the P (or G number) is P22 or G15?
  18. @Bregir will need to confirm but I see no objection to you adding resources as long as the build is additional to your current required.
  19. Quite well executed nicely done!
  20. Very nice... The red or brown for sure!
  21. I love these... I seen them everyday of my childhood sitting outside the Chrysler Plant or cutting the town in half when they would stop and back into the plant lol I agree it would be nice to see them lower. Perhaps some snot and the smallest train wheels would give the impression. Would have to do some custom bracket for the coupler though to maintain height. Are they 4 studs hollow? Would be neat to make at least one this way as empties were doors open... Or have it being loaded
  22. Thanks! Yes my photos are a major downfall for me ... Poor lighting as I only have one lamp I can position. (there is no daylight available after work and no time before) couple that with a cheep cell phone camera. ... One of these days I'll have a better setup lol.
