So by far your best Ship to date! you should be proud of this one. it has curves and looks like a ship the masts are tall but a third mid section would help with this. the shrouds could be improved but it's not a deal breaker. you mentioned it was built as a "snow" a true snow would have a second smaller mast directly behind the current mast that the spanker attaches to. the storm has decent shaping but is mighty white... some accent would go a long way back there. I like the use of the shield on the stern as well however the half attached slope brick is off putting in its current presentation. but I really do like your creative method for hanging the yards

The settlement of Trador seemed to be the next logical step in the Eslodian markets. With its active wineries and current Cider production the network of goods was already set up. Plans had been drawn up and construction was now completed. Workers already had the first few batches run. This was a small factory compared to the other Bru-HaHa facilities with only a single pot which was much smaller. They found they could get 13 barrels per run after heads and tails were cut. Even though this was a small facility it was not by any means less state of the art. underground aging tunnels had been constructed under the streets and most never knew how expansive the tunnels were. This was also the first facility built with large windows low to the ground to encourage the public to view the process. Here a young family peeks in at the mash production The offices here are just large enough to conduct business as the facility is not open for tours. You'll also notice only dry stores are kept. Bru-HaHa belives fresh ingredients make a better bruh Another reason for choosing Trador. The Facility does not feel claustrophobic despite the majority of production being below ground level Another reason in favor of Trador is the constant patrols. Here you can see workers feeling safe beneath the streets in one of the underground storage vaults. However not everyone feels as safe from the patrols. Lets hope that poor inn keeper can calm his spooked horse before he looses his fresh shipment Another view of the facility where you can see the latest batch being completed and another batch being bottled for retail You'll notice the boiler is coal fired as you get a more controlled heat from coal then wood. You might also notice that the large elevated mash pots have direct plumbing to the boiler. Reducing the prep time needed to refill the boiler between batches. --------------- OoC: Comments and Criticism welcomed! This has been a fun build, and once again I am lead to believe that my computer in incapable of rendering over 10,000 bricks lol. I was lucky enough to get two before it began failing. This "small facility" will be licensed as a Large Factory. Also while I would have preferred to tile the mezzanine, the boiler poking through the floor could only be accomplished with the exposed studs as the only plate with the hole does not match up to any current tiles. I can tell you from experience reaching across 5 base plates without knocking everything in the path over is difficult not impossible but difficult when trying to retail trains in a layout -
[SR-FB] Restoring Order to Chaos
Roadmonkeytj replied to Roadmonkeytj's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thanks! The birds are actually what prompted the whole build... As I wanted to try my hand at some exotic fowl. Originally I was just going to have the males the left with the females... But as I was playing around with parts usage I decided the one on the right looked like its chest was puffed up. So I sound parts to make it looked like his feathers were ruffled. Then added the cocked wings i'm glad they take center stage -
MOC: The Great Sphinx

I really love your version! It's still playable while good enough to be displayed as a "dig site". The minifig face is simply fantastic! I have taken great inspiration from the Egypt sets as well unfortunately they were being released as I was entering my dark period so I missed slot of them but did pick up quite a few of the firsts lol- 24 replies

Nice little scene! I think the only improvement I would have included would be a horse dragging a log to the camp. -

Thanks that was the idea that they were further down the clearing I'm glad the lava translated. I looked at alot of pictures of the recent eruptions in Hawaii for inspiration on this one. Thanks for commenting! Thank you! -
Connect your "switched side" to a free axle so the movement of the train causes the other half of the mechanism to rotate.

Firstly my eyes were abused by the most lovely wall treatment I have ever seen ( I as well NEED to know where those tiles come from) as I looked around the room the candelabra was my next oh ahh moment … but then I scrolled and the entire build was nothing because I was staring at the beautiful planked flooring. seriously well done - all of the furniture compliments the floor and wall treatment and really gives off the feeling of wealth … great build!- 13 replies

[SR-FB] Restoring Order to Chaos
Roadmonkeytj replied to Roadmonkeytj's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thank you! The Birds resulted from several ideas scattered from places all over that I liked in brick built birds. This is how I accomplished the Kneeling pose - if using the sword holster the straight leg needs to be on that side and place a tile under the straight leg with the other leg on a stud top to get the gap right. Ive seen it done before with the arched piece but Ive never been happy with the straight leg so came up with my own lol. I will definitely have to give that design a try maybe there is a way to combine the two styles? Here is the way I did mine - in real Brick your able to push the trunk section further into the bush to hide the bar. I'm thinking the lower couple with my method do give the tree more width with the upper being done with the life ring should give a nice shape! -
Previously: Out of the Ashes -Roadmonkeytj To hell (and back?) -Keymonus Meanwhile in Acropolis -Keymonus Devastation of Charlatan Bay -Roadmonkeytj Waiting in the wasteland -Keymonus Those Damned Cannons -Keymonus Infero Pordejon, somewhere near to Northern Coast, 619 The new year had been a success so far - the retaking of the Hidden Battery allowed Gustaf to Direct ships to His Private Docks and also to the FTA docks. Both of which were out of reach of the main forts cannons, and well protected locations. Missives were sent out to begin smuggling supplies in under the cover of dark. Tristan and Gustaf had taken leave of the Patrols to do some hunting. Gustaf: Tristan do you see that up there? Gustaf: It never ceases to amaze me at how quickly Nature can restore order to her created chaos. The lava flows have recreated the territories and now the Males fight to reestablish their Positions in the Land. Gustaf: It seems we too fight to reestablish order, although it seems manmade chaos takes much longer to restore. However the work we have been doing has not gone unnoticed! I wanted to be the first to tell you that we have a new backer to our cause. As you know I'm a Member of the Board of the FTA. The decision was made Last night that the FTA will now finance Charlatan Bay back to its former glory with me as her Captain. I have it on good faith that with the Military supplies that your ship is bringing in combination with the goods that the FTA fleet is bringing next month we will be in great shape to continue our push into Low town. ______ OoC: This is a continuation of the Joint Story of Charlatan Bay Comments and Criticisms are welcomed Also this build is to Publicly declare Charlatan Bay is now Financed by the FTA with Gustaf VonBricktin [Roadmonkeytj] remaining as its Mayor. Currently the Port Still Remains Closed to Any Nations other Than Sea Rats without prior Approval (PM)

Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
Roadmonkeytj replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
. @Bregir @Capt Wolf @Ayrlego I know there are others in court but you've all been in this conversation. My frustrations are not with you or the "jobs" you do. My frustration is that overnight I'm being expected to absorb a 350db a turn bill. With no feasible way to accomplish this in a months time (the three builds I can licence prevent this) we (SR) think we have figured out a solution but my frustration is I've had 74 db a month for the better part of a year in land based income personaly and prior to this removal of income the settlement I manage took care of its own expense. Your getting rid of money out of thin air but expect players to come up with it from the same air. I don't have issues with the ruling more so the time frame to implement. -

Roadmonkeytj replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Oh even better. .... Well I can honestly say I don't know how much longer I will play.... This isn't fun.... Coming up with a way to make a fake megablocks settlement produce 350 fake money overnight is annoying to say the least. I joined this game to "Play with Legos" and to be in a community that enjoyed the age of sail as I do. I'm letting my frustrations show but as of this moment I honestly don't know how long I'll be around -

Charlatan Bay brings in 113DB a turn but has 350DB worth of expenses every turn .... It only had just shy of 400 in its account.... How long will it be OK? Just saying. We are scrambling on the faction end to remedy this... -

Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
Roadmonkeytj replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I have two questions. First with regard to Charlatan Bay. Can this be any property as long as its a royal in size? Second with regard to sister shipping. Why double? Are we trying to do away with Sisterships? It seems to me one would just build another ship. I guess I could understand an additional fee but double seems a little out there.
