Vote for your favourite Category A entries
LegoCityMann replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I joined a bit too late to be allowed to vote but if I could I would vote as follows: 20) Artist entry (Build by Lisqr) 2p (Absolutely stunning representation of one of the most famous paitings in the world) 30) The Monster Entry (Build by CorneliusMurdock) 1p (I love anything Vaudeville and the B&W shots just sell it. Good Luck to all the entrants and BRICK ON! ~LCM Edit by Rufus: Sorry, LegoCityMann, you're not eligible to vote. -
Absolutely Awesome All Around! I love the use of various minifigs as costume displays. If I may ask, where does that beautiful clock piece come from and does it work? Brick On! ~LCM

icy brick, Feel free to use/copy whatever you like. I will try and get a picture of the whole layout later tonight. So I've made a few improvements to the coffee shop and bank. To the Coffee Shop we've added some color to the top of the building, also a patio table with umbrella where one of our friendly bike cops have stopped for a cup. The City Bank Most banks here in the US have an architectural feature that is used in their feature feel. I've Purple Half Arch above the bank sign giving it a "wave feel" with the white "foam" underneath. We've repeated this in the teller windows, (which I've added another). Here I've added a small desk for people to ready their deposits or write their checks so they can be ready when they go to the teller. There is also a small movable railing to keep customers out of the banks "business" area. Upstairs we've added a swivel chair for the security desk (Still need some more monitors) and a few other chairs in the hallway. Must be a delivery day. Armed Stoneford Police watch over the delivery truck while the driver is making his delivery. Enjoy Comments, Questions, and Critiques always welcome. ~LCM

I immediately recognize that as a sheet metal brake. Looks just like the one my grandfather had in his shop. Nice work. Been doing a bit myself tonight. ~LCM -
Lego City Mann, or LCM for short. If you couldn't tell from my name I am a HUGE Lego City fan. I really enjoy the modular style of building and have been working on quite a few Modular style buildings for my Lego town. Pop on over to the Town Forum and check them out and say hello. ~LCM

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
LegoCityMann replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Bricktuts Blog has a supposed list of the Series 6 minifigs that was posted May 24th. Has anyone else heard of a list of the Series 6 Characters yet or is Bricktuts just wishful thinking? ~LCM -
Mail from LEGO, A Short Story Minifigs: Wow, A package came in the mail today from LEGO. I wonder what's in it? MBA Man: I'll open it and find out! HAZMAT Guy: Careful, it's a head and it's yellow. It might be radioactive. MBA Man: All our heads are yellow genious. HAZMAT Guy: Agggghhhhh!!!!!!!! Rocker: Don't worry guys, I'll get it! Hey it's kinda hard to breathe in here. It's like when I was backstage at that Cheech and Chong show man. Far out! MBA Guy: Doc, you sure you know what you're doing? Mad Scientist: Excellent, Oh, yes, don't worry. I've done head transpants many, many times! Mad Scientist: SILENCE! Almost there, almost there. So close! Mad Scientist: It's Alive, IT'S ALIVE!!! Muahahahahah! MBA Guy: Is my neck supposed to hurt. MAD Scientist: Oh that, Yea, don't worry about it. It'll go away in a few days. Announcer: with his proper head correctly attached LEGO MBA Man is once again off to battle in the depths of space to keep his home planet safe from the Evils of the Galaxy! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ OK, Just a little bit of fun. It was noted im my review of the LEGO MBA kit that the instructions, packaging, and marketing materials showed this figure with the Classic Head, but it actually came with the Neo-Classic head with eyebrows and a twinkle in his eyes. I contacted LEGO Customer Service by phone and discussed this with a rep and they sent me out the proper head. ~LCM

This MOC is actually a MOD of the City Bank. Although moved we still have the Skylight feature and the burglar breaking in. Complete with an enlarged bank teller counter. and customer area. This will soon be getting a loan officers desk cubical in this area as well. A security elevator to the second floor where the money is stored (Not functional) The elevator let's off at the second floor Right next to the Branch Manager's desk. Right down the hallway from the reinforced vault

Not 100% but it's the same Blue used on the second floor of the inn in the Mideval Market Village set.

The counter where people can come in and get a cup if they've walked or biked up. The view thru the Drive thru Window. working on a MOD of a city set next. Also working on some outside tables for the coffee shop. ~LCM

Welcome to the town of Stoneford! So instead of creating Topic after Topic about each of the buildings I make, I am going to start a running thread with my town adding buildings as I go. I got really interested in this style of building after building my Grand Emporium. So today I will start with my newest building and later add in some of my other buildings that I've done since then. Welcome to Lightning Hardware Store in town of Stoneford. The hardware store named in Honor of LightningTiger who gave me a few ideas for the interior. The front of the store The Rear of the store. The Interior: Credit to lightningtiger for a few ideas and for the rack. The Roof:

MOC: Modular Style Beverage Store w/News Stand
LegoCityMann replied to LegoCityMann's topic in LEGO Town
OK, I've moved my pictures to Flickr sine Brickself doesn't seem to be working. Also we have added a park to my Modular Town. Here you can see the Water Tower that Dominates the Background. Here you can see a small bridge where the river runs into a Culvert underneath it. This is why it is bricked up. The town remembers it's fallen soldiers with a Civil War era cannon in the park in front of the Memorial Tree. The Water Tower is enclosed with a fence around it. Here you can see the Culvert the water flows into under the bridge. A small pier with a bench provides ample space for those wishing to fish or just relax and look at the flowing water. There is a retaining wall opposite the pier so that the water doesn't get into the building along the river if it floods. Here you see the view from the other side of the retaining wall looking across to the pier. Here you can see how it fits into my town. and the Entire Town thus far Comments, Criticisms, Suggestions, and Ideas welcome. Brick On! ~LCM -
MOC: Modular Style Beverage Store w/News Stand
LegoCityMann replied to LegoCityMann's topic in LEGO Town
I'm MOCing and Rolling, I may have another photo or two to add of another addition to my city tonight. I'm going to need a bigger dresser. Especially with the Fire Brigade coming. -
My newest MOC is a one story Modular Style Beverage Store. (Since Brickshelf seems to be down I've moved the pics to Flickr.) The Front. Here we see the news stand in the front with the entrance to the store. The local beggar out front asking for money. The Roof Here we have a large vent style fan and behind it a condenser unit. (More on that in another post.) The Interior Here we have a standard vestibule with security windows. After dark they can lock the door but still sell thru the access windows. The shelves are stocked with a wide selection of beer, wine, and snacks. and against the far wall many kegs. Aparently a few of our city's fine construction workers have stopped in after work for an adult beverage. Behind the counter the clerk has a desk with a safe underneath. Here you can see the size compared to my Arcade and the Grand Emporium And here you can see the entire scene in my Lego City. Looks like someone gave the beggar some money.

After posting about the disappointment in receiving the "Neo Classic Head" instead of the "Classic Head" as shown in the packaging and marketing materials on LEGO's facebook page I was informed that if I called customer service they would rectify the problem. I made that phone call today and the Customer Service rep is sending me out the "Classic Head" part #9336. Seems like LEGO is very willing to take care of this problem. ~LCM

I have really enjoyed watching this grow. Keep up the brickcellent work! ~LCM

Thank You, Those are actually pieces from a few old Aquanauts sets. After building the Grand Emporium I realized that something seriously is missing from it and the other modulars, With buildings of that size there would be some serious HVAC equipment on the rooftops and there isn't. Maybe my next project will be a line of HVAC equipment for the Modular series. They are so detailed by that is one HUGE detail I feel they are missing. Brick On ~LCM
