Indexes updated! I probably shouldn't say this, since nobody else seems to have noticed, but they had not been updated for the last 3+ months, due to my lazines (and work issuses)! LuxorV

Thank you, and keep customising LuxorV

Sorry, I'm a bit late. Anyway, Happy Birthday CopMike! LuxorV

Nice little customs, Commander_Rob. Could you just re-size the first 2 images to 800 pixels maximum, as requested by our forum guidelines? Thank you LuxorV

Don't be so picky with me, please, I just took the original LEGO Star Wars Visual Dictionary and changed the images. If they made a non-belivable cover for it, it's just their fault I can grant everybody, from the deepest part of my heart as a LEGO and Bionicle fan (even if I collected only few of the sets, I liked the theme in general), that no cruelty was meant with this joke LuxorV

Naruto Manga/Anime Decals project
LuxorV replied to LuxorV's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Just to show you I did not forget this project, here is the new batch of decals: Team 8 (a.k.a. Team Kurenai). Kurenai Yuhi Yellow and Flesh Kiba Inuzuka Yellow and Flesh Hinata Hyuga Yellow and Flesh Shino Aburame Yellow and Flesh Again, I included torso design for both series I and II for Hinata; The others stay the same, or I could not find a good pic from series II. Arms and legs' decals may come after I finish the main characters torsos and faces. Hope you like them, and keep an eye for next Team (hint: thick brows)! LuxorV -
And you find it so unbelivable to think they want to re-use the mold? If this is the best yet-to-be-released mask they had in stock, and favoured by fans, why would they have to make a simple recolour of an old one. That sounds less exciting to me. I think it's in line with the more recent Star Wars Dictionary. Seems like the same publisher got the job. In the end, for the final (half) year of this theme, they probably decided to make something more eye-cathing, also for an older public, than the old comic-styled encyclopedias (btw, I never had one of those, so I'm just referring to the cover aspects ). Moreover, it is probably in this format to give people just the sum of the sets' info, avoiding all the storyline complications. It looks more like a collectors' guide than a characters and events' encyclopedia. LuxorV

Great set, and nice review Svelte. Thanks again for sharing! I'm not sure I'll get this lone, but you sure know how to lure a poor AFOL in wanting it On the this-reminds-me-of-an-Indy-set line, it indeed reminds me of the 7196 Chauchilla Cemetery Battle, with the arrangement of the traps and archway to reach the treasure/goal. Only, it looks much more solid. LuxorV

Down Hill Racing (mountain bike) CGI
LuxorV replied to iminifig's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Indeed this pictures have been around for some years now, but I don't think they have been posted in the MCW ever. They seem good inspiration sources for real customs, though. LuxorV -
Hi Admiral Ron, I see Joey Lock already gave you the link to the Great Pirate Torso Library, where you should find some useful designs. I'll add a link to our Minifig Customisation Index Tutorials and Tools section, where you will find a lot of info and tips to develope your customisiation skills. Good luck with your project! LuxorV

Really nice job, Hound Knight Even though I'm not very familiar with the Tin-Tin series, I can recognise most of the characters, and I think your decals convey the original design effect very well! Thanks for sharing. LuxorV

Down Hill Racing (mountain bike) CGI
LuxorV replied to iminifig's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Very nice find, iminifig. Thanks for sharing! Too bad it's just a GCI, though. Btw, is it just me, or do the MF arms look disturbingly thin, compared to the rest of the body? LuxorV -
Just this pieces in white on a black plate, and half covered into the body of the piano LuxorV

CONTEST: Whack-a-Fig II -ENTRIES ONLY-
LuxorV replied to Siegfried's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Whack through Science LuxorV is making a scientific experiment on the Laws of Gravity with a handy piano and a saw (from BrickForge®). Hinckley, having got the information, decides to make a joke by uplifting it with dynamite the second it hits ground. Unfortunately for him, Siegfried happens to pass in the wrong spot at the wrong time... You can see other (almost identical) pics in this BrickShelf gallery. As said, the saw item is from BrickForge, and Hinckley's torso sports a custom decal. LuxorV -
Don't want to start a new wild-goose theory chase, but what you said is true only when the ice is already floating in the water. When you melt ice caps which are located on lands (like Antartica), the water from ice-melt is added to the total ocenic ballance. So you have an actual sea-level rise. LuxorV

Complete Team Eurobrick's Finest
LuxorV replied to I Scream Clone's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Great MOCs all, guys. And thanks for keeping EB's name high LuxorV -
As a matter of fact, without ice caps, continents like Antartica would have a positive rising feedback (added bouancy for loss of weight on the mantel); we see it today in nothern Europe and America, where the continental shelves rise after the last big glaciations (11.000 y.a.). Of course this is a slower process, since it involves actions, re-actions and feedbacks from the surface to the upper mantel and then up again. Moreover, even if we are used to perceive the world as good when it is like we see it today (or we used to see it 50 or so years ago, if you listen to media), the normal situation in Earth's history is no ice caps on the continents (including no or almost no mountain glaciers) and even no polar ice caps. Don't fool yourself (or let others fool you) we have inherited this world configuration as a consequence of the last glaciation period, which was an anomaly in geological terms. We are now in the middle of an inter-glaciar age, and we are moving towards another glaciation. I don't want to say pollution, crazy environmental changes and resources exploitation are good things. But they are not the only and ultimate cause for the melting of ice caps in the globe. They are just hurrying a natural process. And, if you want to know, scientific extimates tell we'll have no more Alpine glaciers in a bout 40-50 years. If you want to blame humans for a big environmental disaster, then refer to the ancient Saharians, who about 6.000 y.a. changed a fertile and rich region into a desert with deforestation and excesses in sheep/goat farming. At least this is one of the latest theories by the geo-archeologists here at Milan University. Then again, others (manly north Americans) say it is connected with natural climate and insolation rates changes. Humans may interact, even radically, with Earth's environments, but the ecology (and all which is connected with it) is too vast to allow us to simply point the finger and say: look, this is what caused it all! There's a lot to know before we can just talk about ecology and climate pretending to know what we are speaking of, and unfortunately most reporters only seek easy sensationalism. LuxorV

All the soldier decals we have are listed in the Other Decals Index, under Military. Hope you'll find some of them useful. LuxorV

Just one word: Bradyseism. And to quote Armageddon: 'It has happened before, it will happen again. It's just a question of when.' (or something like that) Then, a thin water layer from polar ice melt to start Yahoo reportes' fantasy LuxorV

Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow
LuxorV replied to LuxorV's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Thanks The Penguin! I'm not sure how many more of these I'll do (I have a quite clear idea for Tutenkopf, but not much for other characters). On the other hand, I'm working on other souces/stories (from books, mainly) and will post something soon LuxorV -
Thanks all for the positive feedback! This just made my day LuxorV
