Thanks for the explanation, Stauder. Has it something to do with Arthur learning to fly? I can't remember that part in Italian, I'll have to re-read it in English to refresh my memory Nice to see you back, btw So, EDIT: Hangs in the air much like bricks don't. - another HHGTTG reference. LuxorV

Well, let me see, so far mine have been: Heart of Gold - after the spaceship from the HitchHikers' Guide to the Galaxy, for partecipating the HHGTTG contest and making a total of 7 vignettes about the D. Adams' trilogy of five. Hangs in the air much like bricks don't. - actual one. LuxorV

Hi aayla-secura, I moved this to the General Discussion Forum, since its sub-title says: Discuss LEGO news, building techniques, and all other general topics Apart from that, I think Ewok already showed the best/most beautiful option to build the branches LuxorV

Thank you so much for taking care of this effort, Stash2Sixx Mine is totally correct. Can't wait to see the BrickWorld pics LuxorV

While I'm not going to cast a vote (it would be unfair on those beautiful entries which all deserve to win; what else can you espect from two kings of the Classic town like Hinckley and TheBrickster?! ), I'll say I the re-newed Classic Town feeling this contest has generated in me and a lot of other people who partecipated, both with entries and comments. A huge, immense thank you to WhiteFang for thinking, organizing and ruling this great contest. You're awsome, my friend LuxorV

star wars decals: Staring a 212th heavy

Great job, clone killer I tried Inkscape a while ago, but I had a problem with the palettes: couldn't get it to use the right colours I wanted; everytime I changed the settings to match the LEGO colours from IS's chart, the program would reverse them back to something similar but not really it (like say a CMYK 23 89 43 21 changed to a 22 89 36 25 [here I just put in some numbers, I don't think they correspond to any actual LEGO colour]). The differnece is not that big, but with some colours it shows . Did you face the same problem, and if yes, how did you manage it? LuxorV -
Nice custom, and good job on the head. Btw, that decal is by me LuxorV

The Watchmen (The Crew and Villains)
LuxorV replied to Capt. Kirk's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
That's ok, don't worry And thanks for keeping up the great wotk LuxorV -
This is a great grand finale, Batbrick I love the details you put in ... everything, from the machines to the characters, to the creatures, up to the four more sheets of red cardboard The 'special effects', too are very neat, with those rocket flames and 'bullet-time' overall effect. As for the vote, I chose n° 4 option as well. It seems so much in line with the style I tried to follow up to now in I.A. Thanks for carrying on this huge project for so long, and for making it so very part of the core of our EB LuxorV

No, the moderator isn't just silly in making a double post; please read carefully this post and understand it. I have recently noticed that the number of simingly 'random' requests in this thread has greatly increased in the last period. With this I mean that I see an allarmingly vast number of requests for decals that, once our decal makers have completed them, are never ever heard of. Of course, people who require a design here do not have to use it in a great MOC or display model. But it would be nice if you could show us a pic of the applied decals (the real final product, so to say). Let me explain in a few points why I think this is so important: - first of all, it is a nice way of showing your appreciation for the high quality works you get done here by our decal makers. Always remember that to make a high quality decal, the designer spends time and effort; let him/her feel your appreciation. - secondly, not all decals come out of the printer as one would espect. Even the most skilled designer needs to check the quality of his/her work from time to time. Since most of our decal makers produce tenths of decals per month (some even tenths per week), they cannot be espected to do that 'quality control' all on their own. On the other hand, if every member could post a few pics of the applied decals he/she required, that would mean a very little effort for the single, while at the same time granting a wide range of checks. - lastly, seeing the applied decals, every designer (not only the original maker) can learn something about how to improve his/her own work. Please remember this, and try to post as much pics of the finished product as possible. This would be a nice recognition to our decal makers, and it would help to improve the forum. Another issue I want to discuss is that of the requests format. I do not want to limit your fantasy in organizing the text (as long as you keep polite and reasonably mature, that is), but I espect one thing to always be present in all of your future requests: you must post a link to a reference picture of what you require. The web is full of browsers which grant the possibility of searching for images (Google Images is just one of the most famous). Our decal makers already spend a lot of time designing the decals; they do not need to spend additional time to search for a pic that matches the vague description you posted in your request. To finish this, I want you to rember that, regardless of what you do (post a request or comment on the finished ones), saying Thank you to the people who make the hard part of the work here is a polite and friendly move. Thanks for your collaboration and understanding LuxorV

The Watchmen (The Crew and Villains)
LuxorV replied to Capt. Kirk's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
The Update # idea is good, indeed, but it does need your re-posting to get the topic in full view. If you just state that the topic is regularly updated, it's up to the viewer to exercise his/her memory to remember to check for updates And then, there's a useful command for every member to select the topics they're interested in and link them to their control page for easy access . LuxorV -
That's easy, since it's part of my old remake of the V-19 stickers sheet. Just save object on your PC, add image in a word .doc, crop out the part you need and print it (if you follow my instructions, it doesn't need resizing ). LuxorV

Thanks, ED-209! Very nicely done And thanks to all the people working to complete the requests. You are awsome LuxorV

The Watchmen (The Crew and Villains)
LuxorV replied to Capt. Kirk's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
You're doing a great work on these decals Just, please don't post anew anytime you make an update. It can get a but weird to see a whole topic written by just one person If you just state something like 'First post updated regularly', 'Come back for updates' and so on, people will know you are still adding decals and will remember to check. (I'll arrange this one for you, now) LuxorV -
Thanks for your honesty Any chance we'll see some big Halo creation from you soon, then? LuxorV
