  1. I'm almost certain that it's the box dimensions, 10.3cm is far too narrow for a 1:5 scale motorbike. And a lot of other sets with similar pricetag/piececount are also packaged in boxes approx 58cm wide x 38cm tall. We should find out in a day or two anyway. Really hoping this set is a good one. More of a Suzuki guy myself (ride a 2nd gen Hayabusa) but if this BMW turns out to be good I'd be happy to see any of the Japanese brands represented in the next "UCS" Technic superbike set. Japanese vehicle manufacturers have been seriously under-represented in Lego sets compared to European and American brands having only the Speed Champions GT-R and Supra so far.
  2. The length/width/height measurements don't look proportional to a real bike, so I'm guessing those are the box dimensions?
  3. I will be making some custom deck officers for mine, using sw0913 minifigs with 57900 helmets and 970c00pb0411 dual-molded legs.
  4. Not similar at all, apart from the use of axles with stops on the end. To take the shuttle wings off you would have to remove the parts on the outer edges of the wings then pull the bent liftarms off to get the axles out. Would be a bit time consuming, but can be done easily without damaging parts.
  5. They did change the roof tiles on the 89 Batmobile, and offered replacement parts for people who bought an early version. That was purely for cosmetic reasons, and on a set with less than a third of the pricetag. So there's still a possibility they update this.
  6. I really don't get it either. Just a few months ago people were upset about a harmless box art error, now that there's this poorly designed sub-assembly which would be almost impossible to take apart without damaging anything most people are acting like it's perfectly acceptable.
  7. On backorder for Aus/NZ now, shipping 8th December. Order limit has been 2 since it went live yesterday, and lightsabers are still available.
  8. This is the most surprising part. There must have been dozens of review copies sent out, and no-one said anything about it. At least I've now been warned before mine arrives. Only reason I can think of is when you lift the model, the axles might be to stop the weight of the legs from pulling down on the 4 black pins connecting the rectangle to the turntable? But the 1x2 liftarms attached on the outside would prevent them from falling off completely, and there's other ways they could have braced it internally which wouldn't prevent disassembly.
  9. If you do that, the orange pin could be pushed inside the rectangle when you attach the 1x2 liftarms at steps 171 & 220, which can't happen with a regular black pin on the outside.
  10. Looks like the axles don't do anything (aside from preventing disassembly that is) so I'll just swap them out for a standard black pin on the outside of the rectangle.
  11. Ultimatecollectorstickers has one. https://www.ultimatecollectorstickers.co.uk/product-page/lego-star-wars-ucs-sticker-for-jedi-cruiser-75025
  12. I think there's a pretty good chance of that happening. Most of the faces in the UCS AT-AT are reused from either last years playscale version or the Armoured Marauder from a few months ago. Only 2 of the face prints appear to be completely new, the female driver and the black female snowtrooper. So while I can understand Brikkyy13's concern about useful face prints for MOCs being locked behind a UCS pricetag, they are unlikely to be exclusive to this set for more than a couple of months.
  13. Just ordered all the parts for this, along with a display stand similar to shiny_car's version. Been wanting a UCS version of this ship for years, so can't wait to build it.
  14. Don't think Lego would go with an electric car for the next Technic supercar as it would lack the engine and gearbox mechanisms that they normally put in them. But if they do, the Rimac Nevera might be possible? As Rimac is now partially owned by Porsche, and Lego seems to be obsessed with the Volkswagen group.
  15. Not sure if they will include damping but I'd expect to see new fork pieces due to the larger scale, and maybe a new shock. Should have a proper wide rear wheel too, rather than just a wider tyre on the same wheel piece like previous technic bikes. I'm wondering about the gearbox, the Land Rover Defender was a similarly priced set which had a 4spd with high/low. This might have a 6spd with a realistic neutral between 1st & 2nd?
  16. Nice! I like how you used the smoke and DBG curved slopes for the windscreen and pillars.
  17. @efferman Thanks for confirming. @ElectroDiva 34cm as mentioned on the last page.
  18. My card was charged as soon as it went from "backordered" to "in warehouse" about 2 days ago. Wish they would hurry up and send it...
  19. Looks good on the stand, but is it possible to have it on the stand facing the other way? Right up, left down instead of right down left up. Or does the cockpit stick out of the side too much?
