  1. Wasn't that based on a cancelled Kenner toy from the 1980s? So it's never been canon, but it does have some obscure Star Wars history behind it, instead of just being thrown together from random parts like the Inferno Squad speeder you mentioned.
  2. I think the terminal section itself is fine, I just don't like the underside of the plates surrounding it. I think it would look a lot better if they were covered with inverted tiles to smooth it off. Unless they surprise us and give us a near-perfect model full of interesting building techniques, that might be the main selling point for the set. Unlike other UCS sets in recent years, I've barely seen any hype for this one.
  3. https://www.brickfanatics.com/how-lego-decided-which-minifigures-to-include-in-75309-republic-gunship/ “We put in minifigures that are appropriate, but I personally feel they shouldn’t be super-rare collector’s items. It’s just not okay to put a super-rare minifigure into a super high price point, because not everybody can afford it, and those minifigures will be super-sought-after." When the gunship released last year it was the only AOTC set available at the time, so of course it was going to take a while for those minifigs to reappear in other suitable sets. Clone commander in the battlepack, with Mace on the way in the fighter tank. Here we have 2 sets based on the same movie, featuring the same droid, releasing at the same time, but only 1 has the dual molded leg and leg side printing.
  4. UCS C-3PO looks amazing but wish that fig was also in the trash compactor. I guess "no UCS exclusive minifigs" only applies to prequel sets.
  5. Are there any rumoured sets expected to include stormtroopers, or is it just Luke & Han in the trash compactor so far?
  6. Something else I just noticed, the Watcher comes with swappable round 1x1 transparent pieces for the eye, matching the 3 colours in game. Blue for out of combat, yellow for alert and red from in combat. It's only a couple of extra pieces but it's a nice little detail they included.
  7. Looks really nice. We might see an official announcement from Lego soon? As Forbidden West releases this friday.
  8. It's a strange choice regardless of who made the desicion. I understand why they didn't make it a proper 2022 car, but putting the 2021 livery on 2022 bodywork is just wierd. They could have made a full 2021 car instead and avoided all the complaints about inaccuracy.
  9. Palace looks good, just hope they make another set with that badass rancor.
  10. Getting those stickers aligned so they don't look like they wobble when rotating will be a nightmare, and there's 4 of them.
  11. Looks nice aside from the dishes uses instead of sidewall printing, so I'll likely pick it up eventually just because it's a McLaren but probably wait for a sale. NZ price is almost the same as the BMW which has almost 500 more pieces, several new molds and a gearbox.
  12. It's hard to see on the front, but there is a visible pushrod at the back. Ball & socket joint roughly halfway between the rear tyre and the McLaren kiwi logo on the rear bodywork in the photo. Looking forward to seeing better pics of it soon, and Lego confirming the NZ price.
  13. Lego's official Facebook page have posted some "lifestyle" photos of the new helmets partially built, 1 of them being the Darktrooper. https://www.facebook.com/1104984436239557/posts/6900284200042856/
  14. They were in the authorized stores last week, but limited to 1 per customer so I didn't bother. Gave up and ordered a few of the rebel packs from Bricklink. Not proud of myself for paying a markup, but I need rebels for the hoth battle scene I am building around my UCS AT-AT. At least that seller did have some other minifigs I wanted at pretty good prices.
  15. Got the deck officer parts last week.
  16. Awesome, thanks for sharing this. Most of the racers riding these bikes in real life will be using reverse direction shifting so I think the fix that you ended up doing was more realistic anyway. Best of luck with your recovery.
  17. The Auckland NZ Lego store has had them since Saturday so I got mine from there. Wasn't going to bother with lego.com as the AT-ST and M1000RR I ordered on Jan 1st are still in warehouse and haven't shipped.
  18. It's a Lego exclusive for now, so don't expect to see any discounts until the general retail release in March. I did read that some BMW motorcycle dealerships will be getting it, so you may want to keep an eye on your local motorbike shops for any sales, as well as your usual Lego retailers.
  19. I noticed some January sets in other themes are also still listed as "coming soon" so I'm guessing they had a shipping delay for Aus/NZ.
  20. I really struggled with those bottom panels as well so removed the 2x16 plates like you did. My display stand works well, feels more sturdy than the official 10212 stand design despite being almost twice the height.
  21. A 2x2 turntable might work? Though I'm not sure if they will stay upright, it might be top heavy. The battlepack releasing next month has the same speederbikes so you could wait for that instead.
  22. Finished building mine, followed the instructions but left out the green connectors. As I thought, the orange pins got pushed inside when attaching the black 1x2 liftarms but I was able to hold them in place by using the brick seperator to hold the axle at the other end.
  23. Only 3 gears and the rear wheel being the same mold as the front just with a wider tyre on it are a bit disappointing but otherwise it looks good. NZ price compared to USA is a pleasant surprise too, $330NZ/$230US. Usually we have to pay $350NZ for $200US sets.
  24. That one looks much worse than it actually is. Shove a lightsaber blade inside the gray pin and you should be able to pull the pin out easily.Admittedly I haven't got my AT-AT yet but I have tried it on the same gray pin in Vader's meditation chamber.
