LEGO Star Wars 2022 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
1340cc replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
There might be some exclusive side leg printing or dual molded limbs but I don't think arm printing will be UCS exclusive. Arm printing seems to be the norm for important characters now, based on what we've seen with beskar Din Djarin, repainted Boba, Fennec Shand and Darth Vader. So far the only time they have removed arm printing was on Darth Vader in the 2021 imperial shuttle, which later returned in the meditation chamber and Kenobi duel which are both cheaper sets than the shuttle. -

We can only guess at this point but I think Falconfan might be right. The Cantina is a popular fan favourite so they could have decided to keep it around for another year before releasing the next MBS set. -

I meant similar size in terms of overall length and width. Promobricks says that this official version will be around 60cm long and 40cm wide, while yours is 58.9 long 41 wide according to Brickvault's page. I'm aware that the proportions will be different. -

Thought it sounded too good to be true when I first saw the rumours about a UCS Razor Crest, but I'm happy to be proven wrong. Will be very interesting to see what it looks like as it's supposed to be around the same size as the MOCs from Jerac, RichboyJhae and Papaglop but with about 20-25% more parts. Maybe it has some small side builds? Minifig selection will be interesting as well. Given that it's minifig scale it will likely have at least 6 minifigs total, obviously 2 of them will be Din and Grogu but we can only guess what the others will be. Given that Lego have changed their mind about the "no more UCS exclusives" thing there's room for some characters we haven't got yet. Kuill, the mythrol, Cobb Vanth and Mayfeld would all be nice to see though it's unlikely we would get all of them. -

Looks nice in the stock photos, but the black box really doesn't do it any favours. Love the Model Team hot rod magazine on the back seat. -

Yeah the finale was more exciting to watch but the first duel in the quarry was a much better choice for a Lego set. -

A nice improvement over the official design. Were many extra parts needed? -

Build looks basic but so is the location in the show, just flat ground with some mining equipment and piles of rocks scattered around. Can't blame Lego for making a set that looks accurate to the source material, and they probably felt like they had to make it as the Kenobi/Vader rematch was being hyped up so much before the shows release. Sure they could have made it smaller and cheaper like other recent duel sets but then we probably would only get 2 minifigs so would miss out on NED-B and Tara. -

My guess it's a predecessor of the Sentinel-class landing craft, much like the Delta-class was a predecessor of the Lambda-class shuttle. Looks like a pretty good set, and I'm glad I didn't bother getting the Rebels Inquisitor minifigs as both of them are in this set with updated designs. -

I'd have preferred orange as well, but black does make sense as they haven't done a black creator expert car either. Hopefully it's easy enough to modify to fit the supercharger and side exit exhaust from the Mustang set as there doesn't appear to be any optional performance mods included. No idea on the 911, but I haven't seen it listed to be discontinued soon so hopefully you still have time. I'd expect the Mustang to get discontinued first as it's an older set and a very similar style of car to the upcoming Camaro. -

Disappointing that Lego still aren't making a Japanese creator expert car. Should be a nice set in it's own right though, if it's as good as the 10265 Mustang. Useful colour for MOC builders as well. 1960s/70s McLaren race cars come to mind. -

I'd say just go for it and get it when you have the chance. It's one of the best Star Wars sets they have made in the past several years so I wouldn't stress too much about paying full retail instead of waiting for a big sale and hoping that it's in stock at the time. -
The wing attachment on the 75095 TIE comes to mind, those things are held on very securely. A similar design should work for the Defender as well, even with the downward angle of the lower wings.

Exactly. The minifigs in sets like 10179 and 10212 were nothing special but people still love those sets because of the actual model. -

This flip-flopping from Lego is disappointing, but at least we now know why they didn't put the upgraded C-3PO legs in the trash compactor. I hope Lego puts phase 2 Cody in the next big $350USD+ UCS/MBS set. Give those whiners what they say they want and they will change their tune very quickly. -

Same in NZ, and the Auckland store doesn't have the dioramas either. Only new set they will have for May 4th is the landspeeder which barely anyone cares about. -

Looks like a reasonably good model aside from those 2 stickers on the big quarter circle slopes at the front which will no doubt be a pain in the big behind to apply. But it's still just a UCS landspeeder, and I really can't justify paying that much when I only want the new C-3PO legs. No polybag for NZ/Aus so we only get the Aunt Beru kitchen and the beskar keyring. Checked the US site out of curiosity and they also have the AT-ST and no blue milk luke. Could be a store exclusive, or that rumour was false. -

I'd much prefer a UCS bomber over a Nebulon B or that silly UCS landspeeder which everyone liked to joke about until it actually happened for real. But I'll admit I'm somewhat biased as I already have several UCS fighters/bombers. -

Apart from the 2 big smooth slopes used for the sides of the cockpit, the overall design looks much closer to the classic Pandemic/Lucasarts design than the newer Dice/EA one. The front of the cockpit, the green striping on the slope above the cockpit, 2 antenna, panel detail on the guns and the intakes/missile launchers on the sides all match the older design. -

Just like the trash compactor, the first picture made a good set look bad. Surprised that they didn't reuse the Mace from the UCS gunship but this new version does look great with the arm printing. -
It can be done, but only if you turn his saber hand upside down. Then you can spin the elevator while he is holding the saber vertically.
