[MOC] Operation Quarantine, cornered. Pic heavey
meschepers replied to Bounty Hunter's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I am pretty sure that he meant to say "trained" for anything. That makes a whole lot more sense. This is a pretty awesome MOC. I love the shadowy effect you have in some of the shots and the immense amount of greebling makes it seem even more tense as well as adds some realism to the scene. I simply love the terrified clone and I think it works a lot better without a helmet so you can see the fear he has. -
I can see what you are getting at. I took at look at your other MOC first and now that I have seen this one I see what you did. Pretty cool idea (I'm not going to spoil it for those who haven't seen what it is).

That's a neat little MOC and a pretty good story to go with it. But, as far as being trapped in the building I think he should be smart enough to take the axe and break through the board, haha.

First off, this is a great idea for a new thread. I am interested to see what other people think and why. Personally, I like the idea of building impulsively. I for one will decide what it is I want to build and not take any pictures until I am finished. I feel that stopping to take pictures would break my concentration as I am not one who plans ahead extensively. Currently I have a medium sized ship that I am finishing that I hope to get a few parts for in the next few days, as well as getting some sails made and installed. Once I get those on then I hope to take some pictures and get them uploaded here. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy seeing the WIP stuff that people put on here, it gives a real insight to what techniques they use when they build. For my own uses though I have to say that I like to take my pictures when the model is finished.

Has anyone at all thought that maybe the garage with the automatic door is the set he had but the brick-built car was from another set or something that was created by an individual? That's my theory on the matter since there was never a set released with the automatic garage door and a brick built car. It almost had to be from items from two different sets.

That is quite impressive. I love the amount of detail you put into this model. It is really making me ready for my next cruise in Sept. Everything is exactly as you would expect on a cruise ship from the shops to the theater. I do have one question though: Is there a casino on board for the passengers who like to gamble? I saw about everything else and I was just wondering.

have a laugh at Mega Blocks misfortunes...
meschepers replied to mikey's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I have to agree here. MegaBloks being around allows LEGO to keep their costs relatively low and keep quality relatively high. If hey were to fold and LEGO had no major competition prices would rise and quality would likely fall. The article insiuates that this is exactly what happened to LEGO in the past decade: making poor choices and attempting to expand too much nearly caused them to go bankrupt. The one thing that saved them was a return to their roots. With the release of new Castle, Pirates, Space Police and City we are seeing LEGO's "Big Four" theme back all at the same time, just like when I was a kid in the 80s and early 90s (which a very good thing as LEGO is one of the few individual toy brands that is making a profit on a year to year basis). All we have to do is keep buying LEGO products and we won't have to worry about what happens to Mega. -
The 30 Greatest Lego Minifigs of All Time
meschepers replied to KDog's topic in General LEGO Discussion
That was a pretty entertaining article and I must say that those are all some good figs. I'm not sure what I would have put at #1, probably Darth Vader since he symbolizes one of the best selling lines for the past ten years. I'd like to see what others have to say is their personal favorite all time minifig. But, I think there is a little but of mis-information on the mermaid. I wouldn't say she has the least clothing. There was a female in the Islander sub-theme of pirates that wore a flowered lei around her neck that barely covered her chest and had a leaf over the lower part. I think that would be a little less than a clam shell bra. -
Review 7078 King’s Battle Chariot
meschepers replied to Cardinal Brick's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
The ONLY reason I would buy this set is to get the new King's torso. However, I do not need it that bad since I would just cover it armor and it wouldn't be seen. Besides, I am sure they will release a magnet set that comes with the King, they almost always do. This set is something I might buy in a clearance sale if it was $10 or lower. -
REVIEW Castle 7097 - Trolls' Mountain Fortress
meschepers replied to Svelte's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I am actually really disappointed by the color of the Troll King's crown. I was really expecting it to be a metallic color like the helms of the dwarfs. It even shows it as metallic on the box. Oh well, this was a set I wasn't to excited about, to be honest. The review was very in depth and hit on a lot of points. Very well done! -
As the title suggests I am looking to get my hands on some great helms from Brickforge (these are the ones I am looking for). I don't need many, just 4 of the silver ones (not chrome) and they are currently out of stock. I have a pretty good selection of figures and parts from many themes (from the past 20 years about) that I can trade, just let me know what you want and I will see if I have any of them. I have had several successful trades on this forum and would like to increase my number. I prefer US trades and would like to trade for all 4 Great Helms at once. Please PM me if you can help. THANKS!

New sets available on LEGO.com!
meschepers replied to Luke McAwesome's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
This is GREAT! I am placing an order for 7079 Drawbridge Defense right now. It looks like an incredible set and has some parts that will go very well for a small medieval display that I am working on in my new house. The figures look really great as well. -
This is a fantastic set and a great review to go along with it. I will be keeping my eyes open for this set to be released. For it looks like the only one I will be buying out of the Castle lineup for the second half of the year. That golden knight is such a great minifig.

I just took a look at mine and I see them there. there should also be dark lines for his cheeks and at the corner of his eyes. These are simply "age lines" to show that he is an older person. If I am looking at the wrong thing then please post pics so I can see for sure what you are talking about.

This looks AWESOME! I must say that I am going to get that drawbridge set when I can find it (maybe when the LEGO store opens in Oklahoma City this summer). I am also hoping to get my hands on one of those copper colored crowns when people start to get them, I am not big on the trolls and dwarves but I really like that crown!

I'm very excited at having a LEGO store opening in Oklahoma. I currently live about an hour away from where it will be but in about a year I'll be about 2 hours away. I have never been to a LEGO store as there are none within 10 hours of where I live so I couldn't justify the trip. But, now I'll have one just an hour away and I will be there for the grand opening celebrations. Oh, and regarding the exclusive models: They are offered on Saturday of the Grand Opening. It says that the first 300 people to spend $35 or more will get one of the models. On Sunday they have the same deal but for a t-shirt (in kids sizes) instead of an exclusive model. I am going to be one of those 300 on Saturday to get an exclusive model.

THE OLD Official Eurobricks Straightshooters List
meschepers replied to The Middleman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I would like to add +1 to KinGanon for a very smooth taransaction. His items arrived today in wonderful condition and would gladly trade with him again! -
PM'd!

Thanks for that. I may make a trip to Penn Square Mall soon to find out when it will be opening and where I might apply for a job. I think that would make a great job for me!
-
There is one opening about an hour from where I currently live in Oklahoma and I am thinking about applying for a job there. But I can't find any information on when it is opening or when they will be hiring since I am an hour away. I plan on being there on the grand opening, though.

Laurel and Hardy Decals
meschepers replied to Hound Knight's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
But... but... shouldn't they be black and white? Just kidding. These are some great decals! -
Age of Empires II Woad Raider
meschepers replied to Hound Knight's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
This looks good except for one small detail: He has no woad on his face. Woad is the blue stuff that the Scots had on their face in Braveheart, it can also be seen on the AoE2 game. If you could make a decal for the face the same way you made one for the body this would look about perfect. -
The effects of longterm lego building to your hands.
meschepers replied to k_peek_2000's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I don't often build very for long times but when I do (like while I was working on my British Snow-Brig) I do get calluses on my finger tips, from either digging through my unsorted collection or from all the building. I think it is pretty normal unless you build a lot and already have them.
