  1. This is phenomenal. I would love to know how to make those small swivel guns at the front. Could you post the pieces which you used to build them?
  2. Looks like they finally got restocked at BrickForge. Thought I'd post that news in this thread in case anyone else was interested.
  3. Yeah. I'm in again! Do you still have my SigFig from last year? It was the one that had the black great helm from brickforge.
  4. I made the hour trip south to my local LEGO store yesterday to pick up on the day it debuted (I got the last one they had, thankfully) and was able to build half of it yesterday... I gotta say, this set is impressive so far. Anyone who likes the pirate line should definitely try to get this set.
  5. I have been hoping to buy four of the silver (not chrome) great helms from BrickForge for well over a year. For that whole time they have been out of stock. I sent them an e-mail about it asking if they knew when they might get them in and they said they were expecting a very large shipment very soon. That was about 9 months ago and they never arrived. So, here is my question: does anyone here have four of them that they would be willing to trade? To clarify, this is the item I am looking for: http://www.brickforge.com/store/product.ph...=253&page=1 If possible I would like to trade for four of them but I am also willing to buy if anyone has at least four that they can trade (I have conducted great trades with several members of this forum and other forums and they have been recorded). I prefer to trade with US members but am open to trade with anyone in the world if they have them. Please reply to this thread or PM if you have some of them. Thank you!
  6. I have seen a handful of Z-95 MOCs through the years and I must say, this one is BY FAR the best I have ever seen. It is almost perfect from what I can see. Great job on the cockpit and tricky reactor bubble. I hope to see a lot more MOCs from you in the future!
  7. For all the people who are saying that it is too expensive of a set, that there should be more figs and more pieces, I went and did a little calculating: Total number of pieces on the 2009 pirate line (excluding the Imperial Flagship, accessories, games and battle packs)- 1567 pieces. Total number of pieces on the Imperial Flagship alone- 1664. This single set has 93 more pieces than entire 2009 pirate line combined. Brickbeard's Bounty has only 592 pieces for $99.99 (USD). You get three times the number of pieces for only $80 (USD) more. The total cost of the 2009 pirates line (once again, just sets- no accessories, games, or battle packs) is $232.99 (USD). The cost for the Imperial Flagship is $180 (USD). That is a difference of $53 (USD) for more parts than the ENTIRE pirates line of this year. To get this many parts you would have to spend more that $300 (USD) to get three Brickbeard's Bounties. Sure, you could have more ships, but you wouldn't necessarily get more quality parts for MOCing. With these few bits of info put out there for everyone to look at I think it is more than a fair deal. You don't get all the figs you would have hoped for, but what are the odds that you already have a bunch of figures from this line that could be used to fill out the crew some? It's a great model with a lot of pieces and it is even at a great price. I think $180 (USD) is a very nice price for a set of this quality.
  8. I just got back from vacation in Cozumel, Mexico where I spent a large chunk of my LEGO budget on a great necklace for my girlfriend. I was shocked to see this great set when I got home and I must say it is a must have. Too bad I spent most of my money on that necklace... or is it? She told me last night that she would pay for half of it for my birthday/Christmas since the necklace I got her was her birthday/Christmas gift. So, long story short, I cannot wait until this set comes out. I may be making a trip to my local LEGO store on Jan. 1st to pick it up.
  9. IF the natives are shown as the bad guys then maybe you should take it up with the author of the book, James Fenimore Cooper. This book was written well over 100 years ago, and in that story Chingachgook (who was a native) was the good guy, as was his adopted son, Nathaniel Bumpo. The Huron were fighting alongside the French while Nathaniel was a British Colonist at the time. This story, as best I recall (as well as Cooper's "Last of the Mohicans") takes place in and around the time of the French and Indian War. There is NOTHING offensive about the tribute MOC. He even mentions in the post that it was based off of "The Deerslayer" novel by Cooper. I guess if you would have read that part I wouldn't have to type all of this. That said, I really do like this MOC and am a fan of Cooper's tales about Natty Bumpo. They are all great stories and should be read by anyone with an interest in the history of Pacific and Great Lakes Native American tribes.
  10. I can give a couple very good reasons why the Pirate Advent Calendar should be made available in the U.S. First, think of pirates in a historical context- where were they more known to prowl the seas? Off the coast of what is now the United States and the Caribbean islands. I know that the prey they took were mostly European ships with cargo bound to or from the New World, but pirates are an important part of U.S. history, the same they are an important part of European history as well as World History. Did you know that in the American Revolution and in the American Civil War pirates and privateers were given commissions by the United States Navy and actually became a part of the Navy? They were paid just like Navy soldiers but had the extra stipulation that they could keep whatever they captured. That said, I think it is folly for any global retail company to not offer particular products in particular areas of the world for any reason. I personally believe that the Pirates Advent Calendar should be sold in the United States, Canada, Mexico and in all markets where LEGO Pirates are available. Sincerely, Jake Schepers aka "MeSchepers" on EuroBricks.com
  11. I did click on the link. I read everything on that page. Nothing there seemed to need to be explained so I was confused by what this topic was about. I understand the question now, thanks to JCC1004. I was not aware that it hadn't been released on PC yet, I thought it was released on PC at the same time it was released for consoles. Let me say this, though: The game is great and I would highly recommend it for anyone, especially for only $20. You are getting tons of characters, levels, bonuses and secrets. I apologize for my first reply, I simply didn't get what the question was asking.
  12. What do you mean "is it true?" The game has been out for a few years now as well as the older versions (One which was the Prequels and one which was the Original Trilogy). For this one they combined the two games and all of the characters, added some new characters and added new levels to replace some of the other levels in the game (the old levels are still playable within the game as extras so you get the entirety of both games with new stuff for a lower price). So, if you are asking if it is true, then yes. This game is real and is actually not all that new. I bought it for my XBox 360 a few months back for $20 on a rack that had a bunch of best seller games that were marked down.
  13. I don't see a problem with it. I can read it just fine on my HP 19" Notebook. If it isn't your computers and it isn't my computer or my eyes, that leaves one option really. Maybe it is just me, but I can see it just fine. Anyone else having the same problem as madoka?
  14. Honestly, to me, this seems like a very bad idea for TLG to be involved in. Will there be merchandise associated with the film? Will TLG produce sets that have actions figures that do not look like Minifigs because that's the way it is in the movie? Will other companies produce poorly made LEGO knockoff products with the LEGO name attached as accessories to their action figures? I think it is a bad idea all around. I am surprised that TLG would ever be on board with something like this. Adding a concrete, unchangeable plot to something that is supposed to be centered around imagination and creation is TERRIBLE idea. The LEGO video games are one thing because you can personally interact, create and modify almost anything within the game, but a film that has NO interaction whatsoever? I thought LEGO was pro-interaction and pro-imagination. Making this movie will could be a huge step backwards for them.
  15. Looks pretty good. Does it cost anything to play?
  16. I took Taekwon Do for six years when I was a kid. I still remember most of it. The instructor I had was very knowledgeable and has the highest rank you can obtain in TKD. He holds black belts in other forms as well so we learned some Jiu JItsu, Judo, and Hapkido as well so he was training his students in every manner of self defense. I mainly quit because I came to college but I still try to work out when I can.
  17. That is really very clever. I had never thought of that technique, but it is very clever for depicting blood in ice/snow. As simple as this is, it is actually one of my favorite techniques I have ever seen. Great work on this!
  18. Can anyone post pics of the SDCC "sets"? The page that was linked to doesn't seem to be loading for me, or at least is taking a very long time.
  19. FBTB says that it will retail for $149.99 starting in September. I am not sure what that makes it in Canadian dollars, but I don't think that is too bad of a pirce for 1408 pieces and 5 figs in a licensed set. I guess I'll be making a trip to my local LEGO store (so excited to be able to say that now) once I hear that it is going on sale.
  20. Well, these new images really seal the deal for me. I was planning on getting this anyway but seeing that everything that I would have hoped to come with this is there then I will be getting this set. These pics are great and I can't wait until this is released!
  21. This entry sounds great, but for some reason none of the links are working for me. Is there any chance that you could deeplink the images? EDIT: I think it is actually something going on with brickshelf at the moment. I will check back tomorrow to see if it is working.
  22. The reason Anakin wasn't given the rank of "master" on the council is very simply a matter of the law of the Jedi Order: To be counted as a master you have to train a Padawan into a Jedi Knight. Since it can be assumed that Ashoka did not complete that training then Anakin would have achieved the rank of Jedi Master. That is the reason he was not given the rank of Master upon joining the council. Ashoka would call him master not because that is his title, but as a sign of respect. Many people refer to their equals or instructors as "sir" or "ma'am" and this is the same thing with Ashoka and Anakin, and even Anakin and Obi-Wan in the films. It had nothing to do with stripping him of a rank, he just hadn't trained a Padawan to be a full fledged Jedi Knight.
  23. Not sure where you are getting the fourth engine from, but I only see four on the top. That means four on the bottom. Looks like there is enough space between the two rows of the engines would allow for the other 3. the problems of the engines looking small and the overall odd proportions people are seeing are due to the perspective of the photograph. I will be getting this set if it is in a reasonable price range for something of this size.
  24. I guess I am the only person alive that likes this. You know what? That means there will be more for me. I plan on picking one up as soon as I can, I think it looks great, no matter what figs do and don't come with it. And if it's the same price or even close to price of Republic Cruiser than I will be able to get this one.
  25. Is anyone (other than myself) going to the grand opening in Oklahoma City on the 25th of July? I would like to meet fellow AFOLs in the area if anyone else is going. Please let me know in either a reply in this thread or by PM.
