  1. I bought the Fenris Wolf (1), The Boat v. Wyvern Dragon (2), and the Ship v. Midgard Serpent (6). That brings my total to 9. Though I am looking to get that Dwarves Mining set and use the armor and weapons from that to supplement my Vikings. Those dwarf beards will look great on Vikings, plus, I can make Thor, Odin, and Loki... I'm a mythology nerd.
  2. Thanks, Nate. That's exactly what I was looking for.
  3. I have been admiring the new Dwarves mining set since I saw the officially released set. I haven't had a chance to purchase the lovely new thing yet, but I did notice a great looking hammer that is included. I was just curious if anyone could let me know what pieces are included in that hammer so I could fashion one of my own. I know most of the pieces easily, but there is one thing that puzzles me... how are the head connected to the shaft (i.e. what piece is used)? I would really appreciate any help. Thanks.
  4. I love Eddie Izzard. This was a great way to visualize the skits/bits he performs. I hope they do more of this.
  5. I'm looking for a stationary drum, and I already have something worked out for that. I also have an idea for a tuba, clarinet, drum, and keyboard. I already have a bugle from the western sets. That's all I'm going to have for my small Oktoberfest. I've got chicken/turkey legs for food, barrels for beer, pots and pans for the kitchen, and mugs. The next thing I am looking for suggestions for is other kinds of food. I know how to make simple burgers, but I am curious as to what other ideas you folks have about making food. Thanks again!
  6. Hey, thanks! Those forester hats will work great! I didn't even think about those! I knew I could get some great ideas from here. Keep 'em coming, everyone... I really do appreciate it!
  7. That Odin is awesome. I've got to get my hand son that Dwarves mining set!
  8. I was noticing a sever lack of Oktoberfest city MOCs. I am thinking making one, but I am hoping I can get some help from some of the people here. There are two things I am needing to figure out before it will accurate: 1) How can I best make a polka band, especially the instruments? 2)What can I use for Tyrolean hats? In case you are wondering what a Tyrolean hat is, it's a typical hat you;d see at Oktoberfest. Here's a good picture: http://www.mens-hats.com/id-2216/ImgUpload...010_1224718.JPG This will likely be a small MOC at first (32x32), minifig scale festival. Please feel free to comment here if you have any ideas. Thanks!
  9. Madness? THIS IS LEGO!
  10. I am not sure if this has been posted but I just found a whole bunch of box art and minifigs from the upcoming 2008 sets. Here's a link: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=277530 Enjoy, and mods, feel free to move this to an appropriate forum.
  11. So, how much does this fancy mining set cost? I'd love to get my hands on one but don't have a Target within an hour of my home. I need to know if it's worth the drive. Lucky for you though! I really want to get a few Dwarves and Goblins... a man can dream.
  12. This is great. I like the idea of the impulse sets. It's one thing I could always count on buying as a child. I'm very glad to see them coming back out. These other sets are looking good too.
  13. Easy. Here's the path I would choose: Offer your childhood toys that your parents saved since you were a kid. Just mention that you think they are around the house somewhere and that you should be able to dig them up. That should solve your problem.
  14. Is that right. I have an Obi Wan magnet and the legs simply won't come off... maybe I just need to pull really hard.
  15. The Arms, hands, head, headgear, accessories are removable. However the legs do not detach from the body.
  16. I'd say they are both rare. I don't have either of them. I have most of the classic pirate sets... obviously none that these guys came with. I believe I have a couple of the blue governor/admiral though.
  17. I agree completely with Joebot. I can't think of another toy company that hasn't pulled stunts like this before. Whether it be taking a code from the package to register it online for a chance to win a prize or making limited editions and charging more. Personally, I didn't really care to find a golden C3P0. I haven't bought a Star Wars set, or any other LEGO set, for quite some time. I simply can't afford to. As a college student who is working and taking classes I don't have the money to spend on LEGO. And, even if I would have had the money I didn't feel a need to buy anymore LEGO kits than I normally would, I knew the chances of finding one were very low and I didn't have the money. LEGO was, is and always be the best toy company. They have turned it around since four years ago. They are producing more quality models. Let's be happy about that instead of bitter about not getting a bonus.
  18. I have actually built a MOC pirate ship. I will upload some pictures later on. It's not on the scale that many other MOC pirate ships on this forum are, but it's pretty good in my opinion.
  19. I love this skit, and I know this may not be the right place for this, but I think it would be great to have some torsos created like the ones used in this skit.
  20. This looks so cool. Keep us all updated, please.
  21. Cool. I love the movie Zulu. Good work!
  22. How fitting! I am a huge Monty Python fan. I am actually looking for torsos of the Holy Grail knights. I have seen a video of the Camelot song from Holy Grail done in LEGO and have been trying to find torsos since then.
  23. This is also something I would be interested in. I know it has been done before as I have seen the skit on the HOLY GRAIL DVD. I have no ability in creating torsos, but I think this would be a lot of fun. If anyone wants to see the video I'm sure it is on youtube.com somewhere.
  24. Long time lurker, first time poster. I have enjoyed this board for some time now and finally got around to joining. I am from the United States and am 22 years old. My favorite themes are classic castle and pirate. I also enjoy the Star Wars line and look forward to the Indiana Jones line. I am a college student at Oklahoma State University.
