  1. Agree, this is frustrating. LotR fans would love smaller sets or a CMF for a couple of reasons… affordability (note to LEGO: ease off on the massively priced sets for a while, give us something more reasonably priced, there are many of us customers that are on a fixed/limited budget)… army building (large sets are nice, but look empty with only a couple of figures, plus no way to create impressive MOCs, without breaking the bank) Am I hopeful that Lego will gift us fans smaller LotR sets or a CMF in the future, yes. But the reality is that the current trend seems to indicate that is only wishful thinking. Mind you, I am pleased with the return of the theme and everything that comes out is wonderful, even if I just have to look at the box in the store, because I can’t justify the cost. Hoping to find a figure or two on the secondary market.
  2. So what’s in it exactly? Thanks
  3. Guess the initial shock of $5+ for the grey goat wore off, as it is currently out-of-stock. Waiting patiently for the Wolfpack torsos to return. I’d rather snag 5 of these torsos than just one goat. On a related note, anyone know the details for: CAPES MULTIPACK (4X CAPE NO.68, 1X NO.15, 1X NO.40)ID: 6433938/73518 ? Listed for $8.48. I was unable to find out info on this. Any help identifying actual color(s) and types would be appreciated. Want to know if it is worth it or not. Thank you
  4. 100% Agree. If there are lower than expected sales coupled with unfavorable feedback on the price, that very well may happen. Squeaky wheel…
  5. If enough people provide feedback, as I just did in a positive and respectful manner, your input and concerns will be shared with the powers that be. Since its re-release, the grey goat dropped in price from $5.94 US to $5.17 US. The awesome customer service rep shared that if there continues to be feedback calls and e-mails, the price could drop again. THAT is the outcome I want. “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” – Edmund Burke.
  6. The goat is now listed for $5.94 US. Unnecessarily high. Nothing but greed. WOW! What a slap in the face for consumers. Be better LEGO, or at least TRY to be better. Guess it’s time to storm the castle? Let our frustrations be heard… bombard LEGO customer service with calls and messages saying this is NUTS!
  7. The purchase price for the goat, when initially listed, was $0.59. No idea how much they will increase it to. Probably someone missed a zero and it will be $5.90. If that is the case, us peasants / town-folk should march on LEGO with pitchforks and torches like in those old B&W Frankenstein movies.
  8. Same here. My invoice changed to an even higher amount, removing the dozen goats (for a MOC, not for resale) made the order drop below the threshold for free shipping. If I have to pay MORE for an order and NOT have everything I ordered, then I will definitely have a bone to pick with LEGO! To echo another post, retailer price errors should be on them. Can’t wait to see what exorbitant price LEGO lists the goat this time. Many of us are on a fixed budget and do not appreciate the ever increasing cost of sets, and in this case individual pieces. Why does LEGO want to make it harder for us to enjoy this hobby? Wait, greedy corporate scalping of the consumer. And yes, I wish they would limit the amounts of the highly sought after items to give more people the opportunity to order an item so they are not always out of stock because of evil Bricklink scalpers who purchase hundreds at a time.
  9. Totally agree with Captain Pirate Man! “But that is not for us to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the (LotR LEGO sets) that are given to us.” “Even the smallest (LotR LEGO set) can change the course of the future”
  10. You are correct! As far as fan interest in LOTR, I just came from the theater showing the LOTR trilogy over several three-day periods. This was the second (3-day showing) of the second film in multiple theaters, and it was sold out. Glad I got my tickets weeks before. Going to finish the series tomorrow with my son. Building a couple more bags of Barad-dur with him tonight. We built the GWP first, it is better than expected. I love the massive sets for their detail and (more in the case of Rivendell) their bigger selection of minifigures. But truth be told, I long for the return of smaller playsets in this theme. Well done dioramas and battle packs (of course) would be well receive by many fans. LEGO better crank out more sets… “while the forge is hot!”
  11. I fully support this brilliant idea! Anyone know if anyone from Lego even bothers to read these forums?
  12. Decided to purchase now, mainly for the gift with purchase. As an added bonus, I ordered the minifigure factory fig with the LOTR torso prints. Not sure of the quality, but I couldn’t resist. I’m excited for the sets to arrive, however my wallet is now in intensive care. 🚑🏥 Ouch, that hurt!
  13. Got my tickets for all 3. My understanding is that they will the extended versions. May be too dark to build in the theater 😎
  14. Griffin got my vote. I’d also vote for the Kraken if allowed two votes. Hoping no one votes for the crow, since it has already been done. No re-hashing old designs please. New factions are always welcome. Also like the Gold Spaceman.
  15. My vote was for the warm gold. Although the yellowish green (lime?) looks great too. I understand the bright color choices, but would personally be open to darker shades like dark blue, dark red, dark green, etc. probably won’t ever happen, but I would love to see them (I mean own them) nonetheless. 😉
  16. Griffin got my vote. I’d also vote for the Kraken if allowed two votes. Hoping no one votes for the crow, since it has already been done. No re-hashing old designs please. New factions are always welcome.
  17. Haven’t watched reviews yet. Any good detail on the build, maybe some fun hidden gems, parts usage, or Easter eggs? I will probably buy the set to build it with my son, and then maybe keep only the figures and GWP, haven’t decided yet. Rivendell is currently on prominent display, in all of its grandeur. Probably nothing else this year, but still hoping more sets will come out next year, big or small. Absolutely love the battle pack idea list! I vote for the first 6 or so in the list. ;)
  18. I see the front of the box has the width 17.5in and height 32.5in, but the depth is not specified. Is the third dimension listed anywhere, officially? Also, about how many shields are in the set? Thanks!
  19. Feels like when I was a kid, the night before Christmas. The anticipation is building. Hoping the reveal is indeed tomorrow. As far as future sets are concerned. I wouldn’t mind diorama scenes (w/ quotes) of key moments in the trilogy. Something like Gandalf vs Balrog “You Shall Not Pass” would be awesome. The possibilities are endless… “Speak Friend and Enter” The other day I saw a very cool MOC, an extremely well done diorama of “I can’t carry it for you, but I can carry you” As long as the diorama selections are character-rich, I’d be happy. Now wake me up when I can unwrap my present, the reveal of LEGO Barad Dur!
  20. Personally I’ll take whatever (non-BrickHeadz) sets LEGO gives to us. I am leaning to wanting (and my pocketbook would appreciate) smaller play sets. I believe the smaller sets would sell very well, and would increase the likelihood of more smaller sets down the road. However, if we get one or more large sets like RD and BD, then so be it. Right now anything is great! For the larger sets, I hope for as many new or unique minifigures as possible, like RD. Can’t wait to see the official release of BD (Tuesday?) The GWP sounds exciting and may cause me to purchase day one. Will this be June 1st, or is there a chance of it releasing a couple days early for VIP members?
  21. Wouldn’t mind a small GWP set (similar to the Wizard Battle) showcasing Isildur battling Sauron for the One Ring. It would be a chance to use the Narsil mold again. Just a thought. If the GWP was a lone minifigure polybag (thinking Breakfastime Bilbo), who would be the most sought after? It could be tied to the tower, but wouldn’t have to be. Interested in anyone’s opinion. I’ll be sure to pass ideas along to my “friend” in Denmark 😉
  22. Any guess as to the dimensions of the Barad’Dur tower’s base (footprint). Trying to see if/where it could fit. Excited to see the actual announcement and the details of the build. Any day now?
  23. With Dark Forces Remastered finally available, any chance of seeing a Kyle Katarn minifigure in the future? Here’s hoping 🤞
  24. MK Thanks for your reply. Yes it was the white guy. The eyebrows look to be missing with what appears to be a smudge on top of the head. Upon closer examination, the smudge is the eyebrow printing but way up top and to the left side. Thankfully no parts were missing. I will, as you suggest, email LEGO and let them know of this quality issue. Especially since mine was not the only occurrence.
  25. I was lucky to find the Tantive IV Hallway early. It is a nice set. My son likes the play features. Has anyone had a misprint on minifigures lately? One of the Stormtrooper heads had the eyebrows printed on top of the head. The face looks strange 😐
