DC Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
BitByBrick replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
Very happy with them all. Can’t wait to see the Bat-Mite fig. Joker’s awesome, definitely like the hair. Love Jay G, Cheetah and the first appearance Batman and WW. Hope we can get a FA Superman to go with them. Let the wish lists for series two begin... -

Is it the fault of DC or is it LEGO that dropped the ball? Here’s hoping that we do get a second DC CMF series to fill in some gaps... those 4 above mentioned missing figs and to get some never-before released characters that many of us have been waiting for. It would be a shame not to have a first appearance Superman. Maybe the next series can be 20 figs or more. So many DC characters to pull from... Fingers crossed. -

Cheetah looks great! Love all the classic designs in this wave. Original Batman, WW and now Cheetah. A classic Superman would be nice to complete the big 3 in DC. Can’t wait to see the rest of the figs. Hope they are released during December, or sooner. -

Are they leaked somewhere, or what are you referring to? -

Yes we will definitely see at least one Batman and Superman. Would the “Rainbow Batman” from Detective Comics #241 count as one figure or 6? Also, how about a retro George Reeves Superman outfit? I’m excited for this series and any new characters or new outfit designs of DC characters will be great. Please keep comments on the positive fact that they (LEGO) are making this series in the first place and all these figures that are included is a huge bonus for all DC superhero and villain fans (kids and adults alike! ) -

Fun topic. As a big DC fan, I’d take any and all of these minifig choices. Looking forward to see who makes the cut. Thanks for posting this survey. -

You are not the only one my friend. YJ would be a nice addition to the DC minifigures theme. -

Like LEGO did with the first Jurassic Park control room set... Lego could make an inside of S.T.A.R. Labs scene with the entire gang from the tv show. Now THAT would be awesome. Instead of another police station, any DC location (outside of the many LEGO Batcaves) would give kids more playability. Alas, this is again something Lego would likely not do. Just the “vibe” I’m getting. -

To appeal to the “kids”, LEGO could make Young Justice sets (hint hint Lego) Also the regular Teen Titans wouldn’t be a bad idea. It would tie in to the Batman theme while giving us many more interesting DC characters! Heck, they could even throw in a Batman Minifigure in each set if they wanted to. I (I mean my kids) wouldn’t mind. Just saying... -

True. Nice to have hopeful discussion on this thread once again. My daughter would absolutely flip if we got any Young Justice minifigs (Kid Flash, Artemis, etc) -

Nice set. Well done! -
If they did that (keeping the same unique minifigs), it would have been a day one purchase. Imagine the vignettes they could have also added and not hidden behind the gate... The sign that Nerdy runs into with the Jeep. An electric fence for the T-Rex. Etc. I still fear that this is the last hurrah for Lego’s venture into the ‘93 Jurassic Park movie.
-
I disagree. Just because Lego makes a set, it doesn’t make it immune from criticism. Lego can and has made poor decisions in their set designs. Personally, I didn’t care for Assembly Square, although I do like and have purchased other modulars. In some cases it is the set not the rumor or speculation. The designer did a great job giving us an oversized Dino and gate. Not my cup of tea, so I will have to pass (although I am a huge JP fan) And no, I didn’t cook up any crazy ideas, just don’t like some of the final products and have to be careful of how I spend my $$$.
-
Exactly! Imagine this set (only in minifigure scale) with the vehicles to recreate those iconic scenes from the movie. That would have been soooo awesome! Smaller. Less expensive. More playability by using the characters outside of the back of the gate “caves”. Able to tie in to the other existing JP set. Who determined that D2C sets had to be these large over-scale, super expensive sets anyway? Good grief! Give us something fun and a little more affordable. That would have been nice.
-
I’m disappointed and I didn’t want the visitors center. The gate and T-Rex are way too big. A minifig scaled down version would have been just fine. The large scale is probably why they didn’t include an Explorer or Jeep. Those are necessary to any JP gate set in my opinion. The vehicles being omitted makes the set feel lacking and the over-size makes it have (dare I say it) a Duplo-like feel. The one redeeming quality of the set is the 3 new design minifigures are great.
-
I highly doubt it is a licensing issue... I also don’t think we will see any future JP sets. Not including the Explorer was just either a major miscalculation or intellectual oversight on those Lego decision makers. The pulse of JP fans was not investigated or just ingnored entirely. I was hoping for a gate but with an Explorer and a Jeep. This was a huge miss by LEGO and a major disappointment. The figures leaked gave me hope, but alas they were dashed. I could be wrong about no future JP sets (and I would like to see more) but I see no logic for LEGO to further invest in the JP theme.

I will feel better connected with LEGO DC once the Shazam polybags show up. -
Jurassic World 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
BitByBrick replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
Someone at Lego got way too creative and it backfired. I personally was rooting for the main gate, but NOT like this. Was hoping for the inclusion of a Jeep and Explorer. Plus a couple molded dinosaurs to make the iconic scenes ( especially with new Nerdy and Malcom minifigures - “must go faster!”) After seeing this, I guess I’ll have to BrickLink the figs and just make those scenes myself. No way I’m buying this set. Too big, too weird, too ugly, too expensive, too disappointing. -

A Shazam polybag, Awesome! Just saw the leaked image. I prefer this no hood version. This is great news for my wallet. I wonder if this will be available at Target and / or Wally-World? Hope this is made available soon. -

Question is, what is the best hair to use for Shazam? Looks like he just has a white hood in the set, which I don’t like. Thoughts? -

If Shazam is in set 76120, any idea what set 76121 might be? Also, does this mean the “leaked” images of the Shazam Minifigs are not to be trusted? -

BitByBrick replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
I’m getting a little skeptical about the Shazam minifig that was “leaked”. The leaker is trying to sell them both on insta and eBay. Must be custom printed job, especially if he has that many to sell. Just too good to be true? We still might get a Shazam with leg printing, that is if we get an official LEGO set at all. Cautiously optimistic. A wise man once said... “Trust, but verify.” -

One question I have is, where will we see this minifigure...In a $5 polybag? $50 Batman set? Gift with $75 purchase from Legoshop? Since the design is not from the movie, maybe not a stand alone set? Besides where it will show up, the other question is when? Soon I hope! (The main cast of characters for the DC superheroes team is almost complete, thanks LEGO) -

Finally... SHAZAM!!!! Not picky about the design, I like it, just sooo happy we are getting him! Probably an older white cape? Legs can be adjusted as well, if something good can be found.
