Welcome Sergio. I've really been enjoying your Portuguese locomotives. I love the orange color scheme that I think is very unique. It's really neat to see how some of us build trains based on our geographic region. Hope to see more from you - especially some rolling stock.

With some "left-over" orange parts, Sergio is back to building again. This time, he has created a beautiful Portuguese diesel engine, a Bombardier CP1961:

It's always great to think about all the fun we had as kids with sets like this. To give you an idea of some memorable fun a friend and I had with this set (and his Space Cruiser): we would run through my house literally throwing the ships through the air. Once they crashed (and I did break a few pieces doing this), the red and white space figs would have to scout the terrain with the moon buggy to find the pieces that flew off the ship. Once back together again, they would fly back to Legoland: That was around 30 years ago for me. It's nice to reminisce.

Great technique that I haven't seen before. Thanks for sharing.

I'm not a big Space fan, but I must say that this is a very eye-catching creation. I love how you designed the sleeping quarters, especially with the colors you chose. The rover/vehicle is a very interesting and unusual design, and the way you created the orange ground - most unique. Is that felt or other fabric? I think this deserves to be front-paged. Very neat creation Chris.

I must admit that I was initially drawn to this MOC by its name thinking that it may be some kind of barren desert Mars scene. I was quite surprised to discover something entirely different and rather unique. Space fan Chrispockster creates this nicely detailed colonization module and rover, a scene called How Mars Was Won - very unique indeed:

Very nice RC, but please watch your image size. Site guidelines = no larger than 800x600. Thanks.

Neat little express post - and modern design. I think once you add the stickers/decals to the front. The exterior will look even better. -
MOC: Santa Fe Western 4-4-0 Locomotive
WesternOutlaw replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Thanks Cap'n Z. I was thinking the same thing myself, and tried it last night. I tried using the blind drivers in the front. It did eliminate a little bit of the problem, but not much. Then I tried the blind drivers in the back - same issue. I'm not sure what to do, but it can't take a curve. In looking at locomotives by Tony and other steam train builders, they use four flanged drivers and the little wheels in the front as well. I'm not sure why mine doesn't seem to be working. I did remove the rods as well. Perhaps it's the little wheels? I'll have to keep tinkering. Thanks Rick. I love looking at it now. That first model just wasn't right, but thanks to the tips, I was able to build this. For a very basic builder like me, I'm very happy with it. I honestly never thought decals could make a big difference (as one who hates stickers), but they really do. Thanks. Oh, and BTW Mendes: I love those vintage trains in your signature. It would be great to see some images or a review of any of those trains wagons. -
Kickbacks, bribery, and murder have thwarted construction on Hawk's Diner for well over a year, but TinyPiesRUs remains vigilant to complete construction this year (maybe). Check out his 40s diner in the Town Forum, but don't get too confortable. One can never be too careful with the Noir Mafia.

Aside from Indy, I think this should be moved to Train Tech. It would have been a lot easier if that 2nd scene showed a skeleton with just an Indy hat.
-
Cute - but I've really got my eyes on the train - interesting layout. On a side note, I like your flooring. Siegfried: thanks for answering my question. That's an interesting layout as well, esp. w/ the little Fabuland additions. I like that bridge.

Nice images, but please know that our max image size is 800x600 next time you post. Thanks.

There's more than a fever to create Wild West MOCs lately, especially after seeing I Scream Clone's latest addition to the western genre. He's created a fantastic Gold Rush Fever scene. You may want to cover the eyes of the young'ns though - there's somebody with his boots and britches off in that there shower! Check out this outstanding Wild West diorama:

ISC is on the Western scene. Love it! I didn't realize you had posted here on EB after commenting on FlickR. I love that mountain - neat to see you using different techniques. The river is nice, esp. all the action along the banks. I really like the fig in the shower. Nice mining cart, and all the other little details. Overall, very nice creation. What's next? I'm looking forward to seeing your next MOC.

MOC: Driving the cattle past the old shop
WesternOutlaw replied to Etzel's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
You're darn toot'n! It's well deserved. I love the little extras like the buzzard (although I may have seen that design somewhere before), the green cactus, the brown cactus bush, and the incorporation of the cows. Overall, a nice mid-sized Wild West scene. Looking forward to seeing more of your WW creations Etzel. -
What is the hardest Lego set you have ever built?

(calls Hector to bring back the tour bus so that group can attach a chain to some of the demon statues). This will be fun! When we get them outside, lets place them in funny positions. Hector, where are you? Come on guys, maybe we can just push them outside. Sylvia... Siegourney... you look like strong lads ladies. Give me a hand with Big David here. Okay - which one of you left the kissy lipstick prints on him? If Hinck asks us about the statues, just begin whistling. This will be a hoot! (whispers to self: oh crap, I seem to have lost my Chapstick) -
Wow! Some really creative ideas. I'm impressed. In looking at this baseplate, I actually thought it was like that of LEGO System. Are the holes larger on these DUPLO plates. They look the same, but perhaps it's the image?

Thanks Henri - appreciate that. I love the LEGO boxes - very clever.
