  1. Very clever - what an adorable little Mario vehicle. I love those brick-built black and white stripes. While Mariokart may be licensed, it's not quite LEGO Licensed, so I think Town is just fine for this fantastic little creation. In fact, quite deserving of a front-page blog, with one slight modification. Great job Rupi. I'd love to build one for a little EB Racing competition (kinda like a Snow Box Derby).
  2. Who's that in the kar? It looks like a LEGO Mario. Check out Rupi's latest creation:
  3. Looks like we've got us an actual sighting boys. I've been waiting for this my entire MOTEE Tour career . They're Here! (I've always wanted to be able to say that). (Somewhere, someplace, a television screen gets fuzzy) I would like to reach out to the "Civil War Confederate Soldier-like" ghost/spirit and say, "Why have you come to the material world? Who or what has summoned you to this place? Can you communicate with us? Knock three times if you can hear us. Have you been to Grave Stone? If not, simply move this pencil across the floor. (throws down MOTEE Survey pencil to the ground watching intently) I also have this fork which you may bend if you can hear us... (ping) Or this small Websters' Book of Witty Quotes of which you can blow the pages. (throws book to the floor) But whatever you do, please don't manifest your spirit into one of these many demon statues - especially the big one in the center. Whispers to Spirit: If you must take one of us, please let it be one of the women (esp. the Bull Dykes).
  4. Hey - Check it out! It's a Civil War Confederate soldier ghost? (has the following vision)
  5. This crap always seems to happen during MOTEE Tours - I'm starting to think it's just me. Do any of you remember Gilligan's Island? - yep, another MOTEE Tour. (tosses last remaining comment cards he hid in his dry pocket)
  6. Space fan Thunder-blade shares this clever little Recon Vehicle in the Space Forum. Moon buggies have certainly come a long way since Classic Space.
  7. You'll see them here when they become available. Please be patient with any future set image(s). In addition, there's another topic related to the HP train.
  8. Yes, I'll second that Jamie. It is great to see you taking time to visit these topics on EB. We appreciate it. This is another spectacular set that I will certainly buy once released. I love the overall color combination, and it will provide a nice addition to "cap" or "corner-off" the other modular sets. I'm really looking forward to adding to my collection.
  9. I'm actually looking at the cargo engine now on a shelf I have near my computer. I actually like the overall design, and I'm also a fan of American diesel engines (since I had HO trains as a kid). This particular Euro-style loco has some nice features like the use of four classic train doors (two opposite direction). I think it was great to see the return of these doors in a newer set. Also, I like the electric connecters on top, the removable roof sections, and the use of yellow railing. I think the yellow pieces add a bit of "unique character" to the engine. I also like the choice of green for most of the unit. I suppose my only complaint would be the middle wall section between the doors that just look a bit plain. It makes the loco look elongated. Aside from that, I think it's a pretty nice engine.
  10. Oh crap! I hate to say I told you so, but I told you so. I think I just wet myself again.
  11. As the staff member that removed the image, I think I should probably respond to the recent comments. This is the picture that I removed from the Town topic that was labelled "Only for 18 Plus": The moderators were alerted after one member brought the topic to our attention, for reasons unrelated to the "adult image". After looking at the MOC and reading the discussion that it was causing, I took it upon myself to remove the image in "good taste" as the Town Moderator. While I took no personal offense to the image; some may, and some may not. Thinking that the topic was "more trouble than it was worth" and the fact that the discussion was quickly going "off-topic", I simply closed it. My thought at the time was that with so many other Town-related building opportunities, this image and topic was not creating a "healthy" or "value-added" discussion. The staff discussed the image later and most felt that it was not offensive and should have not been removed (as this is an adult site). In retrospect, I probably should have just redirected the topic to focus on the creation, rather than the image despite the off-topic discussion. While EB is an "adult site", all of the staff; being on different time zones, do not have the ability to read topics and respond at the same time. In addition, we sometimes react differently, as views can be subjective. The staff; however, does talk about EB polices and issues like this when they arise, in an on-going effort to improve the site and bring clarity and consistency when needed. On the issue of annoying EB members that post in Town, Train Tech, and other forums: myself and others continue to try to weed them out. You can help by continuing to alert us when you see it. In addition, just creating more mature discussions and topics in the forums help encourage them to NOT participate.
  12. I must admit that I'm very confused as to where to stick the bricks. I'm not sure if they are meant to be placed on top of the tiles, or in statues, or in any other place. The holes and bricks are confusing me! Okay, now that I got that out, I will look the other way if a few investigate the construction zone. Just be careful. If something happens, I warned you.
  13. Ya, Pokey? EDIT: if I only had my Johnson Rod...
  14. Expert builder Cagri does it again with another fantastic creation, this one called, Love Street. The words "Play Well" are etched on the custom decal prominently displayed on top of one of the buildings.
  15. From someone who stores a lot of sets in boxes, definately true, but it is hard to appreciate sets that are stored away in boxes; plus MOC building becomes very difficult. I could generally run 1-2 displays at a time, but three somewhat pushes it as rooms and space limit display space. What I would love to have is a dedicated LEGO room with a train display along perimeter tables. Tables against each wall would have different displays as the train(s) pass by. For instance, one section could be Indy Jungle, then Desert, Wild West, City, Castle, etc. If I were to go with a shelf display (and I have bookshelves now), I'd love to have glass cabinets to keep the dust off. I'm just dreaming though. EDIT: One can also add shelves to a room. A while back, I didn't have any table space for some trains I wanted to leave constructed, so I went out and purchased a few inexpensive wall shelves. This is what they look like: While they do get dusty (and I have not cleaned them in a while), I appreciate being able to see them, and showing them to visitors. One could do the same with Indy or any other theme.
  16. Rock Me Amadeus! That's a lot of Cafe Corners. They actually look really good side-by-side.
  17. I'd like to try filling the tile with four blocks, then begin dancing to the tune of Tetris.
  18. Good mapping Sheldon. That helps.
  19. I'd like to take two of the dark grey stones (headlights w/ tiles) and place them on top of the nearest dark grey tile on the floor (the one on the far South side of the room marked with a 2). If two doesn't fill the square, I'll try more. Can they be pushed down into the floor?
  20. (I meant the headlight bricks) Let's try this. I would like to match the map with the actual room to identify the colors of each marked square on the map ("1", "2s", "Xs", & ?). (I must admit that I'm having a hard time distinguishing the colors in the first "Red Moon" picture). If you allow me to do this, I'd like to take each of the "headlight" bricks (that have tiles) and place them in the squares in accordance with the colors on the map (1, 2s, Xs, & ?). I see that the statues are the shaded blocks (one missing in the right (East) side of the room), and the four center shaded areas are the columns. Let's see if this does anything, and we will have to play with that missing piece.
  21. I would like to pick up a few of the stones/blocks. Do they seem to have different weights? (some heavier than others?) Are same-color blocks the same weight? Not sure if you answered this, but I see that some have holes. Do these holes allign with any of the tiles/bricks on the floor?
