  1. Hey - this reminds me of the kiddie menus at Denny's. Look, if we connect these lines and these blocks, it spells DEMONS. Oops, my bad - that was BACON N EGGS. I was never good at these sorts of puzzles. Just some observations I'm trying to analyze. 16 total bricks, 4 in each color (set) Each set has two open (with holes), two capped/closed From the map: 8 shaded around the room 9 forming a square in the middle 1 missing 1 #1 2 #2s 2 ?s 3 Red checks Very interesting indeed. What to make of this? EDIT: additional observation... N-E-S-W forms a square as in the rotation of a clock (12 o'clock, 3, 6, 9)
  2. This has some of the nicest decals that I've seen. They really look like printed bricks. This is an outstanding creation! Great colors and a nice design as well. I look forward to seeing the community build project. Excellent!
  3. Thanks for the ideas so far guys! I appreciate the tips. Tony: that's an awesome creation! To tell you the truth, your steam engines came to mind, especially w/ thoughts on the upcoming Toy Story train. Yes - that's a great idea that I had considered. I had used the log car from the My Own Train collection once before to create a Union ammunition car. It also reminds me of an old Western called 100 Rifles (although I can't remember if it was a troop train or just lot of boxcars). My Civil War Train was along this line though, so I wanted something a bit different. I won't discount the idea though. Definately a classic Western idea, but it's been done so many times before. Also, would it be very Mexican? I don't know? I have been looking at lots of images from old wooden train wagons thinking I may try one (not in the traditional 12V or 9V fashion). Thanks Tim. That's really nice of you to say. I love your "box train" as a huge fan of all things Western. I'll check this train out once again. I had not considered going this far back (although I recall the Perkins engine). Interesting though. Yes. I've seen it. To tell you the truth, I went out and purchased the latest TS western set with the anticipation of buying the TS train. I actually like it, and am looking forward to finding out how LEGO will power it (if they do so). It's along the line of a Western steam engine like that from Tony or Tim. It will be a number of months before release though. I don't know if the Mexican Village will still be intact by then. Great thoughts and suggestions all. I look forward to hearing any others. EDIT: I should mention that I have a few cars and engine from 3225 Classic Train currently set up, but want something unique.
  4. Shaken or stirred, if I told you once, I'll tell you again, I have no control over my urinary disfunction problem. I know that it's a big joke to you and the bull dykes, and that you're fascinated with my little problem, but I don't pee on demand (not for you or anyone else). It comes when I least expect it; in fact, you might want to look down on your shoes. (Stanton looks down to see he's standing in a small yellow puddle) . Yes, that's right. I did that earlier when we first entered the room. I was hoping that no one would notice, but since you had to "man-handle" me, I'm glad to see you pleasantly surprised. (quickly walks away from the scene pointing and laughing at Stanton)
  5. This is cute Otters. Makes me crave an Orange Julius. (or even a lemonade - but that's another story). I could also see this doubling for a neat Halloween pumpkin stand (pumpkin milkshakes perhaps - I don't know though ) Nice job!
  6. Outstanding creations are really coming out of the History forum lately. Check out this amazing MOC called First Reichsstraße, by the Brick Time (aka EB member MrBrick&BoB):
  7. Wow! Neat trailer, and a great movie to remake. Clash of the Titans from 1981 was a Ray Harryhausen film. He created the movie magic for the Sinbad movies, as well as films like Jason and the Argonauts and Valley of the Gwangi. To todays standards, many may not be real impressed, but his stop-motion effects were state of the art at the time, and he helped create stop-motion filming (with dinos and other mythical creatures). To see a new remake of a great story with computer graphics and modern movie magic will be awesome. Thanks for sharing the news - I look forward to seeing this movie.
  8. Interesting topic. I'm looking forward to seeing how some of the other members display their Indy collections. You've got a nice one Jim. Shelf space is always nice. At one time, I had set up a Jungle Adventure: TOPIC Later replacing it with a Desert Adventure: TOPIC (click images for larger pictures) Unfortunately, table size and space limits me the ability to leave the displays up. Most of my Indy collection is now in boxes. I currently only have the planes from Fighter Plane Attack constructed.
  9. (whispers to self: they'd be better to just leave the lights out) Folks: we do have lighting from a generator. I don't think we need to worry about lack of moonlight.
  10. And all this time, I thought she was just a male cross-dresser. (whispers under breath: and a Fugly one at that)
  11. Hmmm... I don't recall seeing any turned up stones last time I was here, but then again I could have missed it. I'd like to examine the floor for turned up or loose stones - perhaps even getting down on all fours and pushing the stones with my hand. If I find one, I promise not to pee on it. No - just us right now (I think).
  12. This is the Grand Chamber of the temple. The statue you see in the middle is known as Vaccuus. He stands on what many believe is an alter. That column in the corner is under renovation, so please be careful around the scaffolding.
  13. Actually, I like the slower pace Hinck. It doesn't require as much effort to keep up with whats going on. I think you're doing a fine job, and the story is interesting. Nice building as well.
  14. Okay folks. We're gonna have us an eclipse in just about an hour. This is the fun part! (there may be a clue in this favorite video o' mine at around 1:53). Just kidding!
  15. Welcome to EB and to Train Tech Lego9VTrainFan. I really enjoyed watching your videos, esp. the train crash. I hope you enjoy the forum.
  16. Wow! This is just amazing. How long did this magnificent creation take you to build? While the church is superb, I love the "trail up the hill" with the splendid lanscaping and hidden details. The base is also quite nice with the use of the different shields. The stain glass windows are also a beautiful touch. Have you built an interior yet? Very impressive and most deserving of a front-page!
  17. As part of his larger "Camelot project", Castle fan Derfel Cardarn builds this amazingly detailed St. Cadoc's Church. We can only imagine what Camelot will look like.
  18. Hi All: I've been busy at it again expanding the Old Mexican Village which I've been sharing in the History Forum. Now that I've got a pretty good sized town going, I created a 9V rail line right through the heart of the town with plans to add a train. It got me thinking, what sort of train might I add to the village? passenger perhaps? cargo? or a mixed-style Western train? The village is set around the late 1800s to early 1900s. BMW's Pancho Villa Train serves as a great "inspiration train", but not only is it way too detailed for my town, but it's far above my building expertise. This brings me back to the classics with ideas from 12V and 9V sets. Do any of you have any ideas in regard to what might make a nice train addition? I'd appreciate any ideas/suggestions you might have.
  19. It's more than a week old, but Swashbuckler Stanley Kbrick 's pirate creation is certainly one of the most creative uses of a ship's hull that I've seen. His Fisherman's House definately puts the "ship" in shiphouse.
  20. Thanks for bringing EB the first review of this set Mikey. I've added a poll so that others can vote on how well they like it.
  21. I'd have to disagree with this comment completely. As a huge fan of Classic Town, today's LEGO sets are anything but disappointing and boring. It is true that many of the regular City sets do not have the charm of Classic Town, but I think LEGO has really excelled in offering a wide-variety of different "standard " City sets, especially in the last few years. We've seen the introduction of Farm, outstanding construction vehicles, Coast Guard, and a variety of other City sets that aren't related to Police and Fire. Then there's the Modulars that I don't even need to mention. Nothing has compared to these fantastic models.
  22. Thanks guys! Here's those additional images: Eagle's eye view: The cheering crowd - all of these folks appeared in the other village creations: Side shot: That looks like Johnson Willoughby in the crowd The back (actually the front). I think I need another clock decal: The front side posters: The wall can be straightened: Or even turned inward forming a U-shape: Lastly, a close-up of the entrance: That concludes my visit to the Plaza de Toros. Now I have to work on integrating it into the Mexican Village. EDIT: Expanded one again:
