Little Lego mini figs are bricked.
-
I could understand this completely and have to agree with the rational. The word "discrimination" was used previously to describe Lego not puting more female figs in city sets. While I like female figs for the "rareness" and uniqueness, to describe this as discriminatory is pretty silly to me. What's next, Lego having to include figs of each major race in all sets (to be "politically correct")? As a kid, I remember a few female figs in sets, and they did in fact always get thrown aside by me and my friends. Now I like them in city displays because they make the city more realistic (kids would be neat too). - maybe that's why train sets seem to include more female figs (at least mentioned previously by someone). The HP and Spider Man female figs were nice and maybe Batman will offer a few too. I esp. like the old pirate and the castle FFs as well. One always could remove a male head and put it on any fig (police man, fire man, knight, etc.). Maybe a few female heads would be a nice addition for a quick optional female fig.

We've beat the color issue up in a number of forums/on different sites, but you're probably right. Anyone that doesn't collect trains would probably not have an issue with the change. It's unfortunate though for those of us that have moderate amounts of train track that we want to expand. It's not that I dislike the color, it just doesn't match existing track. I don't even bother adding or even using my HP track with regular grey track. I'll never understand a logical reason why Lego changed color. Now we have another track type to deal with. I don't plan to collect a single piece of the new track and I've got a pretty good collection of trains and train buildings.

Can you imagine an actual knight dressed in purple with a purple helmet? This is another reason I'm not real fond of KK.

Electric track is still available through SAH (at least in the US). It comes in the old gey color. I've got a pretty good stock, but I may order just in case. I don't trust Lego anymore. I've got a Harry Potter Express that came with the new Bley. The color is just bad compared to the old color. OK, don't get me started! In any case, I would recommend stocking up on the electric track. The new battery train can run fine on the old track, so if I'd have to choose, I'd pick the old track- that way it works with both motors.

To name a few in no particular order: - A western train town with old-time station, hotel/inn, saloon, water tower, windmill, mill, and church. - A western steam train with cattle car, plush coaches, box car/mail car, and caboose. - An Alamo fort with Mexican and American soldiers. - Civil war soldiers with bunkers, forts, flags, and arms. - Castles sets that aren't so *I wanted to say that this set contains a lot of big pieces but didn't want to take the time to write it all, so I used the word "<insert that tiresome argument>" instead* and include an army (not KK heroes). - A Pirates of the Caribbean theme with Port Royal and/or a portside/pirate town. - A Forestmen Legend/re-release. I could keep going...

Not sure, but they look very good. I just noticed your title EW. I don't know if I'd want a title like that. Mates around these parts that bear that name infest pirate threads like the plague!

yep, that is true.

Definately the flash with the mask.

You're welcome. Good luck.

It looks like it snubbed it's nose. But I still like it. I wish these sets weren't just promotional. Esp the last one prior to this:

How much is Enchanted Island worth you?
WesternOutlaw replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
I think it does devaluate the original, because despite different packaging, it's still the same set and makes the set less rare. Still, I think the original is worth more than the re-release. -
Very nice. I think the pirate ship is among the best of the collection. I esp. like the brown sails.
-
Not a real good MOC at all.
-
Very Paradisia-like. Must be the pink. I like the female pirates though. I never had one of this figs and always thought they were pretty rare.

Reminds me of Captain Marvel:

I don't think a used set would be worth more than about $40 US. I personally only by MISB sets or I don't buy the set at all. After just checking the starting price for this set on Brick Link, it starts at $42, so I was pretty close. A new set starts at $69. Considering this set was re-released, that brings the value down in my opinion. It's not as rare. In addition, I don't think this is that good a set either. But if you really wanted one, I would pay the extra for a new set in a sealed box, which should not be that hard to find. This is one Legend that I passed up. -
I find that usually after four or more cars, the motor significantly slows down and/or causes the engine to skid. You can attach a 2nd motor to the same engine, or even a motor on the engine and the last car to pull and push the cars in between at the same time. Most motors work at a similar speed, but I did have one motor that was a little slower than others. Using two will power a train pretty well and I have done this a number of times. My trains are usually no more than six cars (I think the Santa Fe coaches are heavier than most). I never had engines disconnect due to the magnets giving out though and based on the assembly, I'm not sure how you would connect cars with more than one coupler/magnet. Two motors should be adequate to pull about 10 cars.

I had not heard that TRU was going out of business. It's too bad if they are though. They have the largest supply/variety of Lego sets where I live. I have noticed that the stores always seem slow. This is probably a result of Walmart and Target discounting their toys periodically which really gives them a lot of competition. Lego is becoming less and less on the shelves of the toy stores. At least TRU maintained good supply.

I'm looking forward to seeing the batboat.

I like the island. Lego should make a set like this (minus the pink).

Hi Alex. I have the Cargo Train and find it a very nice set. First, it's a complete set (I like the fact that it includes everything needed including a light and right point/switch). I esp. like the boxcar and the engine, and the grey and green color scheme. I don't have the high speed, however, that I'm not crazy about. From what I heard, the new track is completely compatible with electric track but probably won't send an electric current without metal rails. I will probably buy the new cargo train though, simply for the rolling stock (cargo crane and box car(s). I'm not too crazy about an engine that needs 6 batteries though, so not sure if I will like this new "play train" style. Looking forward to seeing the new set. I'm not real fond of the new passenger train though (once again), but the cargo should be pretty nice from the images.

Mini-Trains (or) just "minis". They are kinda neat.

Pretty slick. Thanks for sharing.

Aside from the pink, it's not a bad MOC at all.
