  1. I recently wrote Lego SAH (US) a message asking about future Legends; if Lego has stopped this program. This was the response I received: Our Company is constantly working to broaden the appeal of our products, thus we appreciate your feedback. If you check our web site (www.lego.com), you will see that we currently offer hundreds of items! There's something for everyone! You are right the last LEGEND was the City Airport, a set that had many requests to come back in the line. We never know what will be introduced or re-introduced until it is here. Just keep your eye on the Shop at Home Catalog and the LEGO Website for all the new and up to date information on new sets. We are constantly evaluating comments from valued consumers about our products, so I will be sure to pass a copy of your comments on to the appropriate department for their information. Typical vague Lego response not promising or confirming anything. Not to complain, but I don't mind the color, it's the fact that I have 100+ train tracks in the old gray that don't match the new color. It's the consistency/matching issue more than anything. But you are correct in regard to moving forward. But people need to let Lego know that they don't like the practice. It will help prevent Lego from doing it again.
  2. Very nice Athos. Happy Belated Birthday and nice scene. Dino island looks cool!
  3. Well, it looks like the Super Chief is voted best engine. It is a great model, and Lego's most detailed engine made to date (followed closely by the BNSF). - Now if we could get a detailed steam engine as the next train model, that would be awesome!. I did this photo review a while back if anyone would like to see some close-up pics of the Super Chief: Super Chief Photo Review
  4. He may be interrogated if you have specific questions.
  5. This post was pinned as an index/tracking mechanism. Any reason someome removed it from the pinned list?
  6. A playset similar to the set for the Great Escape (movie) would work brilliantly and wouldn't eveen require that much backdrop/be too piece intensive... Nathan Agree. That would be great. Great movie too!
  7. "Now, I'm a busy man and I don't have time for silly questions. Now you ask me to show you my luggage? This is quite unorthodox and I do not appreciate being treated as if I'm hiding evidence in a murder case. I plan to file a formal complaint with this airline over this blatant invasion of my privacy. I will go ahead and show you my suit case simply to put an end to this game of charades." Stan Sinclair raises the door to the overhead bin and pulls down a white medium-sized suit case. He places it on a chair and opens it. His face turns pale as he looks at the empty contents with astonishment. "What, the Tiger's Roar is missing. Someone has stolen the Tiger's Roar"! After spending a few minutes calming down Stan Sinclair, he explains: "the Tiger's Roar is a priceless blue sapphire that I purchased in Frankfurt. It was given to the Queen of Austria by the 3rd son of the Sultan of India. The Tiger's Roar is a beautiful gem that has the small image of a roaring tiger's face that appears when the gem is held to the light. Someone has taken the Tiger's Roar! I will see to it that this thief is found and punished to the furthest extent of the law, and I will sue this airline for every penny that I can"! Stan begins yelling loudly when Mitch the steward comes over and requests that he sit down. Stan demands that the entire plane be searched and that the plane not be permitted to land until the gem is found.
  8. OK, OK, I hear you want to speak with me regarding this murder. OK, let's be quick about it. First, I don't know the man who was murdered, I don't know why anyone would want him dead, and I certainly had no involvement in his unpleasant demise. My name is Stan Sinlair. I work for a wealthy collector of fine antiquities, and I often travel between Germany and the States operating as a buyer. What's in the suitcase? Just a few items that I picked up in Frankfurt. I don't trust these airlines with my luggage. Why are you so pale? OK, I don't make fun of your name Mr. Cobb, so I'd appreciate you not making fun of my skin tone. Why are you on this flight? As I said previously, I'm a buyer for an antique dealer. Did you know the victim? I believe I answered that question already. Now, I'll answer just a few more questions, and then you can go bother someone else.
  9. How long have you worked for these airlines? I've been employed by Lego Air for a few years. Prior to that, I was a night security guard with a bank in LA. Have you got a weapon with you? no, I wouldn't be permitted to bring a weapon on board. Do you have any martial arts training? can't say that I do but I love Jackie Chan. Have you ever seen a Seth Bernstein movie? does he do those comedy films? Not sure that I heard of him. What do you think of Buzz? I heard he's a pretty good pilot, but a little sure of himself if you ask me. Military officers are all like that. He's definately fond of the ladies, if you know what I mean. Well, let me see if I can make that call now with the in-flight telephone. They don't always work in stormy weather.
  10. I always heard the European sets had shooting cannons. These would have been great. None of my Wild West or Pirate cannons shoot. :( Probably a safety issue? I thought about this as well. A long mine track would have been awesome. I don't even have any rail pieces to extend the track.
  11. I'll have to give this one a '5' Phes. It's a beautiful structure (I've always liked the combination of white and yellow bricks); it has a great assortment of minifigs (among my favorites), uses some nice pieces well (like the door and the window), and comes with a boat w/sail, palm tree, and lots of accessories. What's not to love about this set? I just wish they still made sets like this.
  12. Master Yoda, what do you mean by harming parallel markets such as eBay and BrickLink? I acquired all my Legends and re-releases off eBay much cheaper than I would have buying them from LEGO Direct. It seems Legends give more products for sellers to offer on these parellel markets, providing they know to sell them in such a way that makes them profit, which is usually what the sellers I buy from fail miserably at :-D Usually one pays a lot more for sets on Ebay. I was wondering what happened to the Legend program as well. I particularly liked Black Falcon's Fortress, the Guarded Inn, and one of my favorite City sets, Main Street. I may still buy the airport, but this isn't high on my list. I'd love to see Lego re-release some of the great 80s sets.
  13. Questions for the airport employee with the red hat. What is your role on the plane? Hello. My name is John Falklin. I'm an air traffic controller with Lego Air and was in Frankfurt for a training conference. I'm required to wear a suit as an employee of the airline, but I'm just flying home. Where would the knife have come from? Not too sure about this, but it doesn't surprise me in the least. This airline is pretty relaxed when it comes to security. Tickets aboard our planes are pretty expensive and we only cater to a few, if you know what I mean. These types of people don't generally bring knives aboard planes. Did you notice anything unusual or suspicious during the flight? I've been watching the young fellow with the "hippie" t-shirt closely. He looks suspicious, the kind of guy that would smuggle illegal contraband. That marijuana t-shirt says it all. Where were you/what were you doing just before the man was found dead? I was actually in my seat looking at at a Sky Shop magazine. They've got the neatest things in those magazines, and I get 15% off. Do you recognize anyone on the plane? No, can't say that I do. What can you tell us about the flight? This is a great flight. You can fly between LA and Frankfurt in under nine hours. That's pretty good, but the tickets are a little pricey. Who do you suspect commited the murder? I've got my eye on that "hippie". Maybe it was a drug deal that turned sour. That sort of stuff is always happening. I need to call my girlfriend to let her know that this flight will be delayed. Do you have any more questions? All questions must be directed at one of the 10 suspects. The killer is NOT one of you, but rather one of the suspects. When questioning, I will answer questions in the order that they are asked and give a 2nd person a chance to ask any additional questions of the same suspect. Then I'll move to the next suspect. John Falklin is still answering and the next suspect will be the guy in the grey suit pictured with a suitcase in the SUSPECT picture.
  14. Captain Buzz is talking with you as Mitch the steward approaches from the aisle. Mitch states, "interesting indeed captain, our passenger list includes only eight persons and the Eurobrick group. All passengers are present and accounted for (and alive). It appears that the dead man may have been a stow away". You continue to question the captain: Have you ever lied? well, that's a silly question. Only to my wife on occasion. Can you tell me what type of knife was used to do the crime? I don't know too much about knives, but you may examine it. Has any identification of any sort been found upon the dead man? We may ask Mitch this question as he's the one that examined the body. Is there any possibility of suicide? I'm curious about that myself. Well, I think it's time I get back to flying this plane. Auto pilot is only good for so long, you know. Mitch, please provide me a report after you get the body and the passengers taken care of. Find out if the dead man has any identification and also, if there is any possibility of suicide. Share your finding with the Eurobrick group. They're here to help us.
  15. Well, as you may or may not be aware, I
  16. Anyone can participate and you can start by interrogating anyone you'd like.
  17. Erik: the cannon is pictured above but it is the one with the crossed cannon emblem. Also, it does not shoot (at least in the American version).
  18. There are 10 suspects in this murder. Each suspect may be interrogated only once to provide a statement. Each suspect will generally provide you with their background/profession, the reason they are flying to Los Angeles, and any other questions that you might ask. When the interrogation is over and/or you've asked too many questions, someone will say, "I think it's time to interrogate someone else". At any time, you may solve the mystery. After all 10 suspects are interrogated, you may have a chance to interrogate one idividual a second time before attempting to solve the mystery.
  19. Mitch the steward is making his way through the aisle with refreshments when Lost Viking gets out of his seat to go to the bathroom. Lost Viking sees something on the floor at the rear of the plane. It's a dead man who appears to have been stabbed. A knife is sticking out of his chest. Lost Viking runs back to his seat yelling, "there's been a murder"!
  20. It is a dark and stormy night. Flight 514, a private Lego jet with the identification LC7893 flies through a turbulent sky. On the plane are ten individuals who departed from Frankfurt en route to Los Angeles for reasons unknown, and your small group of Eurobrick friends. Captain Buzz Kennedy, a tall charismatic man from the United States captains the plane assisted by Steward Mitch Herrington, a stickler for prompt and professional service. Aboard the plane are a diverse group of passengers who you know little about. One of the passengers is an African American gentleman who appears to be in the medical profession. He wears a blue jacket with a black caduceus medical symbol patch. Two businessmen sitting across from each other toward the front of the plane read newspapers. Two younger men dressed in t-shirts sit a few rows behind them. They both wear dark sunglasses and seem to be listing to music. A young red-haired lady sits by herself as she pages through a fashion magazine. Also on the plane is young man with jeans, a red leather jacket, and a baseball cap; and lastly, an unshaven airline employee in a blue uniform and red cap sitting in the back. The plane shakes vigorously as lightning illuminates the night sky. Something evil is unfolding for one of the ten individuals aboard this plane hides a dark and sinister past. A murder will soon take place on Flight 514.
  21. I like the use of the multiple color roof pieces, and I agree with the originality of using the new "claw/tooth" piece. Gives it the "hanging tent" effect. Also, is that water inside? I like that too (good for the horses and to do that blacksmithing). The armor statues are a nice touch also. Very good MOC.
  22. Except for a good laugh.
  23. Interesting info Jonfett. I had never heard this before.
  24. ok, ok, maybe there's a little good in him... (let me go shoot myself now)
