  1. I just didn't put in on.
  2. I like the idea of a favorite "big set" poll spanning the minifig/system themes.
  3. Thanks BM. You know I like Legorado too, but Eldorado Fortress is definately a great set too (I don't have it either). I can't recall off hand which I voted for but it may have been Eldorado. Also check out the Favorite Bridges and Crossings Poll if you like this one. It crosses multiple themes as well (no pun intended).
  4. Brick Miner: this is one of the best Wild West (WW) MOCs I've seen. Most impressively, I love the way you displayed the MOC as a real set with actual WW box art. Colors: the brown and yellow pieces work well together. I like the combination of the yellow fence pieces and brown arches. Design: although I really like the brown arches, both floors have a very open/airy look to them, esp. the second floor. The use of some window shutter doors for saloon doors in the middle of the first floor would add a nice element of design and help close the front off a bit. I'd also maybe add some sides to the second floor to help close off the second floor. Very nice job on the sign in the fashion of the bank from Gold City Junction. I also like the double steps and two brick high (or 2 1/3 brick) foundation. I see why you did it with the trap seat/chair. The sign is excellent. Very nicely done. Figs: beautiful torso designs and use of the stickers. Scarlett and the Man in Black definately need to be added to the Wild West sets as regulars. I think I used the grey torso for one of my MOCs way back when. I love the joker card he's holding! Excellent detail. Overall: Very nice Brick Miner. I can see that you put a lot of time and detail in to this MOC and the final product is a beautiful WW set and (as mentioned by others) worthy of a real Lego WW set. I would buy for about $30 USD (similar in price to the Sheriff's Lockup). You did an excellent job on the stickers and the presentation is wonderful.
  5. Very nice Piglet. I'm most impressed with the overall size of the MOC. I like the way the ship holds a lot of cargo as well as numerous adventurers. Nice back section as well as the front. I esp. like the tan fence pieces. You did a very good job at building the balloon and nice use of the brown fence pieces to wrap around the balloon. This is really a well designed MOC and your photographs (sky) and detail really add to the overall quality. Great job! And welcome to Eurobricks.
  6. Great MOC. I would love to see Lego make a set like this too. I would most definately buy. The construction looks rather simple, but very effective.
  7. Now that's a Batcave! Great job Vader. I really like the numerous details (the dino, the hoist for croc's jet ski, and the Joker card to boot!) I would never have thought of using a playing card. This is really a great MOC and would be great displayed in a toy store showing the Batman vehicles. Very nice.
  8. It reminds me of a larger King Leo's castle but with some design similar to classic castle. Not exactly, but much closer than KK. Doesn't look bad at all.
  9. There's a total of seven contained in the set. Three for the penguins and four on the back of Penguin's sub (as part of the back rudders). No extra. I went to my local TRU yesterday and they had a large display of this set, the Sail Barge, and the Star Destroyer. I wasn't sure which set to buy, but to complete my Batman collection, I bought this. Now I want a Lego minifig case to store all the Batman figs. Oh, BTW, here's a shot of the stickers. One good thing is that they're not clear which makes them easier to scan and cut. I like to do this to keep the original sheet intact.
  10. The bottom of the gun tower is definately some sort of dock. Here's a shot of Mr. Freeze's back and those little penguins:
  11. I just picked up the Batcave today and although I see a previous image review, I thought I would post a second review with different images and my thoughts on the set. Batman The Batcave: The Penguin and Mr. Freeze's Invasion, set 7783 Piece Count: 1,075 Price in US Dollars: $89.99 Figs: 7 This set consists of seven different assemblies; four comprising the batcave, and three vehicles. - Control/central batcave structure - Batgun tower - Jail structure - Turnable bat sled platform - Bat sled - Penguin's submarine - Robins' jet ski (and three small armed penguins with just a few pieces each (I did not count as an assembly) First, a shot of the entire set (without stickers): The steps of the central/main control structure. The steps are held into place at the base and the top (although not completely tight): The control/bat computer level (probably the best part of the set). I'm not fond of stickers and the computer screen requires one large middle sticker and two smaller stickers on the sides. I'll probably scan first, print, then place the stickers on the set. The chairs turn 360 degrees. The sides of the computer screen turn slightly. And under the table with the glasses is a secret compartment were one can hide gunds, cuffs, and other bat assessories. Just another angle. I like the chairs the best: The gun tower on the left side of the main structure. Not much of interest other than the gun: And the batgun. The gun has three parts, including the large spring-loaded batgun (like on the batmobile), a chair for batman to sit on (that radar/light piece is not a sticker), and the middle section that contains a net that can be ejected by folding and pushing tight within the compartment, and pushing the back piece causing the net to shoot out. The jail section: This section was nicely designed. The back has a round section like a sewer or pipe leading out: A trap door on top opens by pulling a technic beam. Pushing it back in raises the trap door: On the top is also Batman's disguise chamber. It looks good, but I find that the hatches/doors are hard to open: The last section of the Batcave is the front platform for the batsled. What is nice is that it turns 360 degrees by turning the technique beam, but it does turn rather slow. On to the vehicles. The largest is the batsled. Interesting choice of vehicles, but I suppose all the others were separate sets. It's not too sturdy, but looks rather neat: Robin's jet ski, the smallest of the vehicles contained in this set. Nothing too exciting: My favorite of the vehicles in this set, Penguin's submarine: Both sides open to allow you to place Penguin in the sub. Inside is a periscope that does raise and lower, a gauge, and faucet piece: And the figs starting with the good guys: And the bad: Close up shot of Mr. Freeze- a very nice fig with freeze gun: The Penguin, among my favorites: And one of the best figs in the set, Robin. I've never been real fond of Robin but Lego did a very good job at designing this fig: Summary Pros - As with all the Batman sets, the figs are superb (esp. Penguin, Freeze, and Robin). - The set contains a number of mechanisms that add to the overall design of the set. The bat net gun moves up and down using a gear as well as the turnable vehicle platform. And I esp. like the trap door to the prison. - Very good playability with numerous vehicles, figs, and separate batcave sections. - Great assortment of unique pieces. Cons - This is a large set with over a thousand pieces. Having separate bags for each assembly would have made the build much more enjoyable and less timely. I found myself hunting for pieces to a point I was tired of building (the set probably took me around 3-4 hours to build) - and it doesn't seem like it would. - I hate the need to place the large stickers on the bat computer screens. No more stickers Lego! - Not too impressed with the bat sled. It's among my least favorite of the vehicles from all the Batman sets). It's flimsy. - I'm not real impressed with how the two side sections (gun tower and jail) attach to the central/main structure. They attach with a short catwalk/walkway that does not sturdily hold the sections together. - Almost one hundred US dollars which is pretty pricey. I hope this review helps if you're considering buying this set. I would probably buy again.
  12. You're right! Silly me. We're just razzing you Phes.
  13. Could you elaborate upon what "Auto Pirate Spam" is, Mr Brickster? That's when you look at any Pirate-related message and see that the last reply was by a certain "Phes". Generally, you can find the name on every message on a page, almost as if generated by an "auto-spam-generator". Actually though, I didn't make the term up, but rather someone else on this board (who i can't recall) several months ago. - but that's OK Phes, you keep the board alive and knowing that you'll at least respond is somewhat reassuring. I think the intent was to give Pirates it's own board since many of the frequest posters (esp. Phes) are Pirate fans. I won't get in to my other conspiracy theory which deals with mutiny and coercion.
  14. I'm back from not having phone service! OK now, yes, I noticed the new name. How exciting! Thanks to Phes, Jipay, and others who contributed to the name change. And Phes is right on, Wild West was left off the description, but I am glad the name was changed. And also, in regard to Phes's comment re. the number of posts (more in Pirates), it's quantity vs. quality, and we all know that Auto Pirate Spam is giving the pirates an unfair advantage, but History and Adventure will be the best forum! It feels good to be back. I have some catching up to do, esp. with Batman.
  15. Very nice DW. I like the use of the blue pieces. This would make a nice addition or sister to the Caribbean Clipper (but you'd have to make those pirates walk the plank). Nicely designed, esp. the mast and sails.
  16. If this is old news, please disregard: Lego SAH US has the the following Avatar and SpongeBob sets available for order now: Air Temple $29.99 Fire Nation Ship $49.99 Adventures in Bikini Bottom $39.99 Build-A-Bob $29.99 Krusty Krab $19.99
  17. Very nice SD. This is one of the best castle MOCs that I've seen in a long time. I love the tree, tower, and tunnel. The pictures in the grass really add to the forestmen look. No suggestions for improvement. It's easy to critisize when the MOC is a SEC "someone else's creation". Very nicely done with great detail!
  18. I really didn't think the basic Johnny Thunder would make it- but maybe one of his other costumes (like jungle would have scored higher). I particularly thought the OE heroes and villains were very nicely made, esp. the Indian figs and the Chinese guards. They had very nice detail. I've always been partial to the Barron/Sam Sinister as depicted in my avatar. I somewhat like the "bad guys". Other very nice figs include the mummy and Achu, esp. for rareness. oops, my bad. Others make a big issue out of going off topic, but I think it's just part of general discussion. Sooner or later, people go back to the topic at hand.
  19. Phoinix: this is the worst train set that Lego ever produced. The only good thing(s) about the set is that it came with a crossing and a lot of accessories + track and a transformer. I bought it as a gift and was very disappointed with it. It is definately not the "typical" Lego train set and I would recommend you save your $ on a train you can still buy from SAH. I think the passenger train (green/white) is still available and is a much better train set. The cargo train that is no longer available is esp. a good set (if you can find).
  20. I saw this a few months ago searching the web for Egyptian Desert and Mummy sets/MOCs. I don't remember ever seeing this in stores. I always like the imagery that Lego uses for these sets. I wish I could replicate the graphics. I'd make my own story books if I could.
  21. What do you think Phes? Often times, we have a poll, then never discuss the results. This thread is intended to bring the three polls together and discuss the results. Thanks Jipay. I think it is the Indiana Jones factor as well, and the Brandon Frasier factor too (star of the mummy). We definately need a new adventure movie in hope that Lego builds to the occasion. You can still take the pole Josh. The individual links are listed above.
  22. I'm moving. Yes, usually the more common the fig, the less popular.
  23. Nothing planned, but I'm sure I'll do more in the future- maybe even another theme. I just watched a moving truck haul away most of my household goods (including Lego), so I'll be away from my collection for a few months while everything is in storage. I plan to take my computer with me so I should be able to post in the interim.
