Well said Hobbes. Although it would have been nice to see a few more entries, my favorite came down to Jay's Metro City and SalvoBrick's town. I had a tough time deciding on which I like better. I love the trains and the skyscrapers in Jay's city. This is truly a city with a denser design and "metro" look. I really like the subway which adds to the overall look of a city. On the other hand, I find SalvoBrick's town very comforting. The buildings and the overall feel of the town reminds me of something out of an old European town, esp. with the Esso gas station. I also like the green/grey road plates which really add color. I see this town on a cover of a Lego idea book from the 80s. They are all very good, but my vote goes to SalvoBrick! Nicely done.

Minor changes. You did a good job. -

Very nice MOC Phes. I like the balcony and the classic red "Legorado-style" roof. Is the boat your own design or a mast/flag design from an actual Pirate set? Looks very good. I also think the large flag looks fine on this set and you did a nice job on the background. If this were an actual set, I would buy it. -
Pretty neat. I like how the black ninja climbs up the building and then back down. The change in music reminds me of something in an old Chuck Norris movie - "time for some woop-megablocks". I always admire the time people spend to make these short little fims. Nicely done.

I don't think every theme needs a ranking system, but one or two is fine and adds a bit of fun to seeing your avatar appear. I like the idea of having a few different flags/insignias appear based on maybe the top three themes that a person likes, if that's possible? (like the Classic Space emblem). It's fun.

Lego Adventurers Web Site

I agree with you Glyman. OE had a great story and I loved how all the sets tied in. I was not as impressed with KK but Lego at least did a story once again. I still would love to see Lego do some more Adventure. I was really hoping for a KingKong theme and even Pirates of the Caribbean. Avatar and SpongeBob were real "let-downs" for me with very limited story. I like BatMan but it needs more city sets and less vehicles. -
OK, five entries. Last call for your cities... Cities anyone?

Lego Adventurers Web Site

No reason, just thought I'd rotate some old pictures. Haven't done any new Batman MOCs lately. I only have two sets at the moment (Batcave and the New Bridge/Truck set). -
None of these are MOCs as the first message indicates; but rather a display of Legend sets. The castle on the right is the Guarded Inn. The building behind it is the Blacksmith Shop, and the castle on the left (mountain) is the Black Falcon Fortress. Also within the original display (not pictured) was the Caribbean Clipper. I always wanted to make a port scene and had purchased these sets as Legends. They're an example of how one can combine themes and also use non-Lego pieces/props to help display and highlight various sets. In addition, the entire display used mini lights that included lamps on the doc and strings of lights on both ships.

Jacob: an awesome MOC! Wonderful detail. I would never want to destroy a design as nice as this. I've always been fond of bridges, and most impressive are the towers attached to each side. Both are outstanding and I would love to see Lego produce a set like this with some classic castle figs. Very nice!

Megabloks Pyrates and Pirates of the Caribbean Sets
WesternOutlaw replied to Akkhraziel's topic in LEGO Pirates
Point Royal which I would say is a mid-sized set. I thought I had noticed more than this set, but after returning to the store a second time, this is the only set I saw. All I could say is Lego really blew it by not getting on this license. In fact, after looking at all the toys relating to this movie (action figures, scenes, games, etc.), I was very surprised becuase they all looked bad. Not a good line of toys at all. I've seen a lot better with other movies. This has to be one of the worst collection of toys I've seen in a long time (relating to a movie). -
Crocodile Adventure Sets
WesternOutlaw replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
The more I think about it, the more I realize that this is a hard pole. I am very much split between Pharaoh's Forbidden Ruins and Enchanted Island. I have neither set but both look like great sets. Enchanted Island appears to be the best of the Islander sets. The set has a great baseplate, catamaran, bridge, and a small pirate ship. These are all elements that make this a great set for playability and detail. On the other hand, Pharaoh's Forbidden Ruins is among my favorite Adventurer sub-theme, and I've always wanted this set. I love the truck and the set has some great elements. My vote goes to Forbidden Ruins but if I had two choices, I would definately pick both of these almost equally. I just wish I had purchased Enchanted Island as a Legend. Missed the set during both releases :-( -
Also, I like the newer green road plates a lot. My last train city had these. The green really helps bring out the color.

Crocodile Adventure Sets

I knew that Pharaoh's Forbidden Ruins contained two dark grey crocs; but silly me when I was doing the poll, I left it off. I left Pirates 4+ off intentionally. Can one of the mods add Pharaoh's Forbidden Ruins to the list though. Definately should be on the list. -
Within dangerous jungles, dark swamps, and forbidden islands, Lego crocodiles have infested the waters. They have eaten pirates, island natives, adventurers, and other fool-hearty figs. Vote for your favorite set and discuss why: (edited 6/20/06 to reflect Pharaoh's Forbidden Ruins)

Very nice SalvoBrick. I like the originality of your city. It really has a classic "hometown" look to it.

I would like an entire room with a huge glass case in the middle or high shelves to display just my classic collection.

So far, we only have four entries. Hobbes, how's yours coming along? Anyone else?

Megabloks Pyrates and Pirates of the Caribbean Sets
WesternOutlaw replied to Akkhraziel's topic in LEGO Pirates
If this old news to the pirate fans, please disregard. I don't post frequently to pirates. I was at my local TRU today and saw a large display of Pirates Of the Caribbean toys, and to my surprise, I saw none other than Mega Blocks. Mega Blocks has jumped on the license and have a series of Pirates of the Caribbean sets. Lego blew it again! In the Lego aisle was lots of SpongeBob, Avatar, and Exo-Force! -
GUNSLIGNERS SALOON wild west set #6758

I came across two other saloons that use the inward shudder construction (4 studs apart). It does have a gap, but when the doors are somewhat open, it doesn't look too bad: -

I like choice #1 the best BM. Even though the walkway is narrow, it looks the best. As another idea, would there be any way to use large green window shutters. I never tried attaching them to anything other than a window frame? Does such a piece exist? -
You guys are creating something that has not really been done before and it will probably be the largest Lego Pirate discussion board on the web (if not already). I'm always impressed to see creators/innovators bring their ideas to fruition. Great job!
