  1. The results from the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly Adventurer polls. Eurobrick members have spoken: - The Good: Johnny Thunder (Black pants, tan shirt), 6 out of 16 votes (35%), 15 choices. - The Bad: Rudo Villano, 5 out of 14 votes (36%), 16 choices. - The Ugly: a tie between the Yeti and Jun-Chi, 7 out of 17 votes (41%), 4 choices including "they all look like crap". Summary: I was a little surprised that classic Johnny Thunder is the most liked hero. He is the most abundant of any adventurer fig contained in approx. 21 sets. Someone mentioned that Rudo or Max Villano can be compared to an evil twin of Johnny Thunder. This is a comparison that I agree with. In fact, when I first purchased the small River Raft set (5902), I thought it contained another Johnny Thunder, just in different clothes. It wasn't until years later that I realized that the fig is Villano. Villano wears brown pants, a dark grey shirt (with two guns), and a black "down under" adventure hat as opposed to the brown hat worn by Johnny. And the most debatable of the polls, the Ugly. A few individuals stated that all these OE monsters "looked like crap" and one individual even compared them to baby chew tows. Well, they may not be the best, but I liked them for adding an element of fantasy to the Orient Expedition theme. The Yeti and Jun Chi tied at 41% (7 out of 17 votes each). 2. Oh! It appears I did. I meant "trunk". What am I typing? Now I know why you asked what you did. Excuse me- trunk.
  3. Old Brickster? Hey now! I'm not that old!
  4. I think some of you are being harsh with these "chew toys". I actually don't think they're all bad (crap according to some of you). I like the Yeti which I mentioned previously (although it is plain) and Tygurah has some neat colors (although a Tiger mold like Athos mentioned would have been better). Many voted for Jun-Chi which I'm not really fond of at all. Something about the face. Overall, I think these monsters did add an element of fantasy to Adventurers and the sets that included these monsters weren't bad at all. I like the collapsing bridge trap in Tygurah's Roar and the Yeti's Hideout was a nice starter set for the Mt. Everest sub-theme.
  5. In addition to the single palm (green leaf) piece which I think is hardly noticeable compared to having four palm sections, the trunk of the cheaper (inferior) tree is one piece. The better palms have sections that you can make taller or shorter including a separate base.
  6. Even if it is a cheaper piece (without multiple truck pieces), I still like it and wouldn't mind a few more.
  7. Looking forward to seeing some of your MOCs BM. I hadn't done that many over the years considering Wild West is among my favorite all time theme. I've got some links to images if you click my signature.
  8. Pretty nice. Neat use of the arches. This is what I was picturing.
  9. Definately no wampa, and the original does have horns. One can still use the yeti and pretend.
  10. I've only got a few palms (3-4). Even if it's a single piece, it's still better than no palm at all.
  11. One ship made from combining many of these boats. A larger sail would be needed though.
  12. The Yeti is my favorite. I also like the set he came with. He can also be used for a Wampa.
  13. Ya, I was disappointed with these too. I suppose its a cheaper way to make palms.
  14. I usually add at least an other category, but since there are only three, I did not. It also interests me to see how many others share your opinion, that's why I don't mind if the choice is added. I think the Golden Dragon would win hands-down, part of why I did not include with this selection.
  15. Go ahead and add the choice if you can Phes. Appears that you and Yoda agree on this one. No offense taken.
  16. I think they added an element of fantasy to the OE theme and made the sets a little more fun for children. The alternative would be technic or bionicle creatures which I'm not real fond of (like the Viking Wolf).
  17. I've got one, just don't use it often. - it's more a hinderance. I'll post a few additional images if I find a fairly good one.
  18. The Ugly Last of the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly polls: choose your favorite Adventure monster. I decided not to include dinos as these could be part of a completely different poll as well as the Gold Dragon from 7419 (Dragon Fortress) which may tie in with something better. Only three choices for this poll:
  19. This is a Brick Miner project Phes. Not sure where he's at or what the plan is. I think he was just going to use some of the names for his posters.
  20. I took about 4-5 shots of the port to capture all the sections, but when I went to put them together, they didn't come out very well (angles and shots didn't line up well). So to answer your question, I have a larger panoramic view, but it's not good. That's why I ended up embossing it. My single shots of the whole port didn't come out well either. My camera does better close-up shots than distant. Were you considering plugging it in to the Pirate Avatar Workshop to make it look better? If so, don't worry about it. The image isn't that good and I've already destroyed it.
  21. Norro: it would be awesome if you posted some self-made pictures of these great castle sets- like a pic review.
  22. What about the Outback? And Croc Dundee? Australian characters are cool!
  23. Looks like a neat layout Alex. Most of the layouts that I've seen are contained/included in Track Designer. The Lego Train Depot is a good train site that provides some 9V layouts. I had an interesting situation a few years ago when I wanted to build a layout on a table next to a file cabinet, then have it loop around my computer (desk) and return. I had the hardest time trying to get the layout to connect (close the loop). I was always a 1/2 section or a few studs off. Finally I got it to work. Just had to keep trying various ideas in Track Designer. Even with the program though, I think you still need to work with the actual track - and it's more fun. I was just doing some searches on the web and found this link: Michigan Lego Train Club. Appears they have a number of larger layouts in TDL that can be downloaded. Try searching "lego track designer tdl files" on the web. I'm sure you can find others. Good luck!
  24. I made it. I just searched the web one day for a site that lets you create your own test. This site/process was really easy.
  25. Yoda: just one question. Do you think this is a better model than the M-Falcon #2:
