  1. I was just getting ready to respond, this thread's over a year and a half old, why would anyone want to resurrect it. Then I read your response. Can't believe it, $1,000. The original is better than the set in white.
  2. Your new avatar makes me want to quote a line in a great Charles Bronson movie called Death Hunt. After seeing a young fresh mountie dressed in his best reds ride in to a small town in Alaskan/Canadian territory, saying good morning to everyone; one of the scurvy town outlaws responds by saying, "Good morning, General". Honestly though, I love it! Is it part of a new MOC you're building SN? I'd like to see more. You are an excellent MOC builder and I've enjoyed seeing many of the MOCs you've shared. You and 007 have a similar building style (at least in my opinion). You're both top-notch builders. It's never to late RiceCracker (interesting name) - although I keep wanting to type Rice Patty???
  3. That's why I said we should just call it a day and have another block party. Rub a little "Essence of Hink" on some of that cold pizza, tie it around the Walrus's neck, and send him out looking for his friend. Who knows what he might bring back... In the mean time: Minus Hinckley and Walrus Man.
  4. No, you're MOCs are very nice Pie Man. I'm never read your Pirate set reviews, but you've had some really nice MOCs. Yes, the Steven Spielberg of EB. Can't forget Axle movies.
  5. PART 2! PART 2! Chapter 2: Who took Hinckley X-O (or) Why Would We Want Him Back? :-D Can't wait for the next part.
  6. Sorry 'bout that EB. I was thinking of the theme. :-$
  7. Often times, I sit and think about abstact things (not necessarily Grave Stone or Haunted Ghost Towns), but fun and interesting things that I can contribute to Eurobricks (EB). Over the past few years, I've seen many members bring different talents, ideas, and great contributions that have made EB very fun to be part of. Here's just a few that I can think of in no particular order: Imperial Scouts & Stauder: Interviews (not Barbara Walters quality, but good none the less. ;-)) Hinckley: City Contests and Walrus-slapping, Tree House Climbing slap stick comedy). Myself: Murder Mysteries, Wild West reviews, Grave Stone (ok, I snuck that one in), the concept of a forum index, and the "Playmobil Perspective". ExoForceBuilder :-$ : EB comics. BrickMiner: the great graphic banners we see on many of the forums. - to name just a few. This got me thinking; ask yourself the following question: What do you bring to EB? You might be surprised to discover that your contributions have been numerous, or, are you just an occasional responder? Either way, everyone brings something unique to EB. What do you bring? - or what would you like to bring (no more pizzas) :-D .
  8. Shucks... I never had a mech built in my honor. Nice job though Zero. I'm not a big fan of space, and post very infrequently (almost never in this forum), but it looks worthy of being an Exo-Force set. I like the use of black with the silver drill bit and grey attachments. Great job!
  9. Oh, so I was, yes, I was... :-$ A fine party it was. Had a bit too much to drink, but a great party it was.
  10. Hmmm... Don't think I got an invite to that one laddy >:-( . And I was going to spring for the pizzas!
  11. I say we just write off our losses and have a block party! Or is everyone still out to sea on the Good Ship 007? Who's up for some pizzas? I think we have $100 left. That should get us at least two pies. :-D
  12. I forgot to mention the two pizzas that cost $100. That's pricey! Why might they have taken Hink? (ok, forget that question) Why was a map left on top of the Saturday paper? Where might an Indy map lead, perhaps Rick's Casablanca Club? Who's the Fiddler on the Roof? The naked guy with a cowboy hat (ok, forget that question to) Examine the details. It's all about the clues.
  13. If only this mystery was on a ship... OK, OK, never mind :-| .
  14. Interesting to say the least. I shall be patiently awaiting part 2 of this rather strange mystery. So, what do we know, and who are the suspects??? A mysterious Broke-Back Fiddler seen on the roof. A Pizza Hut delivery guy who delivers poison pizzas within 30 minutes. (ok, I just made up the 30 minutes thing). A mysterious Phez-like pirate who lurks in the shadows kills the pizza guy. Two rogue garbage men bandits abduct Hink (ok, that's not that strange :-D ). And lastly, a mysterious map is found in the Hink Headquarters. Perhaps it may lead to Grave Stone... :'-( Yes, a mystery is brewing... Early suspicions lead me to believe that the Walrus did it. ;-)
  15. My guess would have to be Snake Oil.
  16. OK, UNVOTE Piranha in that case. I was just getting my pistols warmed up :-$ .
  17. Sorry pardner. You're the only cowboy I recognize around these parts. And you never gave me my share of the loot - that'll cost you.
  18. That's a fun one! Thanks for sharing. On a side note, the cowboy looks like a neighbor I used to have. :-D
  19. Try eliminating one of your SF Chiefs and only have one with two motors. This will give the one unit more power. I'm really surprised that you're having trouble with four cars. Must be all the curves. EDIT: just a thought; how many pieces of track do you have in your layout? (also the number of switch track?) It could be an issue with not enough power moving through your track (vs. your train). From experience, the more switch track you have, the less track power.
  20. Darn! I read mystery and thought someone was hosting a space mystery. Neat contest though.
  21. I'm not sure I understand all the rules, but I'll go ahead an start (and learn while we play the game). I vote for Piranha to be lynched. He's got Outlaw written all over him. *pirate*
  22. I don't have any reversed falcon shields, but years ago, after puchasing 383: Knight's Joust , one of the shields in this set was reversed. I thought it was the strangest thing. After buying another copy of the set in the U.S., the 2nd shield was fine.
  23. Check out this expanded/Dwarves' Mine MOC that I found on MOC Pages. It's really slick. Moc Pages with Pictures As I look at it though, I can't help to think that it looks a little like my stacked Wild West mine from the Grave Stone collection: Share your thoughts. EDIT: I'm having trouble linking to the picture, but the MOC Pages Link does work. In addition, it appears that others have build some Castle-themed mines. This one appears to be a contest entry:
  24. My History with Playmobil and Playmobil Displays Glad you all enjoyed the images. I will update when larger images become available. I've always loved Playmobil, since staring at expensive toy store windows when I was a kid. Lego would often times have a single MOC displayed on an end-cap or special place in the store near the Lego aisle. But Playmobil always had the elaborate displays in the toy shop windows. I remember one such display of a pirate scene with this ship (a gift that I did get that Christams many years ago): And I still have this set in the garage. The plastic lasts forever (although a piece or two has snapped over the years). Playmobil Western Sets Now, I only buy a few sets and have purchased most of my Wild West town over Ebay (for hefty prices). They are among my favorite of the Playmobil sets. Here's a pic of a few of the sets, but I don't have it displayed right now. I'm in Lego Adventurer mode at the present time: Here's one of the newer Western Sets from last year: Wild West Mystery You can check out many of the western sets as part of a Playmobil Western Mystery I created last year. It's also kinda fun: Playmobil Western Mystery Romans I've just purchased a few pirate and castle sets in recent years, as well as a few of the new Roman sets. They're very nice. Here's some of them including Target exclusives: I think I will buy the new Egyptian sets when they become available next year. Questions You can find some on the first page of my WW Mystery (link above). Playmobil Construction & Customization Lastly, in regard to the construction element of Playmobil, the sets do use a System X and other construction systems that allow one to build different buildings (mainly with Castle, but other thems as well). People do build Playmobil MOCs as well as custom minifigs. It's not as elaborate as Lego, but some are quite impressive. Playmoboard has a monthly contest with Playmobil MOCs, displays, and images. Here's November's winner, an old western town: Some of the displays and scenes are very impressive and include custom Playmobil MOCs. Lego vs. Playmobil I'll share more images when available as some of you appear to be interested in Playmobil. I do admit that I have a number of collections in addition to Lego and Playmobil, but Lego is my 1st love, followed by Playmobil and Star Wars. I go through phases and break something out, put it away, then build something else (just like Lego themes). One day I do want to build a large train layout for Lego and Playmobil. I just don't have the space at the present time (and Playmobil is 3-5 times bigger, but excellent with G-scale trains). Enjoy.
  25. :-D I suppose it's based on the fact that Lego is German? - my only guess. What a great helmet though. You're welcome HB. I hope so to. I'm looking forward to these PM Egyptian sets. I'll probably buy when available next year. Germany get's them a year before the US. But then again, I'm always waiting for the return of the Wild West sets.
