Excellent idea. I thought of using these in a scene a while back. I've always loved these figs and their hats. In fact, I bought a 2nd Emperor's Ship for this reason (plus it's a great set). Here's an old image review: Emperor's Ship 7416 Review.

Jungle Adventure WIP

Definately - done! Thanks Hoang. Appreciate you checking it out. -
I like your scene Steve. The flower stems do work well. I added a number of them to my jungle as well. The waterfall is a nice addition as well. Make sure you check the jungle thread for updated pictures I keep adding. In any case, thanks for the tips.

Decoding Lego Hieroglyphics

Sounds neat. Please share an image or scan if you are able to find it. -
I apologize for having thought RicePatty was an Outlaw, but I really am a Bar Maid - promise. If you decide to hang me, it will be another mistake. - plus, you'll need an extra heavy rope :-$ . Oh, and QuarryMan, what did you say you do here in town?

Interesting observation. I can almost make out a bridge in the same corner.

The new sets aren't appearing on the US site yet.

I think so, but they are not really cheap. , esp. the larger sets.

Jungle Adventure WIP

Thanks for your feedback Asuka. I'm building to the scene, a little at a time. I added Amazon Crossing (6490) and another thin section of green plates in the front of the display so that the scene will look more like a river with banks on both sides. Here's a few new shots: I plan to add more. -
Great little MOC, but the foliage is a little light. I added a number of old trees, flowers, some green bricks, and a few more jungle-related items. Thanks everyone for all the great tips. I also ordered some pieces from PickABrick today. I'm looking forward to getting them.

You never know. Often times the Specials are a prelude of what comes next. I also like the Adventure Boat and new submarine theme.

Jungle Adventure WIP

Thank you all for the feedback. Incorporating some of the ideas from the Jungle Building Tips thread, I added some levels of bricks, my old spruce and cypress tree collection, and a number of flowers (both with and without the flower pieces). The result is this: Indy and friends making their way to the entrance to the cave: Crocodile infested river: I think the added foliage really helps as some of you mentioned. -
What did you say your name was? Oh that's right, the old man claiming to be a PROSPECTOR. Give it up old man, we all know you're really an Outlaw. You're just tryning to create a diversion tactic to lynch me. As you can see, others suspect you as well. Hang 'Em High!

Thank you all for the excellent ideas. I've posted some links from images I found on Brickshelf using the various ideas you've mentioned. These aren't hanging, but good pieces to use: Dino Jungle Scene I definately need more of the palm leaf pieces: A Few Palms I do have a few. I will definately try this idea. Excellent idea to add topgraphy. I may not have many green plates, but I do have some green bricks. I'll definately try this. Also, here's a shot of someone who used flowers. They do look good: Flowers in the Jungle The vine piece is excellent. I'll see if I have any, but I don't think I do. Vines Definately. Something along this line really makes a scene look jungle-like: Heavy Foliage Now here's a few great jungles/forests incorporating many of the ideas you've mentioned: Thanks for all your great suggestions. I'm going to get busy and see what I have available to add.

Once again, sorry about the double post, but I had to share this great PM Egyptian film for those of you who care to see some of the traps within the pyramid set. The film shots look a lot like the actual set (from pictures I've seen), so I think the pyramid will have many or all of the same features shown in the film. Playmobil Egyptian Film Here's a shot of the actual set from the PM web site:

I recently combined some adventure sets with Indiana Jones to arrive at this jungle diorama: Jungle Adventure. As I look at it, I want to expand it, but have very limited jungle pieces (including palms and green bricks). I was looking for some ideas that any of you may have used to build a good jungle scene (perhaps for Adventurers, Indiana Jones, Pirate Island, Ninja, Endor, etc.) As one idea for trees and foliage, I have many of the old spruce trees as well as some of the more rare cypress trees. What are your thoughts on using these classic Lego trees for jungle? Surprisingly, the Wild West bushes look pretty good. I would not have used, but one is contained in River Expedition that gave me the idea. What else might add to a jungle? Perhaps a small waterfall? Looking for some ideas???

Thanks General. Appreciate your feedback. I had to. It's a great set! and looks good jungle outfitted too. Yes, it's one of my top fav sets, and a great way for Indy to travel along the jungle river. I'm looking for a few more jungle sets that I may add. Thanks for the feedback BB. -
I repeat, I VOTE Wouwie13 for hang'n! He gathers nuggets for money but doesn't know what that's called. I think someone (HINT HINT) would have told him he's a prospector if he really was. Let's hang'em!

Jungle Adventure WIP "the jungle seems to be closing in on us..." 5/4/08: 3/23/08: 3/2/08: Crocodile Attack: Searching for the Hidden Temple: Jungle Shore: Wrecked Scorpion Tracker: Crashed Airplane: Official Sets Found Within this Jungle Scene Excellent Jungle Set Resource Indiana Jones 7620 Motorcycle Chase (some elements) 7622 Race for the Stolen Treasure 7623 Temple Escape Temple of the Crystal Skull 7625 River Chase 7626 Jungle Cutter 7627 Temple of the Crystal Skull Adventurers Jungle 5901 River Raft 5925 Pontoon Plane 5936 Spider's Secret 5976 River Expedition Adventurers Egypt 5918 Scorpion Tracker Adventurers Dino Island 5912 Mike's Swamp Boat Orient Expedition 7410 Jungle River x2 7411 Tygurah's Roar Jurassic Park III 7623 Spinosaurus Attack Outback 6444 Outback Airstrip (on green baseplate) 6490 Amazon Crossing (on green baseplates) Knights' Kingdom 8778 Border Ambush (bridge only) Deep in the African jungle lies a small port only accessable by air or by boat. Ruins stand in the distance with numerous traps to keep out foolish treasure seekers. Indy and his loyal friends journey upstream while others plot an adventure into the heart of the jungle to find the lost treasures. Starting with a small outpost and port using the Outback Airstrip: Indy's adventure boat (from River Expedition) makes its way upstream. The statue of Congo, the Ape God can be seen in the distance: A close-up of the sea plane: A close-up of the Congo statue: Another shot of the port: More jungle ruins: A close-up of Indy's river boat: Lastly, the whole jungle scene: I enjoy mixing like-themed sets (Jungle Adventure and Indy) as a great way to display official sets. Some of you may remember Port Adventure using desert sets, but i thought I'd try something similar with jungle in anticipation of the next Indy line-up. Comments welcome.

Pollster X-D (I think that was one of my titles for a while).

If I were to say, "I Like *wub* ", would that be wrong? :-D

Right back at you partner! What did you say you do here in town? I highly suspect anyone who comes to a new town and doesn't share anything about himself. Is there something you're hiding UT? Now are you gonna just stand here all day talking, or are you going to do something?

Thank goodness! After this is over, I'll be the one that really gets hung - by a mob of angry EB members >:-( . Thanks for playing along. ;-)
