  1. But where's the "rubber-duckie playfloatability factor" in that? :-D Yes, actually I like both as well, but I'm a little more partial to a high "Floatability Factor".
  2. Gotcha. Thanks for sharing your views. And no offense taken. My collection pretty much stays in boxes after a display for a week or two. I get bored with them and hate to see them collecting dust.
  3. Thanks BB. At least someone finds this stuff light and fun. People seem to be a little too serious lately. Sinner: I'm sure there's a few Europeans who have eaten Oreo cookies. But again, this is just meant to be fun if not. OK, Im going over to the "Western Mafia - Day 2" lynching thread now to try my luck. You guys are killing me here X-D . PS. I'm a 10 as well. I've never liked Oreo's, unless you count throwing them in the blender as part of a milk shake. Now that's a great way to enjoy Oreo's *wub* .
  4. Interesting thoughts, but what do you mean "newfound love". Are you a new Lego builder/collector (or) perhaps just new to building MOCs?
  5. I'm not asking you this question directly BM. It's just a humorous survey. - at least it was meant to be.
  6. Boy, you guys sure are a barrel of laughs :-( . Come on now, this is just a silly little test. - and I thought I was the serious one around these parts.
  7. I sit here many evenings typing away on EB and/or other forums; and as I do so, I sometimes think, I could be building, but this is more fun. Considering your time on EB, does this detract you from building excellent MOCs or building in general. I would say that it does me, but I should also point out that I enjoy the computer time , esp. EB. What are your thoughts on this subject? Do you spend too much time on the computer? Or) How do you balance your computer vs. Lego building time? I'd be interested in hearing what different EB members feel re. this topic.
  8. Some of you may have seen this before. It's been out a few years, but worth sharing. By answering the following Oreo test, the answer will tell you what kind of personality you have. It's just a fun little thing to do that I thought I would share. First, read the following and choose which method best describes your favorite method of eating Oreo's: 1. The whole thing all at once. 2. One bite at a time 3. Slow and methodical nibbles examining the results of each bite afterwards. 4. In little feverous nibbles. 5. Dunked in some liquid (milk, coffee...). 6. Twisted apart, the inside, then the cookie. 7. Twisted apart, the inside, and toss the cookie. 8. Just the cookie, not the inside. 9. I just like to lick them, not eat them. 10. I don't have a favorite way because I don't like Oreo's. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Personality: DO NOT READ BEFORE SELECTING AN OPTION ABOVE 1. The whole thing: This means you consume life with abandon, you are fun to be with, exciting, carefree with some hint of recklessness. You are totally irresponsible. No one should trust you with their children. 2. One bite at a time: You are lucky to be one of the 5.4 billion other people who eat their Oreo's this very same way. Just like them, you lack imagination, butthat's ok, not to worry, you're normal. 3. Slow and Methodical. You follow the rules. You're very tidy and orderly. You're very meticulous in every detail with every thing you do to the point of being anal retentive and irritating to others. Stay out of the fast lane if you're only going to go the speed limit 4. Feverous Nibbles. Your boss likes you because you get your work done quickly. You always have a million things to do and never enough time to do them. Mental break downs and suicides run in your family. Valium and Ritalin would do you good. 5. Dunked. Every one likes you because you are always up beat. You like to sugar coat unpleasant experiences and rationalize bad situations into good ones. You are in total denial about the shambles you call a life. You have a propensity towards narcotic addiction. 6. Twisted apart, the inside, and then the cookie. You have a highly curious nature. You take pleasure in breaking things apart to find out how they work, though not always able to put them back together, so you destroy all the evidence of your activities. You deny your involvement when things go wrong. You are a compulsive liar and exhibit deviant, if not criminal, behavior. 7. Twisted apart, the inside, and then toss the cookie. You are good at business and take risk that pay off. You take what you want and throw the rest away. you are greedy, selfish, mean, and lack feelings for others. You should be ashamed of yourself. But that's ok, you don't care, you got yours. 8. Just the cookie, not the inside. You enjoy pain. 9. I just like to lick them, not eat them. Stay away from small furry animals and seek professional medical help - immediately. 10. I don't have a favorite way, I don't like Oreo cookies. You probably come from a rich family, and like to wear nice things, and go to up-scalerestaurants. You are particular and fussy about the things you buy, own, and wear. Things have to be just right. You like to be pampered. You are a prima dona. There's just no pleasing you.
  9. Strangely, it appears that more of you are saying Crab Crusher, yet the voting/poll shows the opposite. I suppose we have a number of voters who have not responded. I own the Crab Crusher, but not Ocean Odyssey (OO). In looking at OO, it reminds me of a Universal/Basic set that I had when I was a kid. I used to build submarines with the pieces and play with in the pool. This was the set: It looks like OO has some great pieces that allow one to build a few alternates. This is a real plus. I'm wondering if Crab Crusher has the same attribute.
  10. I didn't think so. I own the set, but have it somewhere in the garage.
  11. How could you Sne? I think this is better than that. I actually liked the Outback theme (perhaps it reminds me a little of WW - at least this set). And I actually like the windmill piece. It is a large piece, but it makes for a good windmill.
  12. That's called a prospector; a term a real PROSPECTOR would know. Ring... Ring... Telephone call for Wouwie13. It's the lynch mob! They think that any man who looks for gold for money should know that's called a PROSPECTOR. They think you're an outlaw and want you hung! *skull* OK, I VOTE Wouwie13 for hang'n!
  13. Chris: These are the stories that I really enjoy hearing. *y* The real fun with great sets like this is in the imagination that people like you bring to the set. Reminds me of my "fun times" with Lego, before I got boring and just started displaying my collection. I saw a picture of this set a year or two ago. What a great set! Makes me want to go river rafting X-O !
  14. I'm not that brilliant. :'-) Did you say Gunsmith? Now there's a perfect disguise. Why else would you be carrying those guns? ;-) You've got OUTLAW written all over you.
  15. I'll have to go with Crab Crusher because it's mini-fig scale. I still like the Explorer sub though. It has more of a "classic yellow submarine look". I do like the playability aspects of the Crab Crusher better though, but lego could keep their crab(s). :-D
  16. Like I'd make this up :-| . I think it is you who hides beneath a mask of deception. And what is it that you do here in Legorado, P? Don't fall for it guys. I am really a bar maid, just like RicePatty claimed to be the Deputy. I'll swear on the bloomers under my chaps :-$ . Don't make this into a witch hunt! :'-( I propose we find out what everyone does here in town. Perhaps we can gather who is lying and who is not. Anyone care for a song?
  17. Eurobricks Face-Off #3 takes us deep under the sea in another exciting challenge between two of Lego's most spectacular submarines. Down Periscope! Down Periscope! We're diving... Blup... Blup... Blup... Below 20,000 leagues, we find ourselves peering out of a water-tight port hole at our opposing submarines. The first (pictured on the port/left side) is the Underwater Exploration vessel (aka Ocean Odyssey). Vitals: Ocean Odyssey Set # 4888 Theme: Make & Create/Designer Set Pieces: 623 Year Released: 2005 Price: $40 USD Our challenger (pictured on the starboard/right side, the infamous Crab Crusher. It's vitals: Crab Crusher Set #7774 Theme: Aqua Raiders Pieces: 590 Year Released: 2007 Price: $50 (USD) Captain: the enemy has launched their torpedo! Defensive maneuvers! I repeat, defensive maneuvers! In a face-off between these two water-tight craft, which submarine set is your favorite?
  18. So which one did you vote for and why?
  19. Let me clear the air. I am the bartender (actually bar maid). I keep my alias, Miss Molly Brown, hidden to most :-$ , but since you boys are suspecting me of being an outlaw, I must confess. Yes, I admit to being responsible for the hang'n of an innocent man, but I did it unknowingly. In fact, I really thought RicePatty was someone who we should all fear. I had no idea that he kept his badge hidden. In fact, why would and respectable deputy sheriff hide his badge? In any case, I had a hunch that RicePatty was hiding his face for a good reason. Sorry 'bout that. If you're still suspecting me, would I make a "bar maid story" up? :-| I'm not the man woman you're looking for. X-D . In fact, my suspicions are now aimed at Fish Face, ya, you boys know him as Piranha. What kinda cowboy calls himself Piranha? Something smells fishy about him 8-| . - Molly Brown, Bar Maid
  20. I've been wanting to share a picture review of the Outback Airstrip (6444) for some time now, and finally decided to snap some shots. First, let me say that this little set is one of my all-time favorites becuase it can be used to sumplement a number of different themes. 1) the set makes a great little adventure airstrip for Adventurers and more recent, the Indiana Jones theme (see also German Headquarters and Port Adventure). I've also used the set as an addition to my Wild West town. The tan baseplate and windmill works great, just subtract the plane, modern equipment, and figs. And lastly, as the set was intended, as an Outback/desert airstrip. Set Description: Outback Airstrip Set # 6444 Pieces: 157 Release Date: 1997 Original Price: $20 (USD) Starting with the box: And the backside. Notice the alternate models. I love the swamp boat: The building is my favorite part of the set. It is simple, has a little detail, two great roof pieces, and a single green window (great piece!): Check out the great windmill piece. It's my only one and makes a great part for Wild West and that farm you always wanted to build. I used it for the Barnhouse of Barnabas Higgens and Spring Valley Ranch On the side of the building is a great radio and a clear glass: Unfortunately, no furniture can be found within the building: And now the airplane: Front view; I love the twin propellors: Side view: And the rear section: The back has a small cargo hold for some boxes/freight or some gear needed in the Outback: The set includes three figs, two with cool shades: And some great equipment. I love the boom box: A shot of the whole set: And another: Summary: As I mentioned above, this set is very versatile and can suplement a few different themes. It's my personal favorite of the Outback collection and I'm really glad I was able to find the set in the late 90s (I almost didn't buy). Sets like this are timeless and so much fun to build and display. Hope you enjoy the review.
  21. I think one of the greatest disappointments with new sets is that few provide alternative pictures on the back of boxes. As a kid, we always tried building the alternates on the back. It's nice to see someone taking the limited pieces within a set, and building something good. Nice job Hollisbrick! *y*
  22. Which boats are these?
  23. Dr. S: I was not planning on buying this set after my disappointment with the other large airplane, but after looking at this image review, I just might buy. The green color is really the aspect that makes this airplane stand out. I think it looks great! Thanks for the review.
  24. I like the cars, esp. the one that looks like an old T-Bird with the fins. I also like the old fashion garage, esp. the pumps and sliding garage door. Features like these are great elements for the Town Plan.
