What do you get when you cross 10193 Medieval Market with 10199 Winter Toy Shop? The answer is this "shmelted" Town creation by Svelte. Check out the 10193 / 10199 mash-Up here.

Very nice! Love that roof - and the alternate model looks fantastic as well. Blogged on Classic Town! Thanks for sharing FM.

That's what I was referring to. I think you need to give Train Tech a chance. Your contest entry was one of so many, most of which only received a few comments due to the great volume. I think TheOtters summed it up quite well. You're a fantastic builder that we all admire. At the same time, you might find that as others get to know you through your participation on different threads, others will recognize you and comment on your creations.

I'm sorry you feel that way Tony, esp. after trying to acknowledge your talent. When I first saw your post, I thought these were new locomotives; thus asking for details. I then realized these were the ones you've already created (editing my post). In fact, American locomotives are some of my personal favorites - I appreciate these vintage steamers. I'm a bit taken back by the harshness of your message after responding in what I thought was a positive manner. While I try to make sure all posts here on EB get a response, I didn't think that yours were being neglected. In fact, I think that I've indexed each and every one.

CITY: Extremely random photos from Lego City!

Make sure you check out Classic-Town. -
This "top notch" entry was entered within the contest deadline, and built to contest rules. Let's focus on acknowledging the quality of the MOC and great details.

Very nice S. It's a very interesting design that I have not seen before in LEGO. The body looks fantastic, as well as the railing on the front-end. Nice job on this, and great colors!
-
Tony: you truly are a master of these old steam engines. I especially like how you rendered your set of top notch locos based on the photo. Great front ends! Do we get to see some of the fine details? EDIT: oh, strike that last question - I'm looking at them now on MOCpages.

Captain Zuloo and pe668's Great Steam Train Journey
WesternOutlaw replied to Captain Zuloo's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Fantastic Z! What a great train trip, with some outstanding photos. Thanks for sharing your railway journey with us. I'm most impressed with how the train has been so well kept or restored. Everything looks so neat and clean, even the beautiful countryside. Very nice! EDIT: on an unrelated note, I had an old friend in highschool that had a few friends who kidnapped a fellow student's Gumby. I faintly remember hearing about how they wrote a randsom note and pictured Gumby in different parts of the city. EDIT ONCE MORE: I think this deserves special mention. Great pictures! -
Definately needs to be expanded to LEGO SAH, where many of us who don't have LEGO stores make they're purchases.

Very nice review In, with some very good photos. I must say that I had not intended to buy any of the modulars, but after picking up this set, I was hooked. While the Green Grocer has great interior additions, I like the outer design on this set a lot, as well as the colors. A+ set, and the LEGO designer should definately be applauded for this design and concept. - review indexed -

Great pictures AI! I enjoy looking at these. Thanks for sharing (although your tracks look like they may wreck a train any time soon). -

I will be showing each brick on Classic-Town. The first one is already pictured. It is a Duplo brick. There will be four that stack to make a picture. In regard to the sale prices, the 15% does NOT apply to sets reduced by 30% (unless as mentioned above, by exception). I still think it's a good promo (the sale, bricks, and other activities).

Thanks BC. No, I have not - but that's a neat idea.

Great review Emilec. Thanks for sharing. It's great to see you comparing this set to the new City Corner set, very creative to have done so in fact. I think this deserves a BLOG! The 80s were definately a fine time for LEGO Town/City.

Thanks for the feedback guys! For a while there, I didn't think anyone was going to respond to this little vignette. The creation was inspired from this scuplture, that I was very happy to find in Disney: And this is what the real thing looks like (in LEGO that is): Overall, I think the MOC is just okay. The brick walls need overhauling and I'd like to open the backside up (at least in one of the walls and perhaps hang a skeleton or create a secret compartment). I had trouble finding minifigs for the ghosts and ended up with those pictured. The middle ghost is actually meant to be the Hatbox Ghost which is a different character completely (for those of you who who are familiar with the Haunted Mansion. Here's a shot of him, from a Disney artist known as Shag: Some of you may also recognize a similar fig known as the Card Creeper in my Grave Stone story: In any case, thanks again for the feedback. This one still needs work, but I suppose it's a good creation to kick off some Halloween fun.

It was a hard pick, for me as well. The entries are all fantastic, and each so unique in their own way.

I paid full price and absolutely love the set. Original price is high, but it's a great set. The cows, the tractor, the red-roofed barn, working grain silo - packed with fun things. You can check out the review HERE. I would definately buy on sale. Plus, with the pig pen set coming out - it's a must have.

I had the privilege of visiting Disneyland California a few weeks ago and was lucky enough to pick up a few collectibles of the Haunted Mansion, which is celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year. One of the pieces was a sculpture of the Hitchhiking Ghosts that appear towards the end of the ride. I got busy today, breaking out a number of LEGO sets from the garage to build this creation in honor of the 40th Anniversary (the Haunted House has always been one of my favorite rides). While the ghosts aren't the best, I tried to make each unique in their own way. The lights do work, and the Haunted Mansion logo is a custom decal that is inset by two sideways 1x1x6 arches - although almost impossible to see in the photo due to the dark light. I'll share some more pictures tomorrow, but here's the creation which took me most of the day:

Take a look at this "Big Boy": This is great miniland sized creation by the Brickbaron, a 1912 Shay Logging Locomotive. I blogged it earlier today on Classic Town, but I was wondering how many of you trains fans have attempted to build this scale in trains? I'm really admiring the potential for details with a MOC this size. Here's a link to this fine locomotive: Brickshelf Link

REMINDER! Train Tech Building Contest
WesternOutlaw replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Train Tech
One at a time. Rather than state a date/duration for each, I'm going to see when voting slows down, then announce the final day. Category 2 will be next, followed by Cat1.
