LEGO Star Wars 2018 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!
Azani replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I've received word of the winter 2019 wave of kits, as detailed by the prolific @Falconfan1414 over in the "Future Star Wars Sets" thread. Here's the list: 75223 - Unknown SW Microfighter "Classic" - $9.99 US 75224 - Unknown SW Microfighter "Classic" - $9.99 US 75225 - Elite Praetorian Guards Battle Pack - $14.99 US 75226 - Clone Troopers Battle Pack - $14.99 US 75227 - Unknown SW Microfighter Dual Pack "Classic" - $19.99 US 75228 - Unknown SW Microfighter Dual Pack "Classic" - $19.99 US 75229 - "Great Vehicle" Escape - $29.99 US 75233 - Droid Gunship - $49.99 US 75234 - AT-AP - $59.99 US 75235 - Juniors™ X-Wing Starfighter - $29.99 US 75236 - Juniors™ Slave I - $19.99 US 75237 - Juniors™ TIE Fighter - $19.99 US 75247 - Juniors™ A-Wing Starfighter - $14.99 US It's been spread everywhere over the past few hours - it looks like Terrasher already came across it. All of that list is 100% accurate, so yes, microfighters are coming back. (Especially because they never really went away?) -
Ah, well, 75970 is confirmed to be coming, but it's true that we don't yet know the retail price. It will be the cheapest of the four, yes.
-
I would assume that any theoretical 75974 would be the most expensive set of the bunch... hypothetically speaking, if it exists. We know that 75970-75973 exist, so that's four sets right there.

No, yeah, I definitely remember that they were running the teases on their respective social media platforms around the weight, size, and such - I'm just wondering if the reveal on Force Friday is typical, or if the Falcon was revealed earlier than usual due to it's expected (and actual) performance. It seems like September would be a fair time to unveil 75222, but we already know the box size and weight, so you'd hope that they'd jump straight to the full press release. :P -

It's been a month or so since the Cloud Car Pilot was listed, but hopefully some news comes soon, yeah. Was 75192 announced relatively early, or was the September 1st reveal fairly typical for mainline UCS sets that are expected to make a big splash? -

That list happens to come from 4chan.org, as far as I could tell - ignore it entirely. None of it is real, or based in part on any real unreleased kits. I doubt that we'll see leaked descriptions regarding/run into prices on upcoming Star Wars kits for a while, as such information is typically well-guarded by retailers and their associates. In this case, the singular and particular source that yielded information on Overwatch and Ninjago kits has been exhausted, and no Star Wars info has materialized from any piece of it. It's within TLG's power to control the flow of leaked information for a few more months if they see fit, and I suspect that they will. We will be seeing at least twelve sets, based on what I've seen, but I wouldn't know if material for TLJ, Solo, Resistance, or TCW is scheduled; all that I've seen is set numbers, so the conent of said kits is still a mystery to me. Any clone-focused sets are not readily identifiable, and because I don't yet have prices either, I can't say much on that. Later tonight, I could look at the packaging sizes and see if I can sift through any sort of pattern. No, we haven't seen Wizarding World/Harry Potter information yet, as we're still in August - I have no idea as to why anyone would think that we had. It's best to keep speculating and be as patient as our love for the theme allows; we'll make it through to September or October shortly. I'd be confident that we'll see something by then - for now, I don't see much use in sharing the set numbers that I have, as we can extrapolate those pretty easily. It's unfortunate that the SW is list is easily disproved upon further reflection, but I don't think that we had a concrete list last August - maybe info on one or two sets from SvL. -
Mickey and Minnie are both on Amazon.com over in the US; here's Mickey, and here's Minnie.

Star Wars Constraction 2018 Discussion & Rumors
Azani replied to VBBN's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Thanks for posting these; I still haven't yet decided if I want to go ahead and pick up 75537 Maul or not, but I'm currently still holding out hope of modding his elbows into something decently presentable whilst still maintaining the uniqueness of his gear function, and I'm thinking that I'll take a chance on that. 75536 Range Trooper is stellar. Theoretically, it's a possibility that might still come around, but I can't see TLG reversing a decision to cancel a kit due to fan reception, and I don't know if it's too late to reverse the process and bring 75538 and 75539 to consumers as originally planned. It might be that they've been scrapped once and thus "scrapped for good", but I will say that I sincerely hope that that is not the case. The strongest reason for pulling them back and releasing the two figures is the revival of TCW, but it's worth noting that it's usually only system kits that benefit from these sorts of media tie-ins, as evidenced by the anecdotal reports that system sets that tied in with TFA and TLJ have sold significantly better than the respective constraction kits. That said, there's a big difference between what we see anecdotally and what TLG sees as a corporate entity on the back end, and so it's possible that they have more faith in the benefit of a TCW revival than we do. The real issue is whether or not there is a market for constraction as a whole, and while I have no idea as to what 2019 will bring, it's abundantly clear that 2018 has been very discouraging. I've noticed that, and I'd hope that the correlation there is implicitly tied to something more than Google's latency in picking up sites that had previously listed the sets, before they were canceled. I have the UPC codes as well, and I haven't seen anything so far with regards to the NA side of things, but there's nothing more to suggest that they've been canceled or indefinitely put off; if anything, now, it's starting to look as though the could be coming out next year. We know that they were originally due out in August, so they're definitely not coming out now, but it's tough to tell what the future could look like. -
Man, this is fantastic work! I do feel like the shoulders taper into the upper arms at a bit of a steep angle, but the torso and hips - essentially everything from the chest down - works especially well. The feet are a little small, though; might be something to think about.

There are no images, and we can't link to them if they ever appear/ begin to exist. It'll be 80 GBP and $89.99 US. I don't know what it's looking like on the EUR front, but I would suspect that a number around 89.99 is likely your best bet. -
Nope; when you read my post that informed you that it would be a FB kit, I must have missed adding in the bit about it being $19.99. :P It's another human. It's not a young Dumbledore, but outside of that, I don't know for certain as to who else it could be. My bet is on Grindelwald.
-
Links of interest: 41627 Luke Skywalker & Master Yoda 41628 Princess Leia Organa 41629 Boba Fett 41632 is the last Brickheadz set for 2018, not counting 40272-40275 (WItch, Turkey, Mr. Claus, and Mrs. Claus). It is a Homer Simpson & Krusty the Clown dual pack - exclusive to Walmart in the USA. Should be a solid option - I can certainly (or, at the very least, realistically) see it hopping off of shelves for TLG. It's a November release. :)
-
Yeah, no, that's a good question. I can tell you that it'll definitely be available via LEGO direct (brand stores & Shop@Home), but what I know for sure about these mostly extends through the US and Canada; it'll still be sold at TRU in Canada/everywhere in the EU except for the UK (and Germany - missed that one, sorry!). I believe that it will get picked up by a differing US retailer such as Walmart or Target, but as far as I can tell, the only guarantee for stateside folks, the most legitimate means of getting ahold of these involves expecting/accepting that it will be available as a D2C. 41610 Batman & Superman seems to have gone the same way. I don't know where you're at, but the short answer is that yeah, it should definitely be available via LEGo themselves - at least.
-
Nice try. It is in Canada, Hong Kong, the EU - everywhere except for the US and the UK. Regardless, of course, I know what it is and where it will be, so you're obviously good to ask, but yeah, it's still at TRU in 95% of the countries that have ever hosted a TRU.
-
As it is, yeah, we're looking at August for 41622-41625. No need to guess here. Bingo. TLG would never unveil October kits before June. :P July 41615-41621 August 41622-41625 October 41626-41630 November 41631-41632
-
Yeah, no, I was thinking of that; it certainly seems realistic to view that as a likely outlet for sets here, especially if we consider CCBS's track record and the dynamics/visual style of Overwatch. It's not a guarantee off of how well SW has been selling (or lack thereof), but I'd suspect that TLG's next CCBS venture could easily be this; that said, I'd assume that we're getting SYSTEM sets on top of any CCBS/Brickheadz that we might see in the first few waves. And, of course, this is all contingent on how well Overwatch sets would perform, but it doesn't seem too unlikely, just off of the nature of the source material, to guess that we'd see all three. ...Because you can make realistic looking figures with CCBS... and you can't with Brickheadz. Nope. Buildable figures - like, not Star Wars. Lol. I'm not sure what you're trying to get at. because TLG has been making buildable figures for 20 years, and so they've probably been around for a heck of a lot longer than you've been buying sets. Nothing was canceled "halfway through the year", because we've had SW CCBS for 3 years now - at least, if we're assuming that we've seen the final wave. Heck, it shouldn't be too hard to prove your point if you're not a fan of buildable figures. :P
-
I would ignore that, as well, as everything else that they have, with aplomb, ever claimed. That being said, it certainly isn't unrealistic to assume that we'll be seeing these contemporaneously with me in the release of whatever TLG's "evergreen" lineup for the Winter will be; in practice, TLG will do their best to stagger these. I guarantee that those folks are making things up, insofar as Overwatch is concerned.

Thanks for posting that over here for me. If you don't mind, I'd appreciate if you try to avoid cutting out my username; if you can't, then don't worry about it. :) :P Aha, well, would you feel better if I told you that I typed that up? It's all true, and it's all finalized. And for the record, I triple-checked, and the spelling of the name from "Cloud Rider Swoop Bikes" is "Weazel". Additionally, there are multiple Dryden guards/tugs/whatever; at least two are included in 75219. -
Have you seen Boba Fett? I'd love to see it. Note that this is not even close to the SDCC exclusive kit that we've caught reviews and such for online; off the top of my head, 1-3 folks outside of LEGO/the retail business have seen that kit - it might be online, but I'd be surprised.
-
Isn't it worse? :P Foir what it's worth, nah, I don't believe that the CMF figure is real, if only to jump off of the odd width of the right hand; it's possible that it's a "reject" or a mis-mold, but I wouldn't bet on it. We'll need to wait and see.

Just jumping in here to say that I heard from a reliable fellow that 76095 is an Aquaman set, and that it is the Target counterpart of sorts to the Walmart deal with Ant-Man 2 for this year. It is 235 pieces and $29.99 here in the US. Very excited; Black Manta looks superb. If this isn't the right topic; then I apologize; this seemed to be it, but I'm used to the SW side of the forum.
-
Looks to me as though 41631 is a tightly guarded set for Crimes of Grindelwald; it's Newt and another full size character (as a quick example, it's not like Hedwig), but I didn't catch which. We're looking at $19.99 in the US and 247 pieces; two more than 41621 Ron & Dumbledore. It will be exclusive to Target in the US. Quick list that I have on hand: 41615 Harry Potter™ & Hedwig™, $14.99 US (LEGO Announced) 41616 Hermione Granger™ $9.99 US (LEGO Announced) 41617 Elsa $9.99 US 41618 Anna & Olaf, $14.99 US 41619 Darth Vader™, $9.99 US 41620 Stormtrooper, $9.99 US 41612 Steve & Creeper, $19.99 US (Target Exclusive?) 41621 Ron Weasley™ & Albus Dumbledore™, $19.99 US (Target Exclusive) (LEGO Announced) 41622 Peter Venkman & Slimer, $19.99 US (Unknown Exclusive) (LEGO Announced) 41623 [Differing Unknown IP], $19.99 US (TRU Exclusive?) 41624 Mickey Mouse, $9.99 US 41625 Minnie Mouse, $9.99 US 41626 Groot & Rocket Raccoon, $14.99 US 41627 Luke Skywalker & Yoda, $14.99 US 41628 Princess Leia Organa™, $9.99 US 41629 Boba Fett™, $9.99 US 41630 [Jack Skellington & Sally], $19.99 US 41631 [The Crimes of Grindelwald Dualpack (Newt Scamander & ???)], $19.99 US (Target Exclusive) I made the blue "Wizarding World"; the turquoise is Frozen, the red is Star Wars, the urple is Mickey & Minnie, and the orange is everything else. Hope that helps. :)

Did we have a set release date for the final reveal/release of 75951 & 75952 I'm aware that we saw a photo/direct press release for 75951, but I don't remember hearing if the release date for both is August 1 like 75950, 75953-7596, etc. Some toys for Fantastic Beasts - Crimes of Grindelwald, including the Brickheadz, will be released on November 1 with a hard street date; I am not sure if 75952 is like that or not. Maybe @Sir von Lego would know; that said, he's certainly free to just ignore this if he's busy/would rather not say.

No, of course not; lmao, dude, are you serious? That's a ridiculous thing to say, and it's a little rude toward TLG. Here's the image that everyone's referring to. It's not a leak, so there's no reason to keep it off the forum. :P

No, exactly; it's tough to get right, but man, they must have been a little bit sloppy on the chin and cheeks, with respect to the eyes. The torso, however, is fantastic. I'm tossing out a guess that it'll be in that crazy 89.99 Conveyex Heist kit, but that's just a guess; no guarantees. If i say something too casually, I can be held to it later; the community here is good about that. :) Yeah, that custom has been around for a little over a year, actually... a fellow by the name of ForceGhost Solo made it. No joke. As far as Beckett from 75217 goes, it's visible on the relevant subreddit. :P If you're looking in the right place, it should be on Instagram as well; PM me if you need accounts to look for; if I'm not allowed to do that, I expect that someone will likely tell me. Apologies if so. -Azani
