A huge thank you to CopMike and Eurobricks for all the hard work and for going far beyond what anyone could expect with this years incredible generous raffle.
-
First of all I have always giving high praise to CopMike here on the forum for the great work he does, and every one is allowed to make mistakes. I did send a calm and friendly PM to CopMike asking about this, but to be fair it is probably buried in his mailbox between all the winner mails, which is why I wrote about it here on the public forum. I do not consider it whining and complaining every day, just because I put focus on that all the happy entries on page 8 and 9 probably had 0% winner chance this year. I think you can agree that when you enter a raffle all expects a equal chance no matter how grateful we all are for this raffle And yes perhaps "CopMike picked the winners by randomly selecting a certain number of pages and spread out the winning entries on those pages (randomly again)" but giving the fact that at deadline he wrote a total of 165 entries instead of the 215-220 I counted a difference that would fit the page 8 + 9 entries and the fact that even without these pages there are still some that does not win on the other pages also, I still believe more that is was a honest mistake where page 8 + 9 was lost. And I agree that is also a kind of random, so I never expected my writings to change anything this year. Finally a big congratulations to the all the winners and a merry Christmas to the winners, the losers and CopMike

No winners from page 8 and 9 again today 21st. and still no answers from the raffle master... I have to say that the difference between the entry number CopMike wrote at the deadline, and the real number of entries I counted earlier is just about the number of entries found on page 8 and 9 where strangely no one has won any prize. I believe that for some reason the entries on page 8 and 9 have been accidentally overlooked and never been part of this years raffle, because statistically it is virtual impossible to miss about 50 entries on two page following each other in a random raffle with so many winners.
-
Yes some of it, have just made the count myself and see a total of 218 entries so it should be 144 winners out of 218. A bit strange that CopMike wrote a lower number and also very statistical strange that out of 120 winners by now not a single of the 24 entries on page 9 has won and same goes for the 24 entries on page 8. From all the other pages with entries 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,10,11 and 12 there are many winners on every page even though several of these pages has a lower number of entries per page than page 8 and 9

I have still not had the luck to win, but have discovered something that puzzles me.... I came to look at the page 9 of the EB Xmas Raffle 2013 http://www.eurobrick...ic=88420&st=200 where my post is the first and was very surprised to find out that not a single of the 25 users on that page had won here by day 20. That seems almost like a statistical impossibility that no one from that page has been drawn as winners now also considering that there only is 12 pages of participants. So my question to the people doing this years draw; has something gone wrong and has the page 9 participants not been added to the draw this year? (I have also mailed this question directly to CopMike)

Fantastic prizes and so many possible winners every day is incredible - Thank you for hosting this massive raffle! I even see several minifigs in lot 1, 3, 4 and 5 that currently is on my Bricklink wishlist. My fingers is crossed hoping for a early Christmas present. Good luck to all!

LEGO Collectable Minifigures - The LEGO Movie Series Discussion
Dane replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I have a bit of mixed feelings about this, because I like the originality of the collection series and don't like this movie tie in, but at the same time I like many of the new figs in this new series where several of them easily could have been part of the "normal" minifig series. I don't understand why people are so disappointed about the lack of the 80's space guy, because looking at this series it is clearly figs or versions of figs that probably not will be found in the around 12 movie sets. Looking at the new movie trailer it looks like the 80's space guy has a role big enough to make him very likely to be found in at least one of the movie sets in my opinion. How LEGO will solve the helmet question/problem is another matter, which only time will tell... -
You do know that Lego make toys for kids right? Every year a new generation of kids reach the age where they can start to play with Lego sets and since city is one of the most evergreen and popular themes there will again and again over the years be repeat of former sets in more or less same versions... There is a limit to how many times you can make totally different police car sets just to name an example...

Fantastic model and also a great tribute from Lego. Maersk Line is part of the A.P. Møller Maersk group which is Denmarks largest industry company. The container shipping line has for the last decades again and again set the record for largest container vessels. The old shipowner Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller which was the wealthiest man in Denmark and the the 3th generation in the company died in 2012 at age 98 while still active at the company. At the time these new record breaking Triple-E’ container vessel was already being build and the first one ready to go in to the line was therefore named after him and it is that ship that is featured on this model.

REVIEW: 71002 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 11
Dane replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Once again a great review Whitefang and series 11 looks great, unfortunately there is not much love from LEGO to their home country Denmark, first the Kjeld Kirk Christiansen "50% greed tax" on BTTF 21103 for Danish customers compared to English/german even though same production costs for LEGO and now the apparently true rumors that series 11 will not be available in Denmark.... Shame on you TLG!!!- 117 replies

Review Review: 21103 Back To The Future Time Machine
Dane replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Since the major factories that produce Lego bricks mainly is in Europe and North america there will probably be some extra transport expenses to the Australian marked which naturally is irritating for Australian collectors, but a 50% difference between Denmark where the largest European factory is and England/Germany is simply a disgraceful price difference because there is virtually no cost difference for LEGO not even the bit higher Danish sales tax can explain this. If this is not a mistake, LEGO has crossed the line and I will boycot their products from now on, and I would suggest other people in EU that see the same 50% price difference to England/Germany on this product to do the same!!!- 207 replies

Review Review: 21103 Back To The Future Time Machine
Dane replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Something must have gone terrible wrong with the prices at LEGO HQ, 35£ in UK, 40€ in Germany but 450 DKK in Denmark that is 50% more than UK and Germany customers from a Danish company!!! I was going to buy 2 but at these price differences forget it, I am not going to buy any and will really rethink any future buys from LEGO from now on, this is plain disgraceful and distasteful!!!- 207 replies

Next CUUSOO set: 21103 Back to the Future™ Time Machine
Dane replied to Blakstone's topic in LEGO Licensed
Love this set, Lego is giving us all 3 versions in the same box plus two great minifigs and what looks like a lot of printed parts. If people don't like this, then just don't buy it! There is plenty of other great LEGO sets at the moment -
It seems the site admins has gone republican tea party and looking at this vote it looks like North Korea and the US apparently do have something in common after all... I have visited this forum for years also before being a member and has always enjoyed the good tone here where people from all over the world met and talked about their favorite brick with out ever talking nations or us vs. them. With this stupid idea or prank that has changed the last days which I find sad, so I think it is time for you to re-think this and get back to what this forum does best: being one of the WORLD's best forums for adult Lego fans from all over the WORLD!

Yes that much I did understand But how he can think that when it is written in a serious paper and partly confirmed by Lego already, I don't understand. But exciting to see what the result of these confirmed negotiations is, and what type of product LEGO has in mind with this license if it goes through.
-
Why do you write that? It is in a the Danish (home of LEGO) paper Børsen (a local Danish equivalent of the financial times) today and confirmed by Lego's marketingdirektor, Mads Nipper, that the company is negotiating with the people behind the Simpsons, but he can not say anything about when an agreement is made.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 10 Discussion
Dane replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Great to see the series 10 image, Thank you! My thoughts about this round: Librarian - Decent but a bit dull, but fits of course nicely with the nerd, they even both have printed coffee mugs. Painter - A nice addition to the city and new tool piece Warrior Princess - Looks good and a nice shield Sea Captain - One of my favorites, great seagull and captain hat Baseball Player - Meh.. as a European not that interesting but at least an original new figure Sad Clown - Very nice addition + black ruff, and will enable all to make the classic "white clown & 2 stupid clowns-trio" act Trendsetter - Very cool figure and hair, with nice accessories in the smartphone and dog Biker/Mechanic - Very much meh... seems below standard except the tattoo. Grandpa - Great and funny with the new bald top piece Native - I actually like this addition to native tribe, with the black Mohawk and tomahawk. Paintballer - Nice paintball gun but else a bit dull Roman - A great new addition to the Roman legion and will truly be popular Medusa - Nice addition to the mythical creators Skydiver - Original idea and based on previous images of the parachute back-bag piece a nice figure Bee Lady - Perhaps the weakest of the animal suit figures but that is my opinion, still a nice addtion Soldier - What else to say other than the hair takes the main rolle here and will make this one very popular. Golden Figure - Not hot on this "rare figure" idea, It would have been better to let all take part in the 10 series anniversary with something all could get instead of this "treasure hunt" but at least it´s not that spectacular. So all in all a nice series which I'll rank average compared with the previous 9 - a mix of good and less good.- 1,076 replies

This is probably a good reason LEGO does not want more Western themed sets now: http://www.flickr.com/photos/thebricktime/8282841865/ Actually some nice looking sets in this series it seems! -

REVIEW: 71000 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 9
Dane replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I really think this series 9 is one of the best but If I should give a comment on the ratio of 2-6 instead of 3-5 minifigures, if this also is the case with the official boxes I have to say that I think that TLG have dropped the ball here. If TLG truly believe that they have made 16 great new figures they should as a minimum put 3 of each in every box of 60 since this both will be good for people buying a whole box and for kids (and others) buying single packs from a box. I never believe the 3-5 ratio has been a problem for army builders in past series because there the main problem have often instead been that the army builder figs have only been 3 per box instead of 4 or 5. This 2-6 ratio seems to make to many good figs in this series rare and either difficult or more expensive to obtain for kids and adults alike and others too ordinary and will probably keep many collectors from buying a box. In my opinion a best of both worlds solution would have been to keep the 3-5 ratio and then let the most popular army builder figs be 5 or at least 4 per box.- 171 replies

REVIEW: 71000 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 9
Dane replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Fantastic review as always Whitefang, Thank you for doing this great work! This truly looks like a nice series which I personal will rank in the high end. The hair and face on that Hollywood starlet really gives the figure a Marilyn Monroe look.- 171 replies

What do you think of CMF Series 9 teaser release by TLG?
Dane replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Well, the question seems a bit academic now since pictures of new parts and figures from series 10/11 have been revealed (by accident ?) and very much discussed here already... But for a series that has not been any pictures of it is, as always, exciting to see new images of coming Minifigures -
Very cool images and looking very good for the future minfig collector series! But someone at LEGO HQ must have made a giant mistake with this, because since Playmobile and others have started to be very inspired by LEGO they have kept pictures of the futures series extremely well hidden until close to release, compared to the earlier series..
