  1. Yes this seems like a new or other version of the T-rex sold in the first wave...? Can't say I like this more than the "original" which I think looks very cool. Also funny that all places I see people comment on that strange looking blue car but no one seems to notice that it looks like a classic Citroén 2CV of course in a customized attack version
  2. Beautiful model and great looking viking longship you have created Captain Green Hair. Here is a link to a danish site with a lot of images (text in English also) about danish viking ships both old found and also newly reconstructed ships. Viking ships
  3. I actually think it is a nice little POTC minifigs pack LEGO have made here, and this is the only package as far as I know where you get both a white, brown and black sword holder if I see the colors correct, that is very nice.
  4. Fantastic review as always!!! Thank you they look great!
  5. First of all great to finally see an image of the Black Pearl. I think it is difficult to judge the design based on this one image, firstly because it is a small image, and I need to see more angles and secondly because it is a preliminary image which means things can change. If you google images for the Black Pearl it is clearly not a spectacular looking ship, so this is what Lego has to work with. The whole myth in the films about the ship is that it is a rather old looking ghostly pirate ship with completely black hull and black sails. (the ship was only thought to be used in that first movie, no one was expecting any sequels especially considering the epic fails of modern pirate movies before this movie) Based on this it should be a very black looking Lego ship and this looks Ok until I see some more and final images from more angles that give me better knowledge to judge the model. The minifigs selection looks really great, Davy Jones plus the hammerhead and what looks to be Bootstrap will be a great addition to the Lego POTC minifigs and a lot more exciting than getting the midget and Cotton for example.
  6. "I call on Captain Teague, Keeper of the Code!" It would be nice to get him as a minifigure and the book of pirate code in a set
  7. Congrats, that is looking good I wish it was me, I simply don't understand why they find it so difficult to send the right thing to other customers... About 2 days ago I received my letter from Lego, the only thing in it was the old coins 10-20-30-40, and that even after both a phone call and mail clearly explaining that it was about the gold bars, and I'm even living in Denmark. Have send a new mail again and hoping the best this time, because I don't like to bother them about this.
  8. Great review thank you. Cool mini-figures in this set, the scientist looks a little like the professor in Independence Day
  9. Oh still waiting for the first line to be released here, but great to hear that a second wave could be on its way. My guess/wish of possible sets: Flying Dutchman set(a must!) Flying Dutchman related small set Shanghai set Port Royal prison cells with a dog, a bone and a key :) Port royal port set Tortuga including for example Mr. Gibbs, ex-commodore Norrington and a small pig (If you know the movies, you know what I mean) ;) Just a couple of quick ideas I'm sure there are other possibilities. Edit: and a Captain Teague figure whould also be very nice!!!
  10. Thanks for a great review!
  11. Thanks for the review. A very nice set, I can almost not wait for the sets to be released here
  12. I feel the need to quote Lex Luthor: WRONG!!! The pictures clearly show real chrome gold bars. Also take a look at this toy fair image Chrome gold bar that clearly show that this was the original plan. The box images also emerged on the net before the the toy fairs showing this chrome gold. I do not believe for a second that it would have cost Lego 5$ extra to do the gold bars in chrome gold. Looking at the coins and the center part holding the 4 coins I'm pretty sure the chrome gold amount would have been the same on a gold bar as on a coin set. I must say it's shame that they for some reason changed their mind because they looked fantastic!
  13. Thanks for the great review. A great looking Gibbs and other nice parts in this set. "Mr Gibbs you may throw my hat if you like.... but sir it's glued to your hair"
  14. Many thanks for the review!
  15. Thanks for the review, one of my favorite sets from this series
  16. (first time poster, long time reader) Being a great fan of POTC and waiting a long time for these sets, I must say that I'm very disappointed regarding the pearl gold bar. The new chrome gold bar looked fantastic and still does on the box art, on all the images from the toy fairs, and even in the printed instruction index where they are shown together with the chrome gold coins. With Lego having record revenue, being a quality brand and a very expensive one where I live, I consider this a very bad and poor decision by some bean counter at Lego to turn up the earnings even more per set, since I expect the chrome gold to be more costly than normal parts, but then they should also have removed it from the box art. It is not normal Lego style to show parts on the box that do not fit with the real content. In the words of Mr. Gibbs: Captain, I think the crew, meaning me as well, were expecting something a bit more shiny...
