  1. Good summary. Looking forward to hearing more about the new wave :)
  2. Definitely wondering :) I can't help but think that it will either be in a Ministry or Burrow set or she will be in the next CMF.
  3. I'm really looking forward to seeing what Lego comes up with for this line next year. Lego Star Wars has become a bit jaded for me of late build wise what with all the new trilogy rehashes, whereas this line feels really fresh and colourful. I have loved both building and displaying the builds. Rewatching the movies after building the sets has given me a new appreciation of how well Lego has generally the covered the movies so far (the Chamber of Secrets being the only real glaring hole). One thing I have done is buy more carriages for the Express and horses for the Beauxbatons Carriage. I'm no builder, but I like that I could easily add to these builds to make them a bit more screen accurate. The carriage especially looks great with the extra horses. BTW, the horses are now available to buy on B+P (both the body and wings) if anyone wants to add to their carriage without buying multiples of the set. Now I can't wait to see how Lego covers the later movies as I was in a dark age when sets for the later movies last came out, so as both a kid and now I have only ever had HP Lego relating to the first movies.
  4. I'm not sure how long this page on Lego's website has been up, but I've only just come across it: https://www.lego.com/en-gb/themes/harry-potter/about?icmp=HP-SHMBL-EG-HP-harryp-702 This line stood out to me: 'And next? Who knows what LEGO magic will be conjured up in the future? Keep checking the LEGO website to ensure you don’t miss out!' A hint of sets soon to be unveiled or are they just teasing us for next summer?
  5. That article was published in September. Since then, the UK S@H has recently updated its 'retiring soon' section and there are quite a few Star Wars sets on the list. From the article's list 6 out of the 19 sets it lists as possible December 2019 retirements have not been marked as retiring soon by Lego. That's not to say that they aren't of course as we all know Lego works in mysterious ways and its website even more so. Even so, the list was correct on 13 out of the 19, so I'd say there is a good chance the list is correct regarding the Flacon, but really your guess is as good as mine or anyone else's.
  6. So Lego has just announced it has acquired Bricklink. I wonder what this will mean for B+P?
  7. Oh yes the new modular. Forgot that was coming soon. Makes sense. :)
  8. So if the white bulldog is in City, what about the brown one? Could it be Ripper from a CMF? I can't say Marge and Ripper are at the top (or even lower really) on my want list, but it does not seem to be from the new Hidden Side, City, Friends or Ninjago sets. Do any DC characters have a bulldog companion?
  9. I want a Kaminoan! I grew up in the prequel era and personally, although I will admit they are not perfect, I don't get all the hate. I recently bought the new 20th Anniversary Slave 1, but I would really have loved if it had been a new version of Jango's to go on my display with Obi-Wan's jedi starfighter, a set which could easily include a Kaminoan. I would also love a new Bounty Hunter chase with the speeders and Zam. Captain Typho, Shmi and Beru would also be appreciated and a ROTS Padme (or in fact any other Padme, preferably not using Jyn's face) but I won't hold my breath.
  10. I agree with others that sadly the religious aspect probably rules out Narnia, but funnily enough I came across a Narnia Dawn Treader made by a compatible brick company this morning (Ingenious Toys) so it seems they have the licence currently anyway.
  11. Is this a guess or do you know the contents of the set?
  12. Yep. No sun or new HP Lego for eight months. Dark times indeed. ??
  13. No problem and thank you for answering. :) I tried searching for the info but couldn't find it. A real mixed bag then, but HP doing the best out of all themes, even beating Star Wars and Marvel. As a Star Wars fan that still makes me very happy because I am loving this theme. I just caved to nostalgia and won an auction for the Fluffy piece from 2001. Really wanted the Forbidden Corridor set as a kid and never got it, so I told myself that getting the old Fluffy couldn't harm as it will still be a while before Lego come back to Philosopher's Stone, if at all.
  14. Taking this years 1-4 idea with a grain of salt considering nothing is confirmed, as much as I want sets (and figs) from the later films as I was in a dark age last time they were around, I also like the idea of infilling from the first few years. Having just re-watched all the films, I have a new appreciation of how well Lego has covered the movies so far with sets and figs, but there is obviously the glaring omission of Lockhart and the Chamber of Secrets from Year 2. Saying that, I can't see Lego releasing a Chamber of Secrets when they have included the Basilisk in the Great Hall, and I can't seem them retiring the Great Hall just yet when the set is apparently selling so well and it plays a major part in the modular castle system they seem to be creating. So I'm not sure about a Chamber of Secrets or any other set that really requires a section of castle (say the troll scene or Forbidden Corridor) coming anytime soon because it messes with that system. Making more sets from the first four movies certainly wouldn't be hard though: Privet Drive, Diagon / Knockturn Alley, The Burrow, Shrieking Shack, the Lake task, Durmstrung Ship etc. They all seem like fair size sets though rather than a wave with a spread of prices. To be honest, as long as the theme keeps going long enough to cover the later films eventually I rather they take their time, but I'm just happy with what we get anyway. The idea of a time with no new Harry Potter Lego seems ludicrous now, but also a scary memory that will surely become a reality again at some point so I want to enjoy it whilst it lasts.
  15. No problem. I never get good deals in my area lol.
  16. No not really. They have had discounts in the past, but no more than other HP sets I'd say. Unless you happen to find some lucky super local deal.
  17. Ah okay. Just taken a look at the article. There's a couple of conflicts with Star Wars sets that other 'leaks' say aren't retiring yet, but I agree Stonewars is usually reliable. And I would expect the FB sets to retire soon. In fact I got Newt's Case the other day on that logic.
  18. I'm not doubting that you're right, but how do you know those sets are being discontinued? I can't see anything on the Lego website saying as such.
  19. To be honest, I think the only thing that connects the Gingerbread house to the Shrieking Shack is the fact that it is a snow covered building. Otherwise it looks nothing like the movie version of the SS. I think the Clocktower build actually looks closer design wise to the SS than the GH.
  20. Meanwhile, the parents get 71043. ?
  21. No that makes sense :) And I think the theme continues to provide that versatility with the Knight Bus, Clocktower, Hagrid's Hut, Graveyard and Horntail. Even if you're not into HP these sets can appeal for other reasons.
  22. That will have affected sales of the train then I'm sure. But don't get me wrong, I really like the Whomping Willow set for the car, tree and that Filch figure which is a fantastic likeness, and have nothing against it selling well. And to see the Harry Potter sets doing so well in general is brilliant. :)
  23. I'm just going on my country (the UK). The train has never been an exclusive in the UK and seems to be the one which gets the most interest when there is a sale / on deal websites. The WW on the other hand has received some large discounts at certain times and even been stocked at a gaming store.
  24. That is very interesting, just as knowing how the theme is selling, but also seeing what sets made the top 10. The GH does not surprise me, but I would have expected to see the Hogwarts Express as the second both on account of it's iconic nature and the fact that it is also a train which even those who don't like a theme often pick up anyway. The Whomping Willow on the other hand has the iconic Ford Anglia, but what looks like a rather unremarkable section of the castle. I'd love to know what drove buyers other than AFOLS to go for that set. Was it the marketing showing the set joined to the GH? The fact that it is cheaper than the train (maybe the train will sell as well in the end)? Or have the statistics been skewed by discounts on certain sets? The fact that 71043 has also sold so well is great because that is not a cheap set so to reach the top 10 is fantastic. :) Can you say what the other sets on the top 10 list were just out of interest?
