  1. That's interesting. Just taken a look at that post (cool advert too) and it seems like the usual 'great set, but a lot of money' comments. So maybe, although we'll never know exactly because Lego won't tell us, but since when have people not complained about Lego prices being too high and since when have Lego reduced a set. The recent Grievous Starfighter for instance was *cough* grievously overpriced and got a lot of negativity for it, but it's still the same. The only thing I can think is that this is on another level of pricing, but did the Falcon not receive similar comments on reveal? Obviously no one has been charged that price yet, but something has made them reconsider. Anyway it's all good.
  2. Yes. I'm not going to bother delving into Price per piece or inflation etc to work out what it 'should' be, but just from a straight quick glance consumer standpoint, whilst it is still a considerable amount of money, staying under the £700 (just!) seems like a better bet. £749.99 gives that impression (at least in my mind) that your tipping closer to the £1000 mark as you're basically in that last quarter before that milestone.
  3. To be sure! Hope it stays that way.
  4. Don't know about any other country or when or why it has happened, but the UCS AT-AT has gone from £749.99 to £699.99 in the UK.
  5. I'm so excited to find out what these are. I know the probability is that they will be extremely underwhelming. but there's always hope in the unknown.
  6. You're right. That was during my dark age so never saw that one either. The current AT-ST 75254 is actually a similar box, but this new one just looks really slim. Meh maybe it's just the angle of the shots and the black corner slash making it feel so squished in.
  7. Ah yes I suppose. I don't collect those so have never seen those boxes in person. From a marketing standpoint though, those boxes seem wider almost at first glance because of the black, whereas this one looks very squashed. It reflects the size nature of the product inside, but at the same time, doesn't give the impression of as much bulk as a square box would so might not seem a as good value to those parents/grandparents/impulse buyers who just see it on a shelf. Interesting choice.
  8. I wonder if Lego will put a limit on the purchase that reflects allowing people to do this? What's the normal limit for BPs on S@H? Is it 3? They're all OOS on S@H so can't see at the moment. It's clearly their intention of releasing this BP now to encourage people to fill their AT-ATs with troops, but I don't think the normal limit will allow that. Will be interesting to see if it quickly goes OOS or if Lego will have anticipated the demand and increased production.
  9. The snowtrooper commander is also remaining exclusive to the UCS AT-AT so watch that go for ridiculous prices. Would have been nice to get that in the BP, but then it would make it less amassable so some might prefer just standard snowtroopers. I honestly missed Chewy's printing at first glance, but I think it's a good variant. After all, Chewy's fur gets covered in snow so it doesn't really make sense to keep getting a 'clean' version of him. Those trying to make Hoth MOCs, especially with the UCS AT-AT release, will find it useful I think and I'm sure kids will appreciate it. The box art is also cool, but the box shape is also a surprise. Are there any other boxes that are short, but tall like this new AT-ST one?
  10. That is very true. It did seem odd to have figure stands in a battlepack. I'm assuming someone saw the snow build and described it as say 'somewhere to stand figures' or 'there's a stand for the figures' and this got misconstrued and became 'stands' for figures.
  11. The January 2021 Moments were revealed on Monday 16th November 2020 whereas the Marvel sets were revealed a couple of days later so I'd hope we'd get something this week.
  12. One thing I like the sound of with some of the sets next year is the plaques with quotes on. It just adds a really cool display element for me. I could just imagine a Mustafar one with 'I have the high ground'. Too dark?
  13. You learn something new everyday.
  14. We should officially create a new word then: Legoraum. Now we all need that whether it means 'space' or 'room'.
  15. That is true, but then apparently Kofferraum can have more than one meaning, one being boot as in 'car boot', but translate that back to English and we could then be getting a Hogwarts boot set. So it's not just English that uses one word to mean several things. But I agree, and hope, that it does mean trunk rather than strictly suitcase. We could recreate the whole Moody imprisoned scene.
  16. Okay that's interesting. I used Google translate for trunk and it told me a completely different word, so I assumed that they really did mean to use the word for suitcase or they would have used the more specific word for trunk. Just shows how language can be misconstrued.
  17. So the Luke lightsaber promo is apparently going to be just with UCS AT-AT purchases. I find Hoth Bricks mention of how Lego might ship the promo without it being squashed interesting and considerably relevant as I recently received a squashed GWP because it was shipped with the Hogwarts Castle. The UCS AT-AT seems likely to stomp on the lightsaber promo so it could well be an issue. https://www.hothbricks.com/lego-star-wars-40483-luke-skywalkers-lightsaber-le-cadeau-exclusif-pour-lachat-du-set-75313-at-at/
  18. A trunk would make more sense to me than a suitcase, considering that for Hogwarts students a trunk is a suitcase and that would make for a more wizarding world object. But then Promobricks did use the word for suitcase and not trunk so maybe Lego is just going to reuse the Polly Pocket style idea of either their books or Newt's case to simply create a un-foldable play space for kids that outwardly looks like a suitcase you can decorate with tiles to show your house affiliation. I don't think we do know anymore as yet. Curious ... Very curious.
  19. I just trying to help another user whilst following the rules. This is what others did for me in the past.
  20. It's not secrecy, it's just not permitted by Eurobricks to openly say where to go for leaks as far as I'm aware.
  21. According to Promo Bricks ' there will probably be a student and a teacher in the set, who you can also adapt to your wishes with different torso and legs'.
  22. A picture of one of the Christmas GWPs, Santa's Front Yard, has just been revealed and on first glance it really does look to me like a battle droid has had a run in with the reindeer.
  23. Thanks for the reminder; that came around quick. I don't live anywhere near a store so haven't been to a physical store for about 15 years, but I'll definitely check out the online hunt.
  24. I'm really looking forward to seeing the new Moments books. As both a book and Lego enthusiast, I actually love how they look on display and I think the black especially is going to look sweet. Also really looking forward to the new Pomfrey and seeing how they have integrated the clock into the castle section. I know it's a remake essentially and the Clocktower is probably my favourite section from the 2018-20 line, but as that format has clearly ended, I'm all for adding new sections to the new anniversary set up. I display the 'old' castle sections outwards so the facades are on show and the 'new' sections inside outwards so the insides display, so the clock might not even be seen in my set up, but I'm interested to see if they use the fantastic clock piece again.
