Wizarding World 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
BacktoBricks replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
If we do, I'd be expecting something POA or GOF based. Maybe Sirius and Lupin or the four house champions. -

Nothing really restarts until 4th here in the UK so I wasn't expecting much, although I don't know what schedule of bank holidays other countries are working too. -

I'm nowhere near a store, but heard that too. £17.99 although Bluewater apparently out. -

That would make more sense to me, because Gringotts with the dragon is a very iconic location just from the theme park. I bet quite a lot of people recognize it who haven't even watched the movies. That being said, I can't see the D2C being anything to do with DA if it doesn't have Gringotts; it just seems too expensive. So then I would think the D2C would be something else. Either way, I'm exited for more info. -

I'm surprised there are any Bothans left after all this time, but I do hope there are some still lurking in the shadows willing to take the risk. -

Very true. The books are an interesting build and I love how Hedwig slots on top (you'll see when you get there). -

I did thank you. No Lego (I've already bought it all for myself), but I did get Lego gift cards for the first time. They're going to come in handy next year! I got the set for the same reason: the figures, the bottles and the letter. That being said, I would at least wait for a promo or double VIP. It's actually OOS online so I'm presuming your store will have it. -

Do you find value in sets that don't have ("normal" not golden) minifigures in and are build focused and, if so, will you have space to display it? If so, it's an interesting build and makes an exceptional display piece, but if it's just going to end up disassembled again, then I would say save your money for the coming year as it's clearly going to be an expensive one for this theme. If you want the golden figures though regardless, then I would get it for those alone and the build experience because buying them separately is disproportionately costly in my opinion. Merry Christmas. -

As much as I would like another CMF to flesh out variants of characters that don't fit easily into sets, I think we're getting enough HP this year for most people's wallets so it might not be a bad thing. -

A lot more people home and not working in 2020 and more free time for discussion? Less interest in the new castle system (although people do like to say what they don't like as much so maybe not), DA taking up more discussion in 2020 than Hogwarts Icons did in 2021 (don't know if that's true, but seems highly possible). Interesting. As @BrickFunatic says, knowing a CMF is coming and minifigure speculating probably played a part in quite a few more extra pages. -

The Beauxbatons Carriage was £45 so I can't see a ship for less than the $80 slot. -

Can you imagine the uproar if we got the other side and still no Gringotts. I'd be there for it if we eventually got Gringotts anyway, but they might be poking the proverbial bear there at bit too much unless Gringotts is it's own separate set in the wave. I agree though that the price seems a little too high for the other side + a Gringotts with dragon, but maybe the other side + Gringotts (no dragon) or Gringotts with dragon + Leaky Cauldron and Knockturn Alley ie. Borgin and Burkes. The later would make the most sense to me from a marketing perspective as the other parts of DA that they haven't included bar The Leaky Cauldron and Gringotts just don't seem important enough to create a set of this price point as most of the bigger shops were put into DA. Curious. Very curious. -

I don't think a lot of us knew we wanted a giant Hedwig standing on a stack of books but we still got it. And there are a lot of train enthusiasts out there, so add HP fans to those and I'm sure there's a market. Plus, in many ways Lego really drives the narrative of what we buy as Lego HP collectors. We don't know we even want it half the time until it's released. -

If you think how the Disney train and station is $330 and how that train is quite basic in its form, then a motorised Express with a platform for another $140 doesn't seem that farfetched. To be clear though, as much as it could look beautiful as a D2C, I would rather it was Gringotts. If someone ask me how would you like to spend $470, a motorised Lego Hogwarts Express would not be my immediate answer. -

If it satisfies both Potter fans and ship lovers then I'd say it's possible, but it's definitely down the list. As much as I love Hogwarts Icons for what it is, as long as this one isn't buildable objects I'm fine. Nothing motorized is cheap when it comes to Lego and considering how the train would lend itself to a detailed model I don't think parental backlash would put them off. Not when there would be a suitable 'child' version on the market still. -

They could also do a detailed Ministry set with the central fountain and other areas off it, but that also seems less likely. -

A Durmstrang ship and second task could also have D2C potential, but that one's lower on my possible list than Gringotts, motorised Hogwarts Express or a Quidditch Pitch.
