Okay thank you. I don't use any building software so didn't know if someone had done something like you have and built WWW in the program for reference. -

How do you know the WWW piece count by the way @NoOneOfImportance? Is there a tool or site that has that info? -

If that's the case then again even more so it can't be a very substantial build. -

The only redeeming factor I can think of for the theory that DA might not be getting outright replaced is that the piece count for 76422 is supposedly 834 pieces, whereas DA is 5544. So each building of DA is roughly 1350 ish pieces. So going on those piece comparisons, then this new set can't possibly be a more fully formed Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes building or even be as detailed as the DA version. There's a roughly 500 piece difference, so the most I think it could be is more of an interior playset with a little bit of a façade, but not even really a full outer shell. After all, there's not much you can do to make the DA WWW simpler external wise, not enough to save 500 pieces. If this is correct and it can then slot on the back of the current WWW to make it more fully formed that would be most appreciated. -

It does doesn't it. Granted if each shop was more detailed it would have it's benefits, but at the same time, DA is beautiful and could be expanded rather than replaced. The little archway to Knockturn Alley for instance feels like the perfect way to add on a Borgin and Burkes. It will really take the magic out of it if DA is being somewhat replaced, piece by piece. I theorised on where redoing all current buildings would lead when the D2C Burrow picture emerged, and speculated on how it could turn into a quick redoing of DA, but I didn't actually think it would happen this quick. Buying D2Cs no longer feels like a reward now, the big set you had to save up for, valued because that content rarely gets covered in Lego form. It's too easy come, easy go. -

Unless of course you are drawing your info from a crystal ball and it is all essentially hocus pocus, then any info is appreciated. From your hints I'm guessing it's Diagon Alley: Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes. -

If DA becomes effectively obsolete with this new set and Gringotts is compatible with this new build and not DA I will be very sad. A lot of people have invested in DA now and I think it would at least be an acknowledgment of that to wait until that one is off shelves before they release another iteration of it. Our set guesses, Durmstrang Ship, Lovegood House etc show that they are not yet out of new material and therefore bound to be rereleasing everything. Having seen a recent marketing video for the Warner Bros Studio Tour, it seems like they now have a build of The Burrow in the back lot which would explain why Lego might be going to a D2C of that quicker than we might have expected, but in general rereleasing sets that have only just been, or indeed are still on, shelves for no better words takes the magic away from the sets they 'replace'. I will not pass overall judgment on the new set until I see it, but I really hope it is compatible with and expands DA rather than diminishes it by effectively redoing parts of it. -

If children like this Young Jedi Adventures set then that's fine, set target met, but it's not for me nor, I would think, a lot of AFOLS. Personally Yoda looks horrific, but it's clearly meant to encapsulate a different graphic style. -

So if part of the DA expansion is for WWW and that is right next to the entrance to Knockturn Alley ... -

Now I get what you mean. Hogwarts Express with Hogsmeade platform. Different enough to not make me regret the D2C though. Did you not want a Hogsmeade platform? I could be getting you mixed up with someone else it's been so long now. -

Because they are determined to keep the theme going as long as possible and fill up your empty shelves. -

DA is my display piece so if it adds to it and enhances it then that's excellent. -

Interesting. If that's the case I hope it really does add on to DA not make it look akward. -

I'm guessing they mean a remake of DA as in a variant of sorts of what is on shelves with different shops. If so hoping for Borgin and Burkes and Leaky Cauldron. I can't see how it could be a remake of the current DA shops when that expensive set is still on shelves for another year or so. And bRickbRat said 'expand' DA not replace. -

Going on what is currently on shelves, I can only imagine that it would a Great Hall and Astronomy Tower remake from that. Or maybe another Privet Drive as that is retiring. Your crystal ball seems to have been spot on so far, so we'll see I suppose. Neither would really interest me, apart from minifigure potential, but I must admit the thought of only needing to purchase Gringotts straight off this year is a bit of a wallet reprieve. -

It's been 5 years since the last release of a playset Hogwarts express, but it only retired at the end of last year so I hope they give it at least a year's break without one on the shelf. Not that I think a Collectors' Edition and a playset can't be on shelves at the same time as the market for each product is undoubtedly largely different, but surely the fact that some people will have already purchased the collectors' set would put them off purchasing yet another express so soon and there is also a small overlap of consumers who will go for the Collectors' Edition over a playset. But give it a year or two and they might be ready to purchase another playset express, maybe just for the minifigures, to 'downgrade' from the larger one to free up space, because they have saved some funds to do so etc. Of course Lego often does stuff that seems to make no sense so that's just my thinking. Same here. Although the Expecto Patronum set remains in the back of my mind, but it has been relegated to a doubtful purchase as I'm not sure it's going to be a playset. I really hoping the Durmstrang Ship is one of them, because whilst I know it has negligible screen time, it has more book mentions and it would really help to complete the Goblet Of Fire sets. Plus I really want a Karkaroff! It's been over a week since new information was teased so I hope they follow through soon. -

I totally agree. I feel like I'm just looking at miscellaneous Endor Rebel Troopers when I see these minifigures. Luke clearly has his black outfit under his poncho in the movie and as much as this minifigure's torso is going to be dominated by the printed poncho, seeing tan legs from the side just totally spoils it. Did they not think they could print the bottom of the poncho onto black legs without it being poor quality I wonder? And yet the same goes for Leia; she is clearly wearing blue trousers in the movie and every previous Endor Leia has honoured this. So her green legs are jarring and inaccurate again and I can't see any reason why printing onto sand blue instead of olive green would be an issue. Overall, whilst I am always aware of the fact that designers are constricted by elements we are unaware of, considering past ability to produce accurate minifigures, buying this set now would just feel like giving Lego a licence to print money, because objectively the set itself is a lot of money for the amount of plastic and the minifigures are a poor representation of the movie material. This was the set I was most looking forward to this year, but now I'm out. As for the I the poncho on Leia in the Tydirium set, I thought it was so cute and really added character to the minifigure, but I understand why they might want to stick to prints, especially when characters are being seated on vehicles. That being said, I just wish they would stay consistent with it. Prints seem to be dominating this year and that's fine to me, so long as next year they don't start going for printed cloth pieces and kamas again. Visually I would just like to see some consistency. Which leads me on to what @Clone OPatra said. Cohesion has become a problem with the theme and partly this is not Lego's fault; the variety and wealth of new material and the fact that it is formed from television series rather than movies means that as Lego can only produce a limited amount of Star Wars sets each year this is inevitably going to split the content they create. Their ability to create a wave largely dominated by the content of a single new movie has passed. However, they can control the boxes and whilst I haven't got a toy store near me so I can walk in and appreciate the products on shelves, you only have to look at a online web page to appreciate the disparity in designs. -

I am! I was only thinking the other day he was probably going to be a boring repeat of the same minifigure and that his episode 6 variations were going to have that awful wig piece for eternity .. And then this. Doesn't quite make up for the fact that Royal Guards flanking the front of the diorama would have really made it something special and worth the price, but it is certainly a welcome improvement. -

Maybe Lego realises that two expensive dioramas is probably enough for one year and they can put Jabba's Palace on the backburner for a year. Yes the ROTJ anniversary will have passed, but OT set releases aren't as time critical as merchandise for other current media. Here's hoping. -

Love the new Bo Katan facepiece and hair combo. Such a great likeness. Really well done to the graphic designers on that one.
