  1. I really hope these aren't true, just because a brick built Sorting Hat is just another uninspiring object and The Burrow, whilst potentially an amazingly detailed set, is not really needed. It would continue a trend of everything just getting bigger, but not necessarily better. More detailed yes, but not better for space or budgets. If every HP building starts to get this treatment, then at some point DA would be considered not detailed enough and in need of an upgrade. I can only imagine the budget that would require. This is, I presume, the point of the survey: do people want more buildable objects and more expensive building sets? What you describe with The Burrow sounds like the prelim builds people see in the backrooms of the toy fairs, where builds and figs aren't necessarily final, so maybe they have the basic build, but it would only go in to production if they survey receives a positive reaction towards it. When you say the survey was for upcoming Lego sets, I'm guessing they weren't all necessarily for this year so if it is a serious consideration it could always be canned anyway. Nevertheless, thank you for the info. I never take anything as true until at least a long established leaker or site confirms something and even then I realise things can be misconstrued or plans changed. But those sets certainly make for an interesting discussion point, regardless of whether they are actully true, on what people want to see generally going forward with the theme. So long as they don't become 'fact' on IG.
  2. My orders are back to normal now.
  3. Well I thought that, or thought they might even be doing it on purpose testing something or another, but now it's been a while and as they seem to have so many IT problems I'm just not sure.
  4. I have to wonder if they even know this is happening as it's been about 12 hours it would seem.
  5. It retired at the end of last year and I know for sure that it sold out in the UK before Christmas and before it was ever discounted. After Christmas it then showed as discounted along with a bunch of other Harry Potter sets and sets from other themes, but no stock. It's a bit sneaky because it makes people think they could have got it for that, but it was never available at that price at all.
  6. I'd really like a more detailed Chamber of Secrets. The current one is set to retire in 2024 and is clearly still considered the 'starter' set for the current modular castle and for that it does a great job; it provides a, if somewhat small, Great Hall, arguably the heart of the castle, and then encapsulates the Chamber of Secrets movie well with the Chamber, Lockhart's Classroom and office and the ability to recreate the duelling club in the Great Hall. For play or even for displaying in the current modular system it's a good set. However, for display I'd love a new Chamber, more in the style of the original 2002 set with both sides included as well as the head and entrance, but in a lot more detail. I really like the entrance door for the current one, but the face on the head is very cartoony and for me a brick built one would be preferable. There are some fantastic MOCs out there and whilst I know designers are restricted by piece counts, set prices, transferability into instructions etc, seeing what they have done in the past year or so, I'm sure they could create a fantastic display / more detail play piece still.
  7. Me too :( No more placing orders for me!
  8. UK Standard parts are open again. :)
  9. I had a reddish brown piece snap cleanly on my Attack of the Burrow set after 3 months. That was a 2020 set that was on display in a cabinet, away from direct sunlight, normal temperature and humidity levels in the room. I can't even imagine what older sets with that colour are like. I have an image of them crumbling when touched. I'm glad they are happy to replace for you. I'm typing this whilst waiting for my Harry Potter Horntail Dragon set to be delivered today. The irony that the set is basically all reddish brown is not now lost on me.
  10. I askes customer service a couple of weeks ago if they knew more specifically when it would reopen, and they took some time to check but said their info was still stating early January. Then a week later I asked again when contacting about something else and the person just straight away said it normally reopens in March/April. Their response kind of just felt like an automatic one and they didn't have the time to check so not sure how reliable it was, but it wouldn't surprise me if the expecting date keeps getting pushed back.
  11. They could yes, although I think it would be a bit of a weird line up to have in silver form, quite random. Other outfits may be more likely, but I can't help but think that they are in the train so that the book can have Hook or Wendy etc and then people have to buy both sets to flesh out whatever scene the book represents.
  12. Really happy to see Peter Pan and Tinker Bell in a cheap set. Don't have the CMF Peter or the Disney Castle, but really wanted both characters and glad I held off buying Tink off Bricklink. Interesting that they are in the train and not the Peter Pan book set.
  13. Is the Disney series rumoured to be coming in boxes and not bags or is that starting with the Marvel CMF later in the year?
  14. That's very true. Any idea of what format it might take spring to mind?
  15. I take my hat off to you and others who do go all in. I tried, but it just became overwhelming. That being said, I try and wait for good discounts like you, but sometimes spontaneity wins and things magically Add to Basket. I have £95 VIP so will probably treat myself in March to the Second Task and Room Of Requirement sets unless Amazon discounts quick then I will save my VIP for Gringotts along with the £100 gift card I got for Christmas. Crazy to think that would still only cover half the price though! I have no interest in the banner concept so am going to have to wait until those figs come down in price and purchase separately unless they discount to stupid cheap. But as for the rest of the wave I can't really say which ones I definitely won't get apart from Dobby. He would have to be super cute for me to purchase as buildable creatures aren't my thing, but after that, the Quidditch Trunk holds no appeal either, yet if it has enough desirable minifigs then it might just makes sense to purchase in the end. Still going to be an expensive year that's for sure (side note: I also love Star Wars, but this theme is killing my wallet and useable living space, so I just can't go there).
  16. Thanks for putting all the info in one place @NostalgicBricks. So glad I've managed to get my head around not being a completionist with this theme now when you lay out the costs like that. They really aren't going small with the theme this year!
  17. I'm guessing not Neville since he was in the advent calendar. I would expect the trio and I wouldn't be surprised if Luna found her way in there. But I would love Narcissa and Bill as two characters to yet be done in this new reboot, and then after that Aberforth, DH McGonagall, Arthur, Molly, Fleur, Ginny etc.
  18. Dobby got his sock! Buildable creatures aren't my thing, and I think he could look either horrific or extremely cute, but either way, a worthy choice. Gringotts for $430! Mind blown. Thank you to the designers for listening to us and keeping it in scale with DA. It's a steep price, but we've been waiting a long time, so I'm really glad we are getting a set that should be able to totally do the location justice. And I really hope there is a dragon in there for that price. Battle of Hogwarts - both the Sirius's Escape and the Room of Requirement set have courtyard elements so I'm guessing maybe this set might be one that joins them well. Maybe some destroyed courtyard sections and crumbling front door. Knight Bus - love the source material, probably not going to be able to resist, but hope it's either that more detailed than the last or it has some cool dimension changing play feature to make it worthy of another set so soon. I hope it's shenanigans! I want that ship! Overall all, a really exiting wave and if the designers do read these forums at all then I want to express my appreciation that they seemed to have listened to feedback and really expanded i to the later movies with the sets. I'm genuinely shocked how few small sets and early movie sets there are in this wave. I was definitely expecting some sort of Final Challenge, Troll bathroom or Winged Keys castle module, but there doesn't appear to be a cheap set in this wave.
  19. And yet a perfect crossover.
  20. Would an Art set not have a different number though and be included in the list for that theme? Don't they all start with 31? Definitely something odd about the PPR though.
  21. I grew up on the books first, then the movies second, and the Durmstrang Ship was more of a feature in the books than the film so it holds more nostalgia for me. It certainly has as much book and film time as the carriage so is just as deserving to be a set as the Carriage was. For me it would help round off my Goblet of Fire display nicely now we're getting the Second Task in March. The only other sets that could really finish off that movie would be a maze set or Quidditch World Cup tent or stadium.
  22. Five things spring straight to mind when I think of completing: Gringotts Borgin and Burkes Karkaroff Narcissa Malfoy Fang (new mould) So after that my sixth spot would be something more obscure like Shell Cottage, the Lovegood's house or the Quidditch World cup, basically something that was so down the list and obscure for a set before that we never thought they were a possibility, but now they don't seem totally undoable because of all the great sets we've got.
  23. So do I; I feel exactly the same way about the castle layout. 🤣 I think the Slytherin Common room is basically ruled out because of the banners like you say, but a potions classroom would work or a winged keys or final challenge module like @Tommy9 says. I had the original final challenge and always wanted the Fluffy Corridor and Winged key sets, so getting that trio again would be extremely nostalgic.
  24. For me I like the build because of the bright colours coupled with the fact that they managed to get the wonky angles of the house. Then add to that the fact that the location is a big part of the story and has a very warm feel and you create a set that I love. Which is saying something as I primarily love minifigures and the ones in the set could be better e.g. Harry, Ron, no skirt printing for Bellatrix or Molly.
