  1. Well, this is my second attempt at making decals, and this time I've added alot more detail. I made these for a crusader MOC I'm almost finished. I'm quite pleased with how they turned out :-) First, the Templars: Spearman: Archer: The Saracens: Saracen 1: Saracen 2: Note that I wanted it to be easy to take the decals off the shields, so I used blue tack. Hence, the shields look rather badly attached :-/ The armies: Enjoy! Feedback appreciated ;-)
  2. Just bought a mounted crownie knight, 4 imperial armada soldiers, 5901 River Raft and 3 clone battle packs *sweet*
  3. I actually made this about a month ago, but wasn't entirely pleased with it. In the end, I decided to take some pics anyway. Here it is: The Romans, having already conquered most of Europe, had their eyes set on Germania. Emperor Augustus sent a large army of some of his best legionaries to invade. Arminius, the chief of the Cherusci, made friends with the Romans and showed them a way to Germania, through the Teutoberg Forest. Little did the Romans know that Arminius's army were waiting in ambush for them. Suddenly, the Germans came from out of the trees and attacked the Romans from all sides. The chaos ensues: Finally, it was over. The Roman legions had been utterly destroyed. The Romans would never conquer Germania. Feedback appreciated ;-)
  4. *wub* Beautiful. Even better than Cafe Corner. Great figs, great pieces, great building :'-) Those arches above the lady on the ledge is great *wub* I'll have to pass on this set though, I've got far too much to buy already :-/
  5. Pics of the board game: Cards: Board. It is made up of 5 jigsaw-type pieces that you can fit on different ways to have a different game each time: The map of the temple: The wooden board *wub*:
  6. I agree, this set is in my opinion the best set of this year's castle line. Plenty of figs, another section of castle and that siege tower is just great *wub* Yes, the Viking Longship was only $100NZ, and that seems much better than the Attackship :-/ I hope they will lower the price, because it doesn't really seem worth it at the moment.
  7. Here are the prices of the Castle sets in New Zealand, according to Toyplanet: Dwarves Mine Defender - $19.99 Attack on the Tower - $58.99 Troll Warrior Impulse - $6.99 Troll Warship - 126.99 They all seem more expensive than I expected. I would've thought the mine defender would be the same price as the crossbow, but is instead the same price as the catapult, which is a much better design, and includes 4 figs :-(
  8. Thanks for another review, Morgan *sweet* I quite like that grappling hook type thing, simple but effective. I find it pretty silly that on the box it says 'Exclusive Rolling Battle Wheel'. If that is an excuse to make it an exclusive, then every set should be one |-/ Although it is much worse than I first expected, I'll still get this, I can't pass up a rolling monolith :-$ EDIT: Yes, judging by the pic of the orc leader, it does look like the helmet is high up :-/ Hopefully the helmet will fit on well on the new armour piece
  9. There's a 4+ set that shows this - Clicky :-D Any time X-D
  10. Nice work, especially on the hull of the Dutchman and masts of the Pearl and I love the crews on both ships :-) Do you plan on adding sails later on?
  11. *wub* Another fantastic MOC, Sir Nadroj. Everything about this is great - The General Grevious wheels, the orc swords used as propellars, the use of palm tree pieces and most of all, that stunning Incan stone carving *wub* It's amazing how much detail has gone into that face :'-) Best of luck for the contest :-)
  12. Actually, looks to me as if you need one more for each of your carriages :-P Nice collection By the way *y* Aside from putting the price up a little, I don't see what's wrong with the skellorses. 10 or so mounted skellies look great *wub*
  13. Monkeys all the way *wub* They can hold 4 muskets at once, making them twice as efficient as a normal soldier *sweet* :-P EDIT: Great poll pic, Mr Phes *wub*
  14. Quite a nice ship you've got there, radar *y* The masts and sails look very nice on such a thin ship, and the colours are attractive too. Good job :-)
  15. :-D :-D Thanks. That grumpy face looks classic in the wide brimmed helmet *y* EDIT: Is it just because of the flash, or is the skull on the skellie armour gone?
  16. Oh yeah, I forgot about them :-$ Yes, I do have them. I'll post some more pics tomorrow.
  17. mostly the platform part for the trolls and a pic of it without the wheels :-$ Thanks.
  18. Shameless Self-Promotion ON! :-P
  19. Thanks for the detailed review, CB *y* This is a pretty nice set, though rather pricey for what you get. Dwarves Mining only costs a little more than this. I'll definately be getting this though, the wheels and platform are really well done, even if the back handle and spring missile aren't :-/ Could you take some more pics, especially of the platform? Pleeaase? X-D
  20. Indeed, I got this set MISB for roughly $35US *sweet* Hmm, you're probably right. I was being a bit harsh at the time. I've changed the rating a bit. This set is by far the best Adventurers set in terms of traps, and has some great minifigs and pieces. *y*
  21. Wait, isn't it light bley, not frown? :-$ :-P Although I would much rather have a brown table :-$ More on-topic, I love the wizard's legs, even better than the Evil Wizard's ones. The hip piece looks very nice on dark blue legs *y*
  22. Wow, great idea Mr Tiber, looks very similar *y*
  23. 7417 - Temple of Mount Everest First, an overall view: The Minifigs The set comes with 4 minifigures, 2 of which are exclusive to this set. From left to right, Johnny Thunder (in winter clothing), Sangye Dorje, Lord Sinister (with pilot hat and tophat) and Ngan Pa. Sangye. I like this fig. He has a nice torso and face, and his hat is wonderful. Ngan Pa. This minifig is great too, with the mongol hat again and a nice face with a fu manchu moustache. Loving the torso too. The Biplane This is one of the best biplanes TLC has produced. The colour scheme is very nice, looks nice and sleek, and unlike others, is very sturdy. The back is rather plain, and could do with some detail on the back wing, but it's a minor problem. The Temple The temple is full of playability, but lacks quite a bit of detail. The rooms in the Temple are very open, with no walls on most sides. That said, the roof is very nice. The orange and yellow looks really good on it, and like the dragon fortress roof, had a very Asian feel to it. The pathway to the bridge. It has two pairs of snowshoes for the adventurers, and a rather simple rock-type path. Nothing much more to say here... Once you've climbed up the small cliff, you can climb across the rickety bridge. I'm rather dissapointed it's just the <insert that tiresome argument> bridge piece, I would've much rather preferred something along the lines of the bridge from the KK2 set Border Ambush, but it's alright considering how cheap this set is. Then you're supposed to pull away a technic pin, making the bridge flip over, but it doesn't really work. I've removed the pin and now just turn it by hand :-/ Once you've made it past the bridge, you come across the doors, which is wedged shut by a piece of wood. You must remove it to open the door. i love the wood piece, very realistic. Now that you're inside, it's time to take that diamond! ... But not without having to go through the dangerous traps. By taking this lance off the handle piece.. ... Two axes will come swinging down at amazing speed. They are Fabuland axes, which I've always thought were great. Uh oh, Lord Sinister is about to take the diamond 8- But wait, turn the round 2x2 piece below him... ... And catapult him straight out of the temple! Now Johnny Thunder can finally take the diamond. Too bad what he was really after was the golden sword :-( We then go all the way down again, to a rock face.. .. Which slides open, revealing the golden sword! Johnny Thunder is a happy chappy today *sweet* Overall, this is a good set, well worth the money. Though it is very open, this is more of a playset, and has exellent playability. That being said, it is still a very nice and interesting set to display. Detail: 7.5 Playability: 10 Minifigs: 9 Build: 8 Price: 10 Overall: 8.5 This is one of the better sets of Orient Expedition, and I would strongly recommend this set to any adventurer lover.
  24. Yes, I've tried to make one too. The best ideas I came up with were the 1x1 round piece and a ball joint piece. I'm sure TLC will make one soon though, with Indiana Jones coming out (for Sallah and the Brotherhood of the Cruciform Sword minifigs)
