Indiana Jones Part 4 - Set Pictures are available
MagPiesRUs replied to Navy Trooper Fenson's topic in LEGO Licensed
I find it rather strange that they've got rid of the Soviet star on the cutter, but then added "CCCP" on the jeep :-| :-D -
I'm trying to make some mitre hats for my imperial soldiers, but am not quite sure how to make one without customising. Here's a mitre hat in case you don't know :-$ : I've tried a few options, the one I like best so far is a 1x1 round stud with a hornless viking helmet on top. Here's a pic: Any suggestions? Thanks.

Here's a quick MOC I made for Christmas. It's of the Christmas truce between the Allies and the Germans on the western front in 1914 on Christmas. There's a good movie I'd reccomend about it called Joyeux Noel (?). Anyway, here it is: The Germans and British play a game of soccer together: A German soldier brings a Christmas tree over: A German and a Frenchman meet each other: A captain of each side speak with each other: The truce was a time when soldiers could collect the fallen from no man's land: Three soldiers play poker together (where they got the chips is anyone's guess :-$ ): Happy Holidays! :-)

Thanks for some more great flags, Whipstick *y* If it's not too much to ask, could you make Black Bart's two flags? Thanks *sweet*

I don't think the picture shows up for anyone, but it's just good news to know there's a troll impulse set. As well as that set, three more impulses will come out, hopefully one will be a dwarf :'-)
-
Sorry if this has already been brought up, but it looks like there'll be a troll (orc) impulse set. Link Here I hope a dwarf one will come out with it *wub*

Well, New Zealand may not get Lego sets early, but we do get Christmas early *wub* Anyway, here's my crew's annual voyage to the ol' Christmas tree: Me and the crew sail on our small boat, intent on gathering up the loot under the Christmas tree: ..But first, we take a trip to the stockings: After escaping the Imperials, TinyPiesRUs and the crew head for all of the nice-looking presents... A few hours later... Finally a look at all of the (Lego) loot (Sorry about the bad photos: Merry Christmas! *sweet*

The Many Adventures of the Whacker and the Walrus #5
MagPiesRUs replied to Hinckley's topic in Brick Flicks & Comics
:-D Another brilliant comic, Hinckley (and Copmike and Ras)! *wub* I especially liked the changing of certain things in each picture, the arm-ripping action and the cavity search :-D I love all of the background action that happens in your comics, they're great! Great job *wub* EDIT: Is that Sinner with his bucket in the third dream? *wub* -
Thanks, but "Lord of Pies?" >:-( :-P :-D I just used another one of these. The fire supported it aswell, and it stays up very well *sweet*
-
This is a great MOC, and as in all of your works, great detail *wub* I love all of the unique techniques that have gone into this. The mouse trap, smoking pipe, different liquids, smoke *wub* One thing though, what is the head in the turban with the chicken leg supposed to be? :-D Great job *y* *y*

EB Pirates! - Episode 1, Green Hair and the Yellow Thief
MagPiesRUs replied to El Bucanero's topic in Pirate MOCs
Ha! Very nice :-D I especially like Hairy Ruben's appearance, the commercial and the pirate having to swim *y* *y* I look forward to the next episode. :-) -
I thought Brickmaster said there'd be an exclusive Indiana Jones set :-/ Mabye that's for July when the second wave comes out.
-
This is absolutely beautiful *wub* The columns, the tiles and 1x1 studs on the walls, not to mention the two towers and the domes at the top *wub* Brilliant.
-
Thanks, everybody *sweet* Thanks, Batbrick :-) With Zeus, the lightning piece is supposed to be another bolt that he's about to throw down on the poor Greeks :-( About the hull, I didn't really have the time or the spare brown pieces to make one myself. Now that I think about it though, it could look quite good, I might try it out. As for the eye, I used blue-tack X-D Thanks. I made the lightning like that, as Batbrick and iamded said, to make the cloud sturdy and to look cartoony. But about the cloud part sticking out- I suppose I ws just lazy there :-$ Thanks again *wub*

Thanks everyone for the great feedback *wub* Thanks. That means alot coming from someone who I just realised was a dead redcoat in this scene :-P :-D Thank you *wub* You have made my day :-$ :-D Thanks. The decal colour is a bit off, but it works pretty well. Thanks everyone :-$ :-D
-
Nice job, woody, this is very similar to the real thing, and as always, great decals *wub* One thing I might change though is Charles' head. Mabye use this head, this head or this head, if you've got them. Other than that, great job *y*

This is my 6th MOC based on a painting. Celebrating my new title ( *sweet* ), I've made quite a large scene. This is another painting based on the attacks on Hougoumont. This one is Hougoumont, by Mark Churms. It is of a French attack on the Sothern part of Hougoumont under Jerome, Napoleon's brother, during the Battle of Waterloo. Here's the painting: And here's my MOC: Whole Overview: We have a big spiderweb decoration for Halloween, so I took some of the web off to make for some nice smoke. I think it works very well :-) A captain leads the troops into action: The French standard bearers: The bodies of some of the fallen :'-( : A fresh batch of infantry charges in: The British fire from behind their baricade: A soldier reloads his musket while his comrades release a volley: A French soldier takes cover while reloading: The British, garrisoned in the buildings, shoot down on the masses of Frenchmen: The inside of the buildings: The British fire: .. But one man has been wounded (my personal favourite pic): A Scottish soldier secures the door to the house: A Scotsman in a storehouse fires from out of a small window: A view from atop the main house: Here are some nice action shots of some of the soldiers: A picture of the scene without smoke: Who's this? The painter X-O The cossack must've killed an imposter (he didn't have a flare X-D ) Too bad I broke up his canvas and can't find his pallette he lost his canvas and pallette... So he's resorted to using a camera! :-D Say cheese, everyone! X-D Enjoy :-D Feedback appreciated *sweet*

Here is an MOC on The Odyssey, by Homer. Odysseus has been warned by ghosts in the Underworld that should he or his crew eat the golden cattle on the island of the Titan Helios. When he passes by it on his ship, however, he is forced to land there, and is unable to leave for a week, due to storms. His crew grow very hungry, and can't find any food other than the cattle. One night, while Odysseus sleeps, the crew kill the cattle and eat them. Helios finds out and asks Zeus to kill the ones who did this. Odysseus awakes, but is too late. Odysseus and the crew run into their ship and quickly sail off. Zeus strikes the boat with lightning, however, sinking the ship. Only Odysseus makes it out. Here it is: The trireme: A cloud, which Zeus sits atop: The lightning comes down onto the helpless boat: .. And hits one unlucky crew member straight-on: Odysseus tries to organise everyone: The chaos ensues: The cast: And finally, a (poorly) photoshopped version: Feedback appreciated :-D

Thanks for the feedback, everyone :-) Thanks. I don't know why, but this was the first thought I had for another scene on the Crusades :-/ Mabye I wanted a Byzantine MOC. There isn't really much left of the building, it's supposed to be almost burnt down. The dome is part of the roof though, and you can just make out a door at the bottom. Thanks, but I took the idea of the flare used as wine from one of Sly'Owl's MOCs :-$ Thanks. It's imagination, but there are plenty of ideas used from paintings, drawings etc. included.

Here's my second crusade MOC: The 4th Crusade started in 1202, and the Crusaders set off to Venice in Italy, who were providing the ships for the journey. The Crusaders however, didn't have enough money to pay the Venetians, and so Venice ordered them to capture some cities off of their trading rivals, the Byzantine Empire, to pay them. The Venetians and the Crusaders first attacked Zara, then Constantinople itself. They sacked and looted Constantinople, and it was never the same again. Here it is: The two armies clash: One Crusader has found the alcohol :-D : Another Crusader sets a building alight: An Orthodox priest escapes the fire: A knight takes a nice looking woman for himself :-$ Yet another soldier takes some loot from a shop owner: bird's eye (or catapult boulder) view: Now for the minifigs *sweet* Byzantine civilians (Shop owner, Orthodox priest, woman, Turkish merchant) Byzantine soldiers: Crusaders #1: Crusaders #2: The whole lot: Enjoy! Feedback appreciated :-)

Which Pirate LEGO faction do you support?
MagPiesRUs replied to Col. Whipstick's topic in LEGO Pirates
X-D You're right, but I always think of them as real nations. In actual fact, I like the colour red better than blue, but I think blue looks better on the soldiers. Although I do like them both very much *sweet* In fact, I love all of the pirate factions *wub* -
Thanks, whung! *wub* This set looks great. I'll definately be getting this one (provided it's avaliable in New Zealand :-| ). Too bad it has a silly missile, but atleast it isn't a flickfirwe one :-X Also, I see the crownie with the chain has made some progress since the last pic, now he's scaling the wheel itself :-D Well the Scandinavians were usually engaged in civil wars, and I think of the orcs as a kind of union of tribes, so I think it's ok. :-)

Which Pirate LEGO faction do you support?
MagPiesRUs replied to Col. Whipstick's topic in LEGO Pirates
Although all of my avatars are pirates, I think I'm an Imperial Soldier at heart (plus it's always safe to be on Bonaparte's side X-D ) Viva L'Empereur ON! >:-) -
Very nice *y* They're all very accurate depictions of a minifig. The hairpieces are done especially well. Perhaps you could even make your friends out of real lego (using decals of course) Nice job, I think they should be quite pleased with it.
