Indiana Jones Part 4 - Set Pictures are available
MagPiesRUs replied to Navy Trooper Fenson's topic in LEGO Licensed
Deinonychus has found some pics from the Toy Fair: Full Gallery Here *wub* Looks like there's quite alot of detail behind the temple, and those natives are great *wub* We get a nice look at the new crystal skulls too, but I'm a little dissapointed with them. They look a little too megablocky :-/ -
Any news or photos on Toy Fair London or NYC??
MagPiesRUs replied to gusmoore17's topic in General LEGO Discussion
'patients'? Is TLC releasing a hospital theme this year? :-P Looking forward to more pics soon *sweet* EDIT: Thanks for the great pics, Deino *wub* I'll comment more once I've had a better look.. -
Very nice *wub* The pharoah and priest look great, and graverobbers are a nice addtion. Looking at the sets available this year, I like the look of those marriage sets, as well as the barbarian and musketeer specials. I hope to see a Celtic/Germanic theme next *wub* Playmobil ON!

It may not be real, but it's still great *wub* I love the little details and the overall smooth look of it. I hope we do see an Indy tank in the third wave.. *wub*

V-LV-05A Let me start off by saying this is my first attempt at making a car, and I didn't have any references when making it. After building it, I noticed it was very bulky, looking almost like the Batman Tumbler :-D Oh well, moving on, here's a rather modern looking 20's gangster car: Front: Back: Side: Canopy: The canopy can open to reveal the interior: The two sinister fellows: "Take this, coppers!" X-D Enjoy! Feedback appreciated ;-)

It was tough, but i went with Bonaparte. It's a great little boat, with a nice colour scheme and I love the wheel and steam pipe (?). I also love the flag on the mast, very nice *wub* Good luck to both of you :-) -
The Day was getting late, and the mayor was getting impatient. The inhabitants of Gold City, paranoid as ever, had spent most of the day trying to lynch everyone in sight. The mayor finally stood up, furious. "Why you dirty yellow-bellied cowards! You folk are the most indecisive lot I've ever layed eyes on! Ya'll better finish this here investigation soon, or we're going to bed lynch-less tonight!" With those wise words, the town once again began to route out the criminals from the good town. Or tried to atleast ... Deadline for lynching: February 19th, 4:00am GMT If the deadline is reached, no one will be lynched today and night will start.

Yes, I saw this a few weeks back *wub* Can't wait for it to come out. I absolutely loved America: Outlawed. Though I'm not so sure if I like the CGI water much. Other than that, it's brilliant, one of the best lego pirate movies I've seen in a long time.
-
Thanks for another brilliant review *wub* This set is a thing of beauty, but as great as it is, I simply can't afford it. I'm not much of a town collector, so I think I can just resist buying it. Regardless, the set is fantastic, and I love the 50's style of the buildings *wub* the retero curves and squarish shapes look great, especially on the service station. The cinema is wonderful, with ticket booth, velvet rope, popcorn stand and the theatre itself. I love the stickers on it, the movie posters are great *wub* Thanks again *sweet*

Oops, sorry. I was only searching in the theatre section, and I could've sworn they weren't there last week :-$

There's a game and character profiles on the Lego Indy website now. After about 30 minutes of frustrated clicking, I finished it X-D

Indiana Jones Part 4 - Set Pictures are available
MagPiesRUs replied to Navy Trooper Fenson's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yes, it does look like it, but judging from the little gap we can see through on the left, it won't be too special. I'm sure there'll be a few traps. Seeing the conquistadore helmet (and the cutlass) back in production certainly gives me hope that we'll be seeing another pirate line soon.Though I do hope that in the final version, the helmet (and the cutlass) will be metallic silver *wub* -

The car and jungle cutter look similar enough to their movie counterparts, but I'm not so sure about the temple :-/ Although the crystal skellies and natives look good, I don't think I'll be getting that set *n* -

Wow, great job, I love the way you've done the different materials. I'm loving the arm band and wrist band, as well as the shading on the torso *wub* I'm not really in love with those shoulder straps, I feel they need an outline or something along those lines. And the first place may get this as a prize? I'd better start making an entry :-$ Once again, great work *y*
-
Great work, as always, I love the way you make the legs *wub* I made some Teutonic knights myself a while back: Shameless Self Promotion ON! :-$

He overcooked his carrot and ran to the nearest source of water to put it out? :-P X-D Nice little vig, I like the marshy water, although I think the trans-green seaweed looks a little out of place :-/ Good job *y*

It had been a long and restless night. No doubt the bandits had been busy. The town awoke to the call of a rooster. All but the Brickster... he slept a few minutes longer. The town gathered together at the gallows, surprised to see everyone still alive. Rumours had already started spreading however, and it surely wouldn't be long until someone joined ricecracker in the graveyard. No one was killed last night. Day 2 has begun.

Gold City is a place where bandits roam freely, and take what they please from the good people of the town. Although the Sherriff and his deputy can sometimes bring law to the lawless folk, but the gangs of bandits are far too numerous to be completely destroyed. The Mayor agrees something needs to be done. He announces that every day, the towns-people will vote on who will be lynched. Finally, order could be restored in Gold City. Past Storylines: Day 2, Morning It had been a long and restless night. Day 1, Sunset ricecracker had been the name on the lips of many of the townspeople the whole day. Not the delicious snack either, but one of the citizens. ricecracker had tried to prove his innocence, claiming to be the deputy sherriff, but the town was having none of it. Ricecracker was taken to the gallows and hung.. Ricecracker's badge fell to the floor, with the word 'DEPUTY' engraved on it. "Oops, looks like he was a Townie after all" said the mayor, his cheeks now a reddish colour. The townspeople, feeling rather silly, returned to their houses for the night, hoping the next day will be more successful. The bandits, however, loaded up their guns and prepared to rid themselves of a few more town members... Day 1, Morning The inhabitants of Gold City gathered around their trusted mayor, who clearly had something important to say. The noise of the townspeople died down as the mayor's booming voice echoed throughout the city. "This town is in great peril! Many a bandit has made this town their home, and now, something has to be done. As the mayor, I have come up with a solution - we will all search the town, trying to route out the outlaws, and finally free this town of evil. Anyone we find suspicious will be hanged. Now, harden your hearts for the coming task. Once this is all over, we will once again be able to roam freely without the threat of bandits!" The crowd cheered, despite the mayor's flawed system. For their spirits had been uplifted, and they would follow the mayor's plan the all the way, or die trying. The townspeople walked back to their homes, and so, presumeably, did the bandits. Inhabitants of Gold City - Tanotrooper - TheBrickster - Trexxen - Piranha - lukeiamyourfather - Quarryman - Captain Ka-Boom - Capn Kirk 911 - wouwie13 The Graveyard - ricecracker: Was clearly loved by all of the town. R.I.P. (Townie) Rules can be found in the Day 1 Thread. If you have any more questions, feel free to PM me. Have Fun ;-)

Setwise I'd without a doubt say Johnny Thunder. Even if the vehicles are far worse than the ones from the Indy line, the structures were truly amazing. Not only did they have great traps and playability, they had incredible detail as well. Indy buildings only really have playability, with a couple of details. None of the Indy sets so far should even be mentioned in the same breath as the Dragon Fortress and Sphinx Secret Surprise. Minfigwise, it's much more difficult. Indiana Jones has incredibly detailed figs, very similar to their movie conterparts (if only they had new faces for Belloq, Satipo and Jock though..). Adventurers had it's fair share of great minifigs too, including ones very different from any other before, such as the mummy, the Aztec chief, the Indians, the sherpas and the Chinese. In the end I would prefer JT minifigs, simply because of those stunning molds (pharoah headress, pith helmet, Aztec headress, turban, mongol hat, Asian peasant hat..). Comparing the two themes on sets and minifigs isn't all though. The time periods in which they've been made should be considered too. While the adventurers line was going, I preferred the Western and Pirate themes over it when it came out. Now in 2008, the Indy sets are on the top of my priorities, while in 1997, Western was. That shows that, while I prefer the Adventurers sets over the Indy ones, Adventurers wasn't my favourite theme when it was around, but Indiana Jones is. I love both themes, and Indiana Jones is definately my favourite theme this year. In fact, I'm sure that if Indiana Jones was a licence 10 years ago, it would be much better than the current one. It's more about the different periods really. TLC have changed in how they think, and replaced their old values with newer ones. In that sense, the two themes can't really be compared without comparing the two different periods. I hope that all makes sense :-$
