Kaliphlin Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion
MagPiesRUs replied to Si-MOCs's topic in Guilds of Historica
Baydara the Scarred is a renowned warlord in Eastern Siccus. Having thrown his support behind the current governor of Qarkyr during a bloody insurrection, Baydara has been richly rewarded for his loyalty, and now resides in Qarkyr with his men as protectors of the city. Baydara is a well-respected commander throughout Siccus. Calm and confident in battle, Baydara has a sound grasp of military tactics. However, he also has a yearning for glory that often sees him leading from the front in bold but reckless attacks. Having been in the thick of many a battle, Baydara bears the marks of war. Most notable amongst these is the long brutal scar that stretches across his face. To protect this wound from the harsh eastern climate, he now wears an extravagant gold mask over his face, . He is rarely seen without it, leading some to suspect he is simply too vain to reveal his disfigured face in front of the public. -

Prison Riot! The Conclusion
MagPiesRUs replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I just wish you would've explicitly told us to get our night actions in. I was a little thrown when you said you'd "conclude all this" in 20 hours - I figured you were already writing up a conclusion. Either that or you were going to do a write-up to conclude Day 6. I really should have put two and two together and realised that 20 hours = the deadline for night actions. I meant Kiel and Zepher would kill each other off. I'm curious as to what would happen if it had come down to just me and Scouts. The voting would've been a draw and neither remaining meal (PGO and blocker) would've allowed for a night kill. Would the game have been a draw? I was so happy to have found a scum on the first day! Little did I know that practically anyone I chose to investigate would've come up as scum anyway. -
Prison Riot! The Conclusion
MagPiesRUs replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I can't believe I forgot to get my night action in. For some reason I was waiting for iamded's death scene before I sent in my night action, and then when the warden said he was going to conclude this, I figured it was too late anyway. Anyway, my plan was to block Scouts and let Kiel and Zepher kill each other at night. Then I planned on trying to convince Scouts to vote for the warden, then vote for him at the last minute in order to snatch a glorious victory! Thanks for the game Hinckley, it was a lot of fun being the only townie in a prison full of witches. I'll post more thoughts later on... -
Indeed. See you in hell, you fish-lipped freak! Illiap Reertu (iamded) Vote: Illiap Reertu (iamded) I have a feeling I just gave the Warden another migraine...

It's not easy being in the middle. I hope the rest of you will understand where I'm coming from when I Vote: Pronti Flavior (Professor Flitwick).

C'mon Sully, you can do it! Hit that blue bastard! Jab! Jab!

So what was with your previous post? It seemed as if you were resigned to your fate. Why hadn't you mentioned this before? The way I see it, Drakius is definitely scum. Shadowghost wouldn't be stupid enough to fake an investigation this early on in the game. He said he was specifically told what faction Drakius belonged to, so he won't be able to chalk it up to an insane investigation if he's wrong tomorrow either. It's certainly possible that both Drakius and Shadowghost are scum, but for now I feel we've got a stronger case against Drakius. Vote: Drakius Knight (Dragonator) I find it very hard to believe that there'd be three sane investigator roles out of 17 actions. Since the other two investigator actions specify the faction the player belongs to, whilst yours seems to only give a town/not town reading, I think it's likely you got an insane investigative ability. Or you're just lying. That's a possibility too.
-
Great news! Not only did we nail Jissaleh, but that blue-haired bastard Rufulzud is dead too. So we've got two investigative actions? Fantastic! I'm sure the El Plutns Gang must know by now which meal contains the day investigator role, so it's a good thing we've got a backup on hand. We've got today sorted too, looks like it's all over bar the screaming for Drakius. Good work Shadowghost.

Vote: Jissaleh Blazen (JimButcher)
-
I don't think that's possible. I was told directly by the host that you are scum. There was no implication that anything went wrong with my investigation. Everything the host says should be taken as fact. What kind of stupid host would ever openly lie to their players? And if you're going to refer to vids from the past, how about the one about the Imperial Soldiers? There was a dashing investigator in it that discovered two scum on his first two nights. Do you remember how that one ended? The soldiers turned on the investigator and all died because they let the two confirmed scum live. And how about that vid about the Aventine plebs? There was a dashing investigator in that one too, and he discovered scum on the first night as well. Do you remember how that one ended? Neither do I, the series got cancelled once the antagonist started oinking. Dammit, I forgot where I was going with this. Ah, that's right: it's possible for an investigator to get lucky on the first day. It's happened before. I also chose you because you were above me on the meal list. I was worried that if I investigated someone else and found they were scum, then you would have a 50/50 chance of guessing which ability I had. Then things might've been troublesome if you were scum (which you are). I hope that makes sense - it probably doesn't, but that's the logic I used when I investigated you.
-
I don't have any solid proof, it's just that I was told Jissaleh was a member of the El Plutans Gang. So far in the OP, the scum have been broadly termed as gang members - the El Plutans name hasn't been used specifically. I'm just assuming that if there was only one faction, the rules would've specifically called the scum the El Plutans Gang, instead of simply Gang Members.
-
As I said though, after Jissaleh chose his meal, there were only 2 other meals remaining, one of which I chose. That means the scum have a 50% chance of guessing which meal grants the Day Investigator ability. Then again, it sounds as if there may be more than one scum faction, so we might be better off keeping the second faction from knowing anything about the meal.
-
Looks like we won't need to be using this vote tie strategy afterall! I was granted Day Investigator ability today. I investigated JimButcher/Jissaleh Blazen. It turns out he's a member of the El Plutans Gang. I chose to investigate Jissaleh because he was in front of me in the meal queue, and would have the best idea what item I chose today. I had an odd feeling about him too, so I went with my gut. I know it's risky to reveal an investigator role this early on, but what can I do? I can't sit like a mute when I know someone is scum. The problem is, I was the second-to-last inmate to choose my meal today and Jissaleh was the third-to-last. This means the El Plutans Gang now have a 50/50 chance of knowing which meal I picked. Because of this, I'm wondering if I should just reveal the meal I took publicly, so that the town have a better chance of snapping it up tomorrow. Since the scum don't know who chose what, we may have a better chance of keeping this ability alive. Hopefully someone will protect me tonight too, I'm sure the scum will be looking to get rid of this ability. Any questions?

16th in line?! I'll be released from jail by the time the food comes around. If we can't decide on voting for anyone, I suppose it would be easier if we all voted for a different person, so that each player has one vote against them and we have a 17-way tie. That way there won't be any counting confusions. Although this whole idea rests on the assumption that none of the food grants an additional vote, which would make things a lot harder to track.

Here's my meta entry. I'd originally built it for the Series 4 contest (obviously with an orange bag instead of the blue), but ran out of time to enter it. Billy has finally gotten around to buying a Series 5 pack. Oh, the excitement! Billy pours the contents of the bag onto the table. Which figure did he get? (A few more pictures can be found here) Minifigure: The packet hasn't been opened yet, so I'm not sure. Having thoroughly felt it though, I have a feeling it's going to be the Zookeeper.

My name is Tierro Prius. It is nice to meet- Hey, blue-brain! I'm trying to make an introduction here! Shut up! Where was I? Oh yes, it's very nice to meet you all. It is terrible that these rioters have spoiled things for us all, I can't wait to get rid of them. Hopefully, if we all stick together, we'll be able to- I'm still not finished talking yet Mr. Sand-Blue! Shut Up! ... As I was saying, I hope we'll all stick together so we can root out these scumbags. Then I'll be able to do my five years in peace and quiet. I'm so lucky to have such a wonderful sister, I can't wait to see her again when I get out. -

The Forest Mafia: Conclusion
MagPiesRUs replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Thanks for the great game, Hinckley. The game was so immersive and fun to follow, what with your excellent photography, storyline and roles. I'm always a little too conservative in my playing style. As you said, usually I have a night action, so I usually just try to keep a low profile. I don't take enough risks, and tend to keep my head down and go with the flow until everything closes in around me and I'm forced to do something. Unfortunately I got called out for all of this early on and was forced to reveal my role, and from that point on, I was screwed. I'm glad I managed to help the town out a little before I died though. Here's my role: ROAR! I liked Lazlo. Also, are we going to get to see the survivors' All-Star tributes? -
